Showing some interest in. fulham striker, lots of poor comments so he must be quite bad. I'm thinking he's on a level with Marc Nygaard...

So we seem to have Goss and are getting Freeman and Morrison. Ollie started the window by saying we had too many in midfield and has cleared it out but if these all go through and with loan recalls we are as overloaded in midfield as six weeks ago. Maybe we should ask for Charlie back on loan - he does not seem to be making the bench even at the moment, (not sure if he is injured) The midfield glut is odd - maybe getting in the players Ollie feels he wants and will assess them over the rest of the season before a cull in the summer. My guess is that if Morrison signs, it will be on trial fro 3 months. As for Charlie, he worked his way up to being Southampton's first choice striker, but got crocked around a month ago. Think I read he'd be out for 12 weeks.

From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/fulham/qpr-fulham-agree-smith-fee-jan30QPR and Fulham agree fee for SmithBy David McIntyre 30/01/2017 QPR have agreed a fee with Fulham for striker Matt Smith. Rangers are looking at potential options after failing to agree a fee with Rotherham for Danny Ward. Smith, 27, has been unable to establish himself as a first-team regular since joining Fulham from Leeds United in 2014. He has made 53 appearances for the Whites, 33 of them as a substitute, and has scored nine goals. Smith scored 11 goals in 20 appearances during a loan spell at Bristol City the season before last. Meanwhile, QPR are set to complete the signing of Luke Freeman from Bristol City and have received an approach from Oxford United for Nasser El Khayati.

From ninetyminutesonline ninetyminutesonline.com/qpr-sign-midfielder-300k-fee-agreed-medical-today/QPR to sign midfielder, £300k fee agreed, medical todayBy Gareth McKnight - January 30, 2017 Queens Park Rangers look likely to sign Bristol City midfielder Luke Freeman before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, with Sky Sports stating that a £300,000 deal is almost in place. The Loftus Road outfit are in the market to bolster Ian Holloway’s squad, with the R’s manager admitting that he wants to recruit a number of new faces in the next couple of days. Freeman has impressed in the Championship with his employers over the last 18 months and has started 14 games this term, scoring twice. The 24-year-old’s versatility and comfort in possession has been an asset for City and clearly attracted suitors. QPR have not had the best season in the Championship, with a 2-1 defeat to Burton Albion at the weekend having the potential to drag the London side back into a relegation dogfight. The report suggests that Freeman has travelled south to undertake a medical with Rangers on Monday, with potential for the deal to be completed before Tuesday night’s deadline.

....and from the Bristol Post Luke Freeman transfer from Bristol City to Queens Park Rangers appears imminentBy a_stockhausen | Posted: January 30, 2017 Luke Freeman was in London today trying to complete his transfer from Bristol City to Queens Park Rangers. Having declined to pen a new deal at Ashton Gate, Freeman refused to play for the Robins at Burnley in the FA Cup on Saturday, effectively signalling the end of his City career. Resigned to him leaving before tomorrow's transfer deadline, Robins head coach Lee Johnson is now determined to extract the best price possible for a player who is out of contract in the summer. Freeman staged talks with QPR manager Ian Holloway at the weekend and was today set to undergo a medical examination in West London. He is expected to pen a two and a half year deal for the Loftus Road club, either this evening or on deadline day. Speaking to the media earlier today, Johnson said: "It's leaning that way (towards Freeman being sold). The fact he didn't want to play in the last game was disappointing to me and sealed the fate of a player who does not want to be here. That being the case, we are happy to move him on." Rangers had an initial bid of around £250,000 turned down by City, who have now accepted a fee believed to be in the region of £300,000 for a player who moved to Ashton gate from Stevenage in the summer of 2014. From westlondonsport more on Goss taking the No 10 shirt www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/goss-hailed-brave-decision-take-marsh-bowles-shirt-number-move-man-utdHolloway has high hopes for GossBy West London Sport 30/01/2017 Ian Holloway believes Sean Goss can fulfil his potential at QPR following his move from Manchester United. Goss, 21, has asked to wear Rangers’ number 10 shirt, previously worn by club legends Stan Bowles and Rodney Marsh, as well as the likes of Simon Stainrod, John Byrne, Roy Wegerle and Adel Taarabt. The midfielder left Old Trafford without making a first-team appearance for United, who signed him from Exeter City in 2012. “I think Sean will blossom here,” said Rangers manager Holloway, who could give Goss his senior debut in Wednesday’s match at Newcastle. “He’s going to take the number 10 shirt, which I think is a brave decision for him. “We need a new Stan Bowles somewhere along the line. We need new heroes here and I know we’re going to get them – we’re going to mould them.” Meanwhile, Holloway is interested in signing Fulham target man Matt Smith.

