15 hours to go. What can we expect today? Smith confirmed from Fulham. Ravel ? Ward from Rotherham if they change there minds at the last minute? A different surprise Forward ? Centre Back? If we sign Smith don't think we'll be in for Ward or another striker. If Ravel's grown up a bit and is fit, fancy a gamble on him. No mention in weeks of transfer gossip about a centre back coming in, so not holding my breath on that one. Well we enquired about the Newcastle Striker on loan after Smith was already going through, so there is definite interest in two strikers

From the Mirror's transfer day blog www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-deadline-day-live-deals-9724999Caulker offered to RussiaBig-earning QPR defender Steven Caulker could be sent to Russia on loan to get him off the Hoops’ wage bill. Stopper Caulker,25, has not played in the Championship since October due to a hip injury. He is still to shake off the nagging injury but the Russian season is on a break until March. Mirror Football understands Caulker has been offered to Russian Premier League clubs and the former England centre-back could head east to revive his flagging career. His contract at Loftus Road is up in 2018 after joining in 2014 on a four-year deal from relegated Cardiff in an £8million deal. Last season he was loaned to both Southampton and Liverpool to get his huge wages - believed to be in excess of £30,000-a-week - off QPR’s wage bill.

the westlondonsport article in full www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qprs-caulker-move-russia-loanQPR’s Caulker could move to Russia on loanBy David McIntyre 31/01/2017 QPR defender Steven Caulker could join Lokomotiv Moscow on loan. Rangers are in talks with the Russian club and are keen for Caulker to make the move. Any deal would not have to be completed by Tuesday’s deadline for English clubs because the Russian transfer window remains open. Caulker, 25, joined QPR from Cardiff in the summer of 2014. He has not played since October.

....and from sportwitness more on the Caulker speculation sportwitness.co.uk/mystery-tweet-russian-side-hints-heavily-qpr-transfer-following-earlier-reports/Mystery tweet from Russian side hints heavily at QPR transfer following earlier reportsBy Tom Coast - 31st January 2017 In what could be one of the strangest transfers of deadline day, QPR’s Steven Caulker has been reported as being close to a loan move to the Russian Premier League. The once capped England defender, who spent last season on loan at both Southampton and Liverpool, hasn’t been used by QPR since the 28th of October, in a 2-0 loss to Brentford, and could be shipped out to save some money from the wage budget at Loftus Road. On Tuesday morning, fuelling the speculation of the move to Russia, Lokomotiv Moscow tweeted a picture of a new player with his back to the camera, pointing at the back of his shirt, with the hashtag #ThreeLions and three lion emojis. Follow ФК Локомотив ✔ @fclm_official#ComingSoon 🔥🔥🔥 #ThreeLions 🦁🦁🦁 #BigBang Дадим вторую подсказку после 50 ретвитов 😎 7:05 PM - 31 Jan 2017 136 Retweets 64 likesNow, obviously no one wants to jump to conclusions here, but signing a player on loan from the England, especially one with Steven Caulker’s CV, would be seen as a coup by the Russian side, and they would rightly make a big deal out of it. This could easily be 2 + 2 = 5, but with the reports of a move to Russia, this would make a lot of sense, and Lokomotiv are one of the few clubs who would be able to afford the player’s wages. The defender, if that is him in the picture, would be joining former Tottenham defender Vedran Corluka at the club, with whom Caulker spent time with during his time at White Hart Lane between 2009-2013.

From football italia www.football-italia.net/97707/morrison-quits-lazio-qprMorrison quits Lazio for QPRBy Football Italia staff Reports in Italy suggest that Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison has completed a move to English Championship side QPR. The 23-year-old has failed to make an impression with the Biancocelesti since joining on a free transfer in 2015, making just eight appearances in all competitions. After training with Wigan Athletic earlier this month, Sky Sport Italia report that Morrison has joined the London club on loan with an option to buy. The Englishman had played for Manchester United, West Ham United, Birmingham City, QPR and Cardiff City before making the move to the peninsula.

Gone Permanently Sandro Poulter Chery Loaned Gladwin Soon departing Henry Borysiuk - Initial loan El Khayati ? Caulker About 7-8 out. So far in Lua Lua loan Caulker is not going anywhere - he is injured. Henry may well sit out his contract imo - just a gut feeling. El Khayati - who knows. On the other side Ollie regards Manning Furlong and Doughty as "new signings" add on a couple of real signings (Goss +1) and its about 6 all. Then again it's a long time to Jan 31st still Interesting that Borysiuk is heading for the top of the Polish league and could well end up playing in the European Cup in the near future but he's not good enough for us? Just a thought as one rumour is that he is just homesick and wants to go rather than Ollie pushing him out.

