Oh yeah, forgot Caulker injured.. Seem to recall he still has another year left on his contract come June, so we will sell him in the summer maybe while we can get something for him, unless Ollie wants to keep?
Yes three young loan players returned
Midfield starting to look a bit light if we get couple injuries, specially if Henry departs. I was hoping Borysiuk would stay.

Midfield looking a bit light?
Providing Goss signs we would have Hall, Luongo, Manning, Doughty, Goss, Cousins (when fit).
Six players for two or three places. More than enough I would have thought!

Maybe Terry but we dont have Cousins just yet and we dont know how fit Goss is yet, was nearly out most of last year with back injury so Ollie might bring him in gently gently. It looks ok but one or two injuries ( hopefully not). I do tend to still count Hall as defence although we know will be playing in his new role under Ollie.

From London Football News londonfootballnews.co.uk/news/confirmed-swindon-town-another-qpr-youngster/Ferdinand confirms Swindon’s interest in KakayBy London Football News 25/01/2017 QPR director of football Les Ferdinand has confirmed that Swindon Town are interested in taking Osman Kakay on loan. West London Sport reported earlier this week that Swindon were among a number of clubs interested in R’s youngster Kakay. And Ferdinand told the Brent & Kilburn Times: “There’s a couple of clubs interested in Osman at the minute. “I need to speak with Swindon about it, as we know they’ve got their full quota of loan players, and this loan would essentially need to be about Osman getting more game time. “They’ve shown an interest though, so we’ll see what happens there.” If Kakay, 19, were to move to the County Ground he would effectively replace fellow right-back Darnell Furlong. Furlong, who impressed while on loan at Swindon this season, was recalled by Rangers’ earlier this month and is now in Ian Holloway’s side. R’s boss Holloway said this week: “Oz needs to go and play and I would definitely consider that. “I think Darnell’s a little bit ahead of him at the moment and they’re a similar sort of age. “I think he’s a fantastic young man who shows a really good attitude. “I really like him and if I can get him out on loan then I will.”

The Ned story from The Telegraph www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/01/25/sunderland-weighing-move-nedum-onuoha/Sunderland weighing up move for Nedum OnuohaBy Luke Edwards 25 JANUARY 2017 • 6:17PM Sunderland are looking into the possibility of bringing Nedum Onuoha back to the club as manager David Moyes prioritises the need to strengthen his defence before the close of the transfer window. Onuoha spent a season on loan at Sunderland under Steve Bruce six years ago and has a clause in his contract at QPR that enables him to leave in this window. Onuoha can play at both centre back and right back, although Celtic are also interested in the 30-year-old and it remains to be seen whether Sunderland have enough room for manoeuvre in their budget to add him to the wage bill. Moyes’ selection problems have been eased a little with the return of Lamine Kone and Didier Ndong from the African Cup of Nations ahead of Tuesday night’s home game against Tottenham Hotspur, but he is still frantically trying to add to his squad.

....and from footballinsider247.com www.footballinsider247.com/celtic-enter-three-way-scrap-championship-defender-cut-price-deal-report/CELTIC IN THREE-WAY SCRAP FOR CHAMPIONSHIP DEFENDER, FREE TRANSFER – REPORT25th January, 2017, 7:28 PM By Will Butcher Celtic are ready to do battle to sign defender Nedum Onuoha on a free transfer, according to a report. The Daily Mail‘s transfer news blog (January 25, 11.34am) claimed that Queens Park Rangers centre-back Onuoha has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for nothing. However, Brendan Rodgers side will have to move quickly if they are to sign the 30-year-old defender, with Greek champions Olympiacos and David Moyes’ Sunderland also believed to be keen. A former England Under-21 international, Onuoha has been one of the first names on the team sheet at Loftus Road, making 29 appearances in all competitions. Onuoha has helped Ian Holloway’s side keep just six clean sheets this season, as the London side continue to struggle at the wrong end of the Championship. Possessing plenty of top-flight experience with the likes of Sunderland and Man City, Onuoha has made 188 top-flight appearances and that Premier League know-how could prove pivotal in Rodgers’ side. With just six months remaining on Kolo Toure and Efe Ambrose’s current contracts, Onuoha could be brought in to provide cover at the heart of the Celtic defence. Football Insider verdict: Bringing Onuoha to Glasgow would be a useful signing to Rodgers, as he looks to provide adequate cover for first-choice partnership Erik Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic. However, Onuoha’s presence in the side could spell the end for the likes of Ambrose and Toure, while Dedryck Boyata and Eoghan O’Connell could also be made surplus to requirements at Celtic Park. Manager Rodgers has a huge squad available to him, and will be looking for an excuse to offload much of his unused squad. The signing of Onuoha could be just that reason in seeing Celtic axe some central defenders. However, after a poor season in the Championship, it remains to be seen if Onuoha has what it takes to boost Celtic’s squad in their continued domination of the Scottish Premiership and likely Champions League campaign in 2017-18.