Coming thick and fast. From the Evening Standard www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/qpr-and-fulham-agree-deal-worth-up-to-1m-for-striker-matt-smith-a3453451.htmlQPR and Fulham agree deal worth up to £1m for striker Matt SmithJAMES BENGE 9 minutes ago QPR are confident of sealing a deal worth up to £1million for Fulham striker Matt Smith. Ian Holloway has been keen to add to his attacking options in the final days of the transfer window and Rangers have had a bid worth an initial £500,000 accepted by their West London rivals. Subject to several clauses in the transfer agreement Fulham could eventually net £1m for Smith, who has started just one game since September. QPR hope to complete the deal by the end of Monday. Rangers had hoped to sign Rotherham striker Danny Ward but Holloway admitted in a press conference earlier today that the club’s attention had switched to “other targets”. Luke Freeman is also expected to move to Loftus Road before the end of the transfer window, with Bristol City manager Lee Johnson confirmed that the midfielder had declined to play in the FA Cup fourth round tie at Burnley. Sean Goss and Kazenga LuaLua have also joined QPR this month, the latter on loan, whilst Tjaronn Chery, Sando and Sebastian Polter have headed the departures.

From westlondonsport some loaning out speculation www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/interest-builds-in-qpr-duo-ahead-deadlineLoan moves possible for Shodipo and ProhoulyBy David McIntyre 30/01/2017 Olamide Shodipo and Axel Prohouly look increasingly likely to leave QPR on loan, with a number of clubs showing some interest ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. Rangers are also willing to loan out Osman Kakay – Swindon are among the clubs to have shown an interest in the right-back – and left-back Niko Hamalainen, while Oxford United want Nasser El Khayati on loan. Prohouly, 19, has not made a first-team appearance since the French forward was signed after leaving Monaco in the summer of 2015. And Rangers are keen for winger Shodipo, also 19, to pick up more first-team experience. With Darnell Furlong and Michael Doughty having this month returned to QPR after an impressive loan spell at Swindon, Ian Holloway recently said he felt Shodipo would similarly benefit from a stint away from Loftus Road. “Every time I’ve put him on unfortunately the team has let a goal in,” said the R’s boss. “It’s not necessarily his fault, but he’s got to work on that other side of it. “He’s brilliant at going forward – absolutely fantastic – but he could probably do with a loan spell. “He is someone I would loan out. I think he would benefit from a little spell like Furlong and Doughty have had. “It’s about having more than just running at someone and beating them. He’s got other elements of his game he’s got to learn – and I know he will. “It’s a big step from Under-23 to first team. When you’re as talented as he is with the ball, and that’s all you’ve been encouraged to do in the youth team and that’s why you’ve stood out, sometimes the team things that you need to do, which might not be your forte, you’ve got to pick them up really quickly. “But I love him around the group and I’d love to play him a bit more. He’s like a puppy with a treat. He can’t wait for a treat. I blow the whistle and he’s there. It’s brilliant. “He’s definitely one that will play for us and will get the fans completely and utterly loving him.” Kakay ended last season on loan at Scottish side Livingston and has since made three appearances for QPR. He is below Furlong, who has displaced James Perch, in the pecking order, while skipper Nedum Onuoha is another option for Holloway at right-back. “Oz needs to go and play and I would definitely consider that,” Holloway said. “I can move Perchy or Nedum there. So yes, I feel he needs a challenge with Darnell coming back. “I think Darnell’s a little bit ahead of him at the moment and they’re a similar sort of age. “I think he’s a fantastic young man who shows a really good attitude. “I really like him and if I can get him out on loan then I will.”

