Had a good read through loads of Man U boards comments re Goss. Couldnt find one single bad report about the lad, so thats a real positive. Lowest valuation was 375k paid to highest of 550k. Good that Exeter will get a few bob from the sale too. www.redcafe.net/threads/sean-goss.356125/page-7

West London Sport - Henry should not have been given QPR contract, says Holloway By David McIntyre 24/01/2017 www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/henry-not-given-qpr-contract-says-hollowayIan Holloway says he would not have given Karl Henry a new contract had he been QPR manager in the summer. Henry has been told to find a new club by Holloway, who recently recalled Michael Doughty from a season-long loan at Swindon and has also decided Ariel Borysiuk is surplus to requirements. Henry, who turned 34 in November, signed a one-year deal at Loftus Road in the summer after being handed the chance to stay on as a squad player under Holloway’s predecessor Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. “I’ve had to be harsh and say ‘Sorry, I wouldn’t have kept you last summer’,” Holloway said. “Just because my idea is different to Jimmy’s doesn’t make it right or wrong. He (Henry) is dealing with it in the proper way. Henry has made 119 appearances for QPR “I personally wouldn’t have let Doughty go out on loan and if Karl Henry was here and he had a year (left on his contract) I would have kept both of them. “But I wouldn’t have re-signed Karl. I would not have signed on someone who’s 34-stroke-35 and not given him another opportunity to play. Karl knows this. “But Jimmy decided to do that. What can I say? Is Jimmy right or wrong? It’s not even relevant. The fact is I want to play a different way than Jimmy did.” Having a think Holloway has also suggested that Henry, who joined QPR from Wolves in 2013, could choose retirement rather than an opportunity to extend his career elsewhere. He said: “Karl’s having a think about the rest of his life. Does he need to do this now? He’s had a very, very good career. “I don’t know what he wants yet. Does he want another year? If I was as fit as him and as good as him I would definitely want to keep playing, but does he? I don’t know. “He’s a fantastic man and if he stays here I will involve him as I have been involving him. “I haven’t had to do anything horrible and throw him with the kids or anything like that, because he’s a fantastic pro. “If there’s anyone out there who wants a fantastic pro who can play in midfield for this year and next year, it’s definitely Karl, so do it. “He would get a massive thumbs-up from me to anybody who wants a senior pro to help their group.”

Good to hear 57. In my experience though, these things soon spiral though. Hence now Henry Tweeting Holloway was disrepectful to a previous Manager a few minutes ago.
QPR man confirms fall-out with Holloway
By West London Sport 24/01/2017
QPR midfielder Karl Henry has confirmed on Twitter that he had a fall-out with manager Ian Holloway.
West London Sport recently revealed that Henry had been told to find a new club following a row with Holloway.
Responding to more comments from the R’s boss – this time suggesting Henry should not have been given a new deal – the player said he had fallen out with Holloway after the current boss had criticised his predecessors.
Henry accused Holloway of being “disrespectful” and has since been told he will not play for Rangers again.