Five days, sixteen hours to go.... Hopefully we can get someone in today or in the morning that could be included into Saturdays squad.
I feel it could be a fairly quiet day for the bigger clubs in the League on Tuesday and think alot of business will be done on the Monday due to all the fixtures Tuesday night ?

Karl Henry as makeweight for a Freeman deal ? Seems to be something in that, helps us move him on and gets our man so seems practical solution. Bristol City a team going in one direction at the minute, 9 consecutive losses with only a dozen games to go, not looking good for them. They were 16-1 for relegation 3 weeks ago, when we were 4-1 when Mac put those odds up, bet they are not now.

Borysiuk loan back to Poland confirmed Still feel this is a shame. I mean I don't know the ins and outs (homesickness, not fancied by Ollie etc. etc.) but we barely saw him really. As 57 said, the transition into a different league and country is a risk and sometimes moves just don't work out, but I'd certainly have liked to have seen more of him. Why he wasn't being given a run when Henry was getting pelters seems bizarre to me.

I agree with Holloway in a way to give Washington more time yes.
Re Gladwin, dont agree with Ollie here at all.
Gladwin scored his deflected goal because he was playing in League One nothing to do with the fans giving him a hard time. Gone back to Swindon and scored a goal (deflected one at that ) because the fans like him , bullshitee to me..... He is not Championship standard more the reason, not now anyway. Sooner or later anyone will score a goal, they have too.
If he decides to bring him back in a few months and put him in the team again, I expect the same results.
Anyhow are we bombing out players like Borysiuk, are not these the players DOF and scouts have found to take us forward. Yet we get another new manager and they vanish again? Strange
Ian Holloway insists Conor Washington has a future at QPR – if fans give him a chance.
Rangers boss Holloway is unhappy that Ben Gladwin was jeered prior to the midfielder’s recent return to Swindon on loan.
And with Washington having also endured a difficult start to life in the Championship following his arrival from Peterborough last season, Holloway has appealed to supporters to give the striker a chance.
Washington recently returned to full training after injury and Holloway still believes he can make an impact at Loftus Road.
“He (Washington) is a huge part of my plans – I just want people to be patient,” Holloway said.
“Gladwin’s gone back to Swindon and scored a goal because the Swindon crowd like him.
“I don’t feel he (Gladwin) can ever score for us when they keep on chanting at him like they did when I gave him a chance.”
Gladwin is in his third loan spell back at Swindon and recently scored in their win at Bolton.
Holloway said: “Is it rocket science? Are Bolton that far away from us? How can he play for Swindon and score a goal? Work it out yourselves.
“If you had a teacher who screamed at you ‘you’re crap, you’re rubbish, you’re crap, you’re rubbish’ could you actually achieve anything? I don’t think so.
“That’s all I heard and I thought it was unfair and I’ve got to loan him back.
“I was getting pelters. It’s really annoying. I don’t mind that you pay your money and you like certain people and don’t like certain people, but just shout to the ones you do like.
“That wouldn’t half make my job easier instead of picking him up from the floor. I had to pick him up by his braces a couple of times.
“Is he that bad? I don’t think so. Has he got a chance here? I don’t know if people are taking to him like that.”

June Flashback: Joins QPR QPR SIGN ARIEL BORYSIUK Midfielder pens three-year deal QPR confirm first summer signing Polish international Borysiuk pens deal until 2019 JFH delighted with arrival of midfielder QPR have completed the signing of Poland international Ariel Borysiuk. The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal, after Rangers agreed an undisclosed fee with Legia Warsaw for the midfielder’s services. Borysiuk becomes Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s first signing of the summer, and the Rangers gaffer is delighted to have the defensive-midfielder on board. “I am delighted we’ve signed him, because he is a player I really wanted to bring to this football club,” Hasselbaink told www.qpr.co.uk. “I believe Ariel’s game is built for English football. He likes to get stuck in and stamp his authority on games. He's young, committed and plays with great passion. “Most of his good work goes unnoticed, but when he's not playing, you miss him - and that's a good quality for a defensive-minded midfield player.” Hasselbaink added: “The fact he chose us, when he had a number of good options elsewhere, shows me what he is all about. “He is excited about playing in England for QPR and we are excited to have him here. “He has experience of playing in different countries and that will help him. I feel he's very equipped to play in this country.” Borysiuk readily admits the lure of playing in England was a big factor in his decision to swap Champions League football for the Championship. “I am very delighted to join QPR,” he said. “This is a great club with a big tradition. “I had some options but when I was young I dreamed about playing in England and when there was an option with QPR, I didn’t need much time to think about it. This is a great step forward for me. “I am a player who gives 100 per-cent in every game. I think English fans like players like this. “I am a big fan of English football. I just can’t wait to join up with the team, the manager and all his staff. I can’t wait to start.” www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/qpr-ariel-borysiuk-jimmy-floyd-hasselbaink-3148543.aspx

