With the end of the season long gone, and the start of the new season painfully far away for us football fans, it's only natural that the rumour mill would go into overdrive.

As club officials, players and staff take the opportunity for a much-needed break before preparations begin once again, the spread of meaningless gossip goes through the gears, as football fans look for the excitement of a high-profile summer signing.

At Get West London, we try to compile those silly-season rumours from all sources on social media and beyond, and safe to say, the QPR gossip section has been quick off the mark.

Some rumours possible, some probable, and some completely ridiculous, below is a list of the QPR rumours to have surfaced so far this summer.

Of all the young players I thought we might be fighting to keep this off-season (Furlong, Manning) Josh Bowler would not have been on the list because I LITERALLY HAD NEVER HEARD OF HIM before he came on against Norwich.

Kosovo defender Benjamin Kololli is the latest player Get West London have linked with QPR.

Get West London claim the R’s “are among a number of Championship clubs who could be interested” in the 25-year-old, who plays for Swiss side Lausanne.

Clubs in Switzerland and Germany have recently been linked with Kololli.

Meanwhile, QPR have offered Josh Bowler a new three-year contract and have rejected Everton’s latest bid for him, West London Sport reports.

Everton made an improved offer for the 18-year-old winger after having an initial bid rejected.

West London Sport reports that Rangers believe they are likely to lose Bowler, 18, if his head is turned by Premier League interest and that they are ready to sell him if he is unwilling to commit his future to the club.

He is under contract at Loftus Road until the summer of 2018, having signed an 18-month deal in February this year.

West London Sport reported earlier this week that Rangers planned to offer Bowler a new deal but that the chances of him leaving appeared to be strong.

Get West London on the other hand, claim it is “merely speculation” that a contract has been offered to Bowler and reckon no decision has been taken by Rangers regarding Everton’s bid.

Get West London have also linked the R’s left-back Jake Bidwell with Nottingham Forest this week.

They say there are “reports on social media” that Forest boss Mark Warburton wants to sign Bidwell, who previously played under him at Brentford.

It has led Get West London to declare that Bidwell is “seen as the ideal candidate” to move to the City Ground this summer.

Get West London also say there are rumours Yeni Ngbakoto is unsettled at QPR and that Toulouse are among French clubs interested in signing him.

Get West London say Rangers would want to recoup the fee they paid Metz for him last summer if he is surplus to requirements at Loftus Road.

Ngbakoto, who was hampered by injuries last season and suffered a bereavement when his father passed away, recently posted on Instagram that he was looking to return to Rangers stronger after the summer break.


Get West London have also recently linked with R’s with Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham, who is set to join Newcastle, and 41-year-old keeper Shay Given, and linked Conor Washington with a possible move to Birmingham after fans’ website Vital Birmingham City published an article asking whether Washington might be the kind of forward who might succeed at St Andrews.

Yeni N'Gbakoto's agent has refused to rule out a move to Toulouse, but insists the player's plan is to remain in England.

Speaking to a Toulouse fans website, N'Gbakoto's agent Philippe Fiorentino didn't deny being in contact with Toulouse, but admitted that the arrival of the Queens Park Rangers winger at the club was unlikely.

He said: "said: "A return to France is not the priority. The project was to put one foot in England, and then to stay there to get first League (the Premier League)."

The french side made an offer for the former-Metz man before he secured his move to Loftus Road.

But the winger's future remains up in the air, following reports that he is unsettled following a difficult first season in English football.

Queens Park Rangers are among a number of Championship clubs who could be interested in a move for Kosovan international defender Benjamin Kololli.

The 25-year-old, who plays for FC Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland's top flight, is attracting interest from clubs around the continent, including Frankfurt, FC Basel, and a number of other teams from the Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

The Swiss-born defender, who is equally at home in right back or right midfield, has scored eight goals this season.

Kololli opted to represent Kosovo at international level and has won two caps since making his international debut against Turkey in November last year.

It is believed that a bid of £750k would be enough to secure the move, but with an ever-increasing profile there's likely to be a real battle to secure his signature.

Young starlet Tammy Abraham is to speak to Brighton & Hove Albion before making a decision on his future, according to reports in the Telegraph.

The 19-year-old, who was linked with a move to QPR as well as a host of other clubs, was thought to be on the verge of agreeing a loan move to Newcastle United, but it seems he is keen to ensure he's making the best decision for his development.

Abraham, who lives in Surrey, is thought to have been guaranteed regular first-team football at both clubs, but believes opportunities will be greater on the south coast.

The Chelsea youngster scored 23 goals in 41 appearances last season for Championship side Bristol City and the striker is tipped to have a big future in the game.

QPR target Benjamin Kololli was the subject of a huge scouting mission as a number of European clubs attended his game on Friday night.

The versatile defender is attracting attention from clubs including Frankfurt, FC Basel and other teams from France and Germany's top flights.

The 25-year-old was on the losing team as his side FC Lausanne-Sport were defeated 2-0 away at Young Boys.

However with a growing reputation it looks highly likely that the Kosovan international will be on the move this summer.