....and from the offie CHERY LEAVES FOR CHINAPUBLISHED 13:45 24th January 2017 by @qprfc Dutchman departs after expressing interest to leave … QPR confirm departure of Tjaronn Chery Dutchman departs for Chinese club Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng Rangers boss Ian Holloway explains how move materialised QPR attacker Tjaronn Chery has joined Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng. The Dutchman, who had 18 months left to run on his contract at Loftus Road, has moved to the Chinese outfit for an undisclosed fee. Chery joined QPR from FC Groningen in July 2015 and made 47 starts and 15 substitutes’ appearances, scoring 14 goals. QPR boss Ian Holloway told http://www.qpr.co.uk: “Tjaronn approached me a few weeks ago and told me he wanted to leave. “When he heard of the interest from Guizhou, he made it clear that was a move he wanted to pursue. “Whilst it’s disappointing to lose a player of Tjaronn’s ability, I only want players at QPR who want to be here. “As a manager, when a player tells you he wants to leave with 18 months left to run on their contract, it’s in the club’s best interests to part ways and bring in players who want to play for the club.” The club thanks Tjaronn for his services to QPR and wishes him all the best for the future. The local Perth paper, The West Australian's take on the Luongo China offers story. thewest.com.au/sport/soccer/luongo-snubs-multiple-china-soccer-offers-ng-s-1663243Luongo snubs multiple China soccer offersEmma Kemp Tuesday, January 24, 2017 5:00PM Socceroos midfielder Massimo Luongo has revealed he regularly snubs mega-money offers from China to continue his pursuit of an English Premier League career. With several national teammates already plying their trades in the Chinese Super League, Luongo concedes such outrageous figures can be a distraction. But the 24-year-old Queens Park Rangers player is determined to stick it out in the Championship in a bid to further establish himself in England, where he's played his entire senior career. "Probably once a month there's always someone trying to get me over there - an agent or someone who could probably profit from it as well, but it doesn't interest me," Luongo told beIN Sports. "When the figures start flying about it does start to get in my head, then when I see what my mates are on or Diego Costa or whoever's flirting with it at the moment. "But I still want to prove myself at the highest level I can here." To date, Luongo's career progression has been a slog. A member of Tottenham Hotspurs' youth team, he made one first-team appearance before permanently moving to League One outfit Swindon Town. In 2015 the Asian Cup player of the tournament rejected a switch to then Premier League side Aston Villa in favour of regular club football at relegated QPR. Luongo said his agent contrasted his situation to that of former Spurs youth teammate Harry Kane, who stayed at the club to become one of the best strikers in the world. Yet he urged his client to keep "doing it the hard way". "And I don't regret any of my choices," Luongo said. "Leaving to Swindon on a permanent was the best thing I could have done, just getting first-team football was what I wanted and I proved myself at that level. "At the moment I'm trying to prove myself at Championship level, I think I'll be better off if I do that and hopefully get to the top." The decision to stay put will likely reap international rewards for Luongo. The 24-time Australian midfielder is playing every week for QPR - a key selection factor for Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou as crucial World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup approaches. His compatriots in China may soon encounter difficulty on that front, after the Chinese Super League unexpectedly reduced the number of imports allowed on the pitch from four to three. Trent Sainsbury (Jiangsu Suning), Apo Giannou (Guangzhou R&F), Robbie Kruse (Liaoning Whowin) and Ryan McGowan (Henan Jianye) all currently play in the competition. Sainsbury is particularly up against it to retain a starting spot in China against the likes of Brazilian stars Ramires and Alex Teixeira, Korea's Hong Jeong-Ho and Colombia's Roger Martinez. Matthew Spiranovic may also struggle for quality club soccer after Hangzhou Greentown were relegated to the second division.

From westlondonsport. Ollie says we're still keen on Freeman but laughs off Fraizer Campbell to Loftus Rd rumour www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-luke-freeman-bristol-city-crystal-palace-fraizer-campbell-jan23QPR still eyeing deal for Bristol City’s FreemanBy David McIntyre 23/01/2017 QPR are still discussing a potential deal to sign Bristol City winger Luke Freeman. City recently rejected an offer from Rangers for the 24-year-old, whose contract is due to expire this summer. The R’s are likely to look to sign Freeman on a pre-contract agreement for next season if he does not sign a new deal at Ashton Gate and talks between the two clubs do not persuade City to sell. QPR manager Ian Holloway has suggested he has given up hope of a deal to sign Freeman – and has criticised City boss Lee Johnson for commenting on the situation. Johnson recently left Freeman out of his squad and said his decision was made because of uncertainty over the player’s future and interest from another club, “I think that’s gone. We had a chance to do something and they didn’t want our offer,” said Holloway. “They’ve let it out at the wrong amount, I know what I offered. A Bristol City fan shouted at me in his car when I was down in Bristol. But get your facts right. “The fact is if you’re letting your players run out of contract and you’ve only got six months to go then that’s your fault, not anybody else’s. “They’ve said all sorts of things and their manager has made statements about it. “If you’ve turned down an offer from someone, why do you have to go out and talk about it? It don’t make sense.” Holloway has also laughed off online rumours claiming Crystal Palace striker Fraizer Campbell could be on his way to Loftus Road.“Absolutely no chance. Not in a million years will Palace let him go,” Holloway said. “And would he come to us? Absolutely not. Could we afford his wages? Totally not. So what a joke of a shout that is.”

Interesting twist and if true it gets back to an early topic - Holloway keeps demanding respect but does not show respect to others - not a good management technique in any profession. I'm sure he probably just gets carried away and does not mean many of his comments to come out in that way, but he needs to think about it. For example what is the point of him going on about JFH's decision to give Henry another contract. That can only lead to dispute with Henry or JFH or even with the rest of the management team who sanctioned it. Being open and honest is great but focus on the now and the future and what he wants to do and stop criticising the past. Henry wanted away before Holloway took the job. Unless you know different?