I had to pick him up by his braces a couple of times. “Is he that bad? I don’t think so. Has he got a chance here? I don’t know if people are taking to him like that.” I think Ollie is being too simplistic about Gladwin but he still has a point. If you're a player making a step-up to a new league and you start poorly/confidence is low, will you get better playing under harassment. It was tangible at LR. Whenever he picked up the ball there was an audible change in atmosphere as people almost prepared to slate him. Mis-placed passes or missed shots that most players would get a disappointed sound from the stands for would get booing and anger when he did it. Yeah, it's not the only reason he didn't perform for us, but Ollie is absolutely right to say that it affected him and probably made him worse/slowed his development with us. He's the one who sees the affect on him when he's back in the changing room. There's also a bit of irony here that we're low down in the Championship and Bolton are in the play-offs in league one - we're not talking a giant gulf here. The only positive I can see in us bombing out players at the decision of the manager when identifying the players has been done in part by the DoF and the scouts is that it should prove that it's not Ferdinand making those decisions. They can only put options in front of a manager that are based on the manager's desired spec that fit the club's finances and plan for sustainability. The irony is that, despite this sort of thing proving that it's the managers who have the say-so over who stays and who goes, Ferdinand will still get pelters for "his signings".

They do not sign players and do not get the final say on player retention. It's a check and balance - acknowledging that whilst we are a club that ships managers in and out and therefore transfer business will be occurring (often at crap times of the year, like January), we need people who hold the players that the managers want within certain sensible criteria (right age, right attitude, resale value, potential for development etc.). Borysiuk met those criteria but the absolutely fundamental thing is that if Ollie or whoever else was in the manager's hot seat say they want a player gone, then they make it happen. The Club, Ferdinand and the scouts ensure that when, say, Ollie wants Borysiuk out and a new midfielder in, that job is a lot easier because the previous manager wouldn't have been able to buy, say, Ji-Sung Park when he wanted a new midfielder. So the managerial merry-go-round will probably never stop, but the DoF and scouts ensure that that now means shifting on younger, re-sellable assets rather than high-earning players who are hard to sell. So we'll probably never get away from managers bringing in signings and then us sacking the manager and someone else wanting to make signings. But the Dof and scouting set-up means that that will not mean another Sandro/Caulker/Hoilett scenario.

Maybe its just he is homesick or not the kind of player Ollie wants, who knows Oh for sure, not saying you were, just always feel like it's worth putting out there on a messageboard when so much of fans' (online) opinion goes the opposite way. Certainly not a direct response to you . Same - it seems a massive shame for me to talk the talk about development, polishing up gems and then binning them off. As you say, maybe it is homesickness and that's straightforward. If he's not Ollie's type of player then I think that's disappointing as he seemed to have some good potential there and I'd have liked to have seen how he did with a longer run of games. The only solution in the future for situations like this is to give managers a lot more time with the players they picked up or you have a more rigid setup where player retention is influenced more strongly from above at Club level - quite normal in Europe but not a system a lot of managers in England would ever want to deal with.

On Ned... What, 15 games before he'll have to drop back down to the Championship...?? He was there before and played well for them. Sunderland have made a habit of last minute escapes from relegation so I wouldn't put it past them to do it again. Its so tight down the bottom of the Prem at the moment, no ones been cut adrift yet. So, why wouldn't he go there genuinely believing he could help keep them up?

Independent
Queens Park Rangers are set to sign Sean Goss from Manchester United for an initial fee of £500,000, with the potential to rise to £800,000. He will finalise personal terms and undergo a medical tomorrow before completing his move to Loftus Road before the weekend.
The midfielder will be Ian Holloway’s second signing of the January window after Kazenga LuaLua and is expected to be part of QPR’s squad for Saturday’s Championship game at home against Burton Albion.
Goss has six months left on his contract at Manchester United and has rejected a new deal at Old Trafford in pursuit of first-team football. He could have waited until the summer to sign a lucrative deal with an interested Premier League club but has decided to leave this month. Wigan Athletic and Barnsley were also keen on Goss but after a positive meeting with Ian Holloway earlier this week he has chosen to move to Loftus Road.
Goss is a lifelong Manchester United fan who was signed at the age of 17 after impressing in the AEGON Future Cup in 2012. A naturally gifted left-footed midfielder, who has also played at left-back, Goss has always been highly rated within United. He was on the fringes of the first team under Louis van Gaal but missed most of 2016 with a stress fracture to his back. Rather than staying at United he has decided to seek first-team football in the Championship, starting this weekend.
Ian Holloway has been putting his stamp on the QPR squad this January, bringing in Goss and LuaLua, while moving on Sandro, Tjaronn Chery, Sebastian Polter and Ariel Borysiuk. After a difficult start Holloway’s QPR are not unbeaten in four games and have moved back into mid table.