Queens Park Rangers are rumoured to be interested in making an approach for Gabonese winger Denis Bouanga.

The 22-year-old, who is contracted to French side Lorient, is seen as one of the hottest prospect in the French football pyramid.

Bouanga spent last season on loan with Ligue 2 side Tours, where he scored an impressive 16 goals in 36 appearances.

As well as interest from Loftus Road, the midfielder is said to be attracting attention from around the continent, including reported approaches from French Ligue 1 side AS Saint Etienne and Championship rivals Barnsley.

The midfielder is renowned for his pace and trickery, with his form this season earning him a call up to Gabon's African Cup of Nations squad this year.

Competition for Bouanga is thought to be high, with Lorient open to offers for the winger.

Have it on good authority that that Bowler is viewed by the club as the best prospect we have had on our books for many a year! Everton have a strategy to try and recruit the best top 5 young talents outside of first team players and Bowler was top of the list.

Clever to give him a run out on the final day at Norwich.

We desperately need to hang on to such good young talent.

A good bit of business by the Rangers
Bowler was the only positive performance at Norwich but I see selling him & Smithies (if he also goes) as the way to go for Rangers. We have to be realistic. I thought Holloway and the club did some good business in January and hopeful we can do the same in the summer

Yeah, that was who I thought of too. He's now at AFC Wimbledon after years of doing nothing at Spurs and it rankles when you think that he could probably get games under his belt here rather than bench-warming at Everton for the foreseeable. Not that they don't have a good record of bringing young players in, they do, but I'd wager his professional development would be a whole lot stronger off the back of a few seasons of regular football in the Championship than leaving now.

I guess if he's rejected a contract offer then that may well be just being sensible (for him). Big club interested, lots of options on the table, why bite at the first offer?

Agree with others though that as much as I'd like to keep hold of any youngster with first team potential so they can be developed, if the money is right this is exactly the kind of thing we probably need to be doing. If we can get a few million for a youth product that's a huge victory in itself and the other side of the coin is that if he goes now, the risk about how good he turns out to be is entirely with Everton. Sell-on clause, like with Sterling, would be nice if it did end up happening.

You'd better batten down your hatches then, there will be an awful lot of it.

As to when are we going to make a move, perhaps we already have. A you know, it is not solely under our control. It takes two, three or possibly more to tango. The player's current club has to agree, the player has to agree and then their current club may insist on finding a replacement before permitting the deal.

Exactly - it's close season and most fans are desperate for any football news they can get so websites will keep churning out vague stories. The transfer window isn't even open yet so we can't be making any moves for anyone, beyond what may be going on behind the scenes (which I imagine is plenty). Clubs like us will be featured in gossip around this time of year too because it's contract negotiation time for a lot of players. Players with people competing for their signature, bollocks or otherwise, get better deals.

QPR are among a number of clubs chasing Millwall starlet Fred Onyedinma.

The 20-year-old winger is out of contract this this summer and has been widely linked with a move away from the Den.

Onyedinma made 54 appearances for Millwall last season, but lost his place in the team towards the latter stages of the campaign.

As well as QPR, Watford, Brentford and Hull City have expressed an interest, but Lions' boss Neil Harris is optimistic he can keep the hot prospect.

Speaking to newsshopper.co.uk, Harris said: "At one point it looked as though we may lose Fred.

"But now it looks as though we may be able to keep him.

“That's what we want. He is a talented boy with a very bright future - we want that to be at this club. We want to continue working with him.”

One of Wales' Euro 2016 heroes is set for a summer move after being made available for a shock free transfer – with Derby and QPR interested in snapping up the former Swansea City wideman.

David Cotterill, part of Chris Coleman's squad that qualified for France and went on to reach the semi-finals last year, has been told he can quit Birmingham having spent the end of last term on loan at Bristol City.

It comes despite the delivery specialist having a year left of his St Andrew's contract left to run.

Cardiff-born Cotterill, a target for the Bluebirds last year, was one of Birmingham's stand-out players in the lead-up to the Euros, but was axed by doomed Blues boss Gianfranco Zola in the January window and given just hours to seal a loan switch to Ashton Gate.

But with his short-term stay over at the Robins – where the 29-year-old started his career before a £2m move to then Premier League Wigan as a teenager – Championship clubs have been alerted to his availability.

QPR and Derby are among a number said to be interested in a potential deal for the 24-cap international, who scored twice in 13 outings to help Bristol beat relegation last term.

According to the Daily Mail, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic and MK Dons have joined Hearts in the race to sign the defender who is looking to gain more first team experience.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at NAC Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie, but it's thought the Man City hierachy want him to gain match experience in a more competitive league.

Smith-Brown has been at City since the age and can play at left-back, right-back and in central midfield.

I don't believe a word Get West London says these days.

They just pump out inane headlines in the hope of attracting clicks to feed their advertising sales. And with everyone on holiday, there are so few real stories to report on they just dress up the slightest of rumours - or simply make sh*t up.

Can't remember the last time I read anything remotely thoughtful, informed or insightful on their site and I just don't bother any more.