Kilburn Times
QPR remain optimistic they can thrash out a deal for Bristol City winger Luke Freeman before the transfer window shuts.
Rs boss Ian Holloway told the Times earlier this week he felt the opportunity to sign Freeman this month had gone, having already had one bid rejected, however there is now renewed belief around Loftus Road that they can still tie up a deal for the 24-year-old before Tuesday’s 11pm deadline.
Freeman, one of Holloway’s main transfer targets this month, has made it clear he wants to join the Rs and has no intention of signing a new contract at City as it stands.
He has not featured their starting line-up since the 3-2 home defeat to Reading on January 2, with Robins boss Lee Johnson citing the reason for leaving him out of this squad due to uncertainty over the player’s future.
Rs director of football Les Ferdinand still believes a deal can be done in this window and is not thinking about the prospect of a pre-contract agreement at this time, which would see Freeman sign for the Rs next season, with his current deal running out this summer.
He said: “We’re certainly hoping to get a deal done before the window shuts.
“I always find this window very, very difficult because teams don’t want to let their best players go, and if they know you want them they’ll hold you to ransom for it.
“But we’ve got a week to go yet and we’ll be looking to bring in a few more before the window shuts.”
One of them is highly likely to be Manchester United Sean Goss, who is set for talks with Rs boss Ian Holloway later today after the two clubs agreed a fee of £500,000 for the highly-rated midfielder.
Ferdinand added: “Sean’s very highly rated and the mere factor he is even looking at coming to us is a real positive.
“He’s an excellent young midfielder and exactly the type of player we’ve been looking at. That deal is close to being completed.
“We now need to raise funds to go out and purchase players, so if we can bring a few in who we think will have premium sell-on value, like Sean, then we’re very much moving in the right direction.”

Haha, merci mon ami! Good to see that we're close to making two signings - though wish the club wouldn't comment until they're confirmed - many a slip and all that... Don't really know much about Goss or Freeman, so I'm not getting too excited - I seem to recall a general air of excitement when we signed Gladwin, El Khayati and a few others. But then I guess that's what all clubs are doing at this level, taking a punt on young, promising talent and hoping to bring them on for the benefit of the club a couple of years down the line, either n terms of success on the pitch or as a saleable asset.

HITC
Queens Park Rangers have joined the race to sign Aston Villa stirker, Ross McCormack, according to a report in the Birmingham Mail.
The 30-year-old forward, who previously played for QPR's London rivals, Fulham, has recently been involved in a very public falling out with Villa manager, Steve Bruce, and looks all but set for a move away from the club.
However, the Scottish forward could be offered a life line by QPR boss Ian Holloway according to the Mail, who looks keen to recruit a new striker at Loftus Road. The London club, who have struggled for goals all season, recently lost forward Tjaronn Chery to Chinese Club Guizhou Hengfeng Zhichzeng, and are now in need of a new striker.
The report goes on to suggest that Holloway would like to add more striking options to his side, though McCormack's wages are a concern. QPR would like him on loan for the rest of the season

His wages might be a bit steep. Also, there are rumours that Steve Bruce got a bit fed up of him. Apparently, him not turning up for training was one reason.

I would imagine our only interest was loan. Cant imagine under our current ffp etc we would suddenly go spending large. I guess if Derby or Sheff W wants to buy him outright that will happen if valuation met. They might want loan too, he would rather play off scrap than rele scrap I guess.

Remember there are a full set of Prem and Championship fixtures next Tues and Weds. Tuesday being when the window closes.....
When does the transfer window close?
The 2017 winter transfer window, which opened on January 1, will close on Tuesday, January 31 at 11pm.
However, clubs can complete transfers after 11pm if they have submitted a 'deal sheet', asking for more time to file the complete paperwork. This can extend their deadline until 1am in some circumstances.
Do European leagues have different dates?
According to FIFA, the German and French transfer windows open and shut at the same time as in England, but Spain's opened on January 2, while Italy opened for business on January 3. Both Spain and Italy also shut on the 31st.
Will players signed on the Monday before deadline day be available for the midweek fixtures?
There are 14 Premier League teams in action on deadline day, with the remaining six playing the next day. To be eligible for those deadline day games, players will have to be registered to their new teams before midday Monday. Likewise, players signed on deadline day must be signed by midday if clubs want to use them on the Wednesday.

Ariel Borysiuk is set to complete a return to Poland this week, according to Sky sources.
The QPR midfielder is in advanced talks with Polish league leaders Lechia Gdansk, where he spent 18 months earlier in his career.
Rangers signed Poland international Borysiuk from Legia Warsaw in the summer, but the 25-year-old has started just eight Championship games.