The silly season it is. From sportwitness sportwitness.co.uk/chelsea-surprise-move-qpr-star/Chelsea surprise move for QPR player would hit a serious FIFA snagBy Sport Witness - 31st January 2017 There are claims coming out of Italy that Chelsea are interested in Queens Park Rangers attacker Paweł Wszolek. The Poland international only joined QPR in the last summer window from Hellas Verona. TMW claim Antonio Conte is considering signing Wszolek from QPR before today’s transfer deadline. With the prospect of missing out on Inter Milan star Jonathan Biabiany, Chelsea have apparently turned their attention to the QPR winger. However, these claims do come as a surprise, and need to be questioned. Wszolek was a number of players that jumped ship when Verona were relegated from Serie A last season. The Pole took the decision to join QPR, where he’s racked up 1072 minutes in the Championship so far this season. The problem is that before he joined QPR, Wszolek made an appearance for Verona. Coming on in the 90th minute against Crotone (August 14th, Coppa Italia), the Pole would therefore be unable to represent any other club during the current season. FIFA’s ‘ Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players’ details the regulations and rules of footballers moving between clubs. Note 5.3 states: ‘ Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected.’ That means if Wszolek left QPR for Chelsea, he wouldn’t actually be allowed to play. Therefore, this is all clearly nonsense.

Also from sportwitness sportwitness.co.uk/exclusive-qpr-reading-keen-mls-player/Exclusive: QPR and Reading both keen on MLS playerBy Lucas Sposito - 31st January 2017 Championship sides Queens Park Rangers and Reading are both keen on Philadelphia Union midfielder Ronald Alberg, Sport Witness have learned. The Dutchman, who joined the MLS side in February 2016, has had a very good season for the club, having scored eleven goals, plus adding an assist, during the 2016 season. Wearing Union’s number 10, Alberg is considered one of the most important players in the squad and his immediate success attracted the interest of clubs from abroad. Speaking to Sport Witness, Alberg’s agent Justin Stone said: “I can confirm Rizespor interest as well as links to QPR, Reading and Darmstadt.” Philadelphia Union sports director Earnie Stewart is well known for working on the best deals for the club, and after signing the player from ADO Den Haag for free last year, he certainly won’t sell him on the cheap now. As the player’s contract with Union runs until 2018, it’s believed Alberg would cost QPR or Reading around US$2m (£1.6m).

57, you told me he was injured A current injury wouldn't necessarily mean that a player would automatically fail a medical. If the buying club were satisfied that the injury is short term and there will be no long term effects, they may still be happy to take the player knowing that he will be fit sooner rather than later.

French publication Foot Mercano say the R’s, Cardiff and Rennes wanted to take the 26-year-old forward for the rest of the season. It is claimed that Derby insisted they were not interested in a loan deal and want €2.5m (around £2.1m) to sell Camara.

The westlondonsport article in full. Probably thinks he's too good for little old QPR www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/no-progress-qprs-talks-morrisonNo progress in QPR’s talks with MorrisonBy David McIntyre 31/01/2017 QPR are still speaking to Ravel Morrison about a potential deal to sign him ahead of the transfer deadline, but by Tuesday lunchtime there seemed little prospect of the move going through. Morrison has trained with Rangers and is looking to move back to England from Lazio, who are happy to let him leave. But the 23-year-old, who had a loan spell at QPR in 2014, would have to significantly lower his wage demands in order for a return to Loftus Road to go ahead. He has failed to make an impact at Lazio since agreeing a move to the Italian club from West Ham two years ago.

From the Offie QPR CLINCH SMITH SIGNINGPUBLISHED 13:45 31st January 2017 by @qprfc - Striker Matt Smith moves to QPR from Fulham - Forward signs a three-and-a-half year deal - He will wear the number 17 shirt QPR have signed striker Matt Smith from Fulham for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, boss Ian Holloway revealed his delight at adding the experienced front-man to his squad, commenting: “I think every team needs a big, strong centre-forward and Matt fits that bill for us. “He’s hungry; he’s fresh; he’s honest; he’s hardworking; and he’s got a massive personality. “He forces defences into mistakes by his sheer presence, look and size, but he’s more than that, because when he’s on song and scoring goals, there’s so much more to his game. His touch for a big man is absolutely exceptional. “I think someone like Conor Washington will really benefit from Matt joining us, because he’ll allow us to play in a number of different styles, which is what you need in this division. “I’m made up with him joining us – the deal we’ve agreed is sensational value for a player in this window.” Smith, who is ineligible to play against Newcastle United tomorrow (Wednesday) night but could be in line to make his QPR debut against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, is looking forward to starting the next chapter of his career in West London. “QPR is a club with a terrific history and heritage so it’s a big honour for me to be a QPR player,” he told www.qpr.co.uk, “I’m delighted to be here and want to take this fantastic opportunity with both hands. “I want to get back playing regularly and help QPR win games. If my goals can contribute to that, then all the better, but as long as we’re winning games, that’s the most important thing. “I can’t wait to experience what it will feel like to pull on a Rangers shirt and play in front of the fans at Loftus Road.” He added: “I know I’ll be judged on my goal return, but I feel there’s more to my game than that – and having spoken to the manager at length before signing here, he does as well. “I want my all-round game to improve here and I’m confident that’ll prove to be the case.” Smith will wear the number 17 shirt at Loftus Road.