Also from the Offie. Freeman deal done QPR SIGN LUKE FREEMANPUBLISHED 15:30 30th January 2017 by @qprfc Rangers confirm signing of Bristol City midfielder … - QPR complete signing of Bristol City's Luke Freeman - Midfielder moves to Loftus Road from Ashton Gate - 24-year-old pens three-and-a-half year deal MIDFIELDER Luke Freeman has joined QPR from Bristol City. Freeman has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road, after Rangers agreed an undisclosed fee with the Robins for his services. His arrival follows hot-on-the-heels of Sean Goss becoming Ian Holloway’s first permanent signing of the January transfer window on Saturday – and the R’s boss is delighted to have added more strength to the Hoops midfield with the addition of the 24-year-old. “I’m delighted we’ve managed to get this one over the line in this window,” Holloway told www.qpr.co.uk. “I’ve been a great admirer of Luke’s for a long time. I’ve seen a lot of him as he’s gone from strength to strength at Bristol City, so I’m really pleased he’s on board now. “His creativity is something I think we’ll really feel the benefits of – he’s got a wand of a left foot. “He can play in three or four positions too, which is really beneficial for us. “I think he’s a leader on the pitch too because of the way he always wants the ball – and I think QPR fans will love him for that because he will wear the Hooped shirt with pride. “For me, he ticks all the boxes in terms of what I want. He’ll give QPR absolutely everything.” Freeman, who will wear the number 2 shirt, expressed his delight at putting pen to paper on the eve of deadline day, commenting: “I’m really pleased to be here and to get the deal sorted in this window. “I feel there’s great potential for me to improve here as a player and kick on from what I’ve achieved in recent years with Bristol City. “I’m hungry, enthusiastic and determined to keep improving. I can’t wait to get going for QPR now.” Freeman added: “The manager and Les really sold the club to me and what they want to do here over the coming years. “When two men who have played for the club speak to you about what they want to achieve in the future, you can’t help but listen – and their passion for QPR really shone through. “As a new player coming into a new club, that’s fantastic to hear.” Freeman will be eligible to make his QPR debut against Newcastle United at St. James Park on Wednesday evening. Hi Bow Sure I read an article last week from Ollie saying good now to have money to spend after Chery sale. If we already had these 4 targets, were were going to get them anyhow werent we even if we had the 4 MIllion? Yooo. Oh yeah not disputing that - I just mean that whilst it may give us some money to spend, it doesn't mean it'll be £4m towards transfers. We'll still be putting money into other stuff and trying to turn a net profit in terms of transfer spending rather than reinvesting it all (I'd hope anyway ). No idea if we were planning to get them all tbh. I guess that's who Ollie wants and then we'll see how much dollar their respective clubs want for them and if/how that fits in with our budget. Imagine selling Chery and Polter puts us in more of a 'can do' situation though.

Anyone else think this is really sad? I'm glad he'll likely get first team football but I thought Shodipo looked almost 'ready' for the league. First Ollie tars him off publicly for not tracking back enough and then gets in an injury prone player from Brighton to cover. Feel it's a shame.

Yeah Port Vale have a decent player fot the rest of the season, shame really but I guess Ollie thinks he needs more game time.

Yeah Port Vale have a decent player fot the rest of the season, shame really but I guess Ollie thinks he needs more game time. That's a good sign - in the current market, a Championship standard player for less than £500k frankly seems an alright deal at the moment. Reminds me of what people were saying elsewhere about the mooted Matt Smith deal - hardly prolific or anything and a £1m seems pricey but then, in the context of prices for Championship strikers..? I guess that's what the market's like. Def a shame - I mean, if he's not going to factor in Ollie's plans this season then by all means I'd rather him be playing regular football than not. I guess, worst case, if we wanted to sell him then that's also half a season of regular football at a good standard under his belt too. And if we get him back, hopefully he'll be all the better for it. Just would be nice to see him getting more games rather than us bringing in a more established loan in Lua Lua.

I think there is more chance one of the two players we are going to Loan Swindon, that one of them could be a permanent deal? I think Swindon currently already have about 6 loans.

Yes in that I would like to see him play in our team & I think he should be. No in that I would prefer him to have game time & develop rather than sitting on a bench, which I think is all we would offer this season. Manning has benifitted from our change of manager. Shodipo has suffered from it.

Sending players like Shodipo out on loan is very positive. As long as they play regularly they usually come back better, tougher and more experienced. Furlong for example. Shodipo is not quite ready for regular Championship football yet so best to send him out. Likewise Kakay and Hammy. Surely Freeman, Lua Lua and Jolly are better than he is just now? We need to get 5-6 wins in the next 2-3 months to get out of the relegation battle. Shodipo not likely to be a player for that task just at the moment.

Smith confirmed from Fulham. Ravel ? Ward from Rotherham if they change there minds at the last minute? A different surprise Forward ? Centre Back?

If we sign Smith don't think we'll be in for Ward or another striker. If Ravel's grown up a bit and is fit, fancy a gamble on him. No mention in weeks of transfer gossip about a centre back coming in, so not holding my breath on that one.
