Lots of interest in Darnell Furlong according to HITC: Let's hope that Ollie keeps playing him then. If Perch returns to the team ahead of him then Furlong would be a fool to stay. I wouldn't be in a rush to sign a new contract if I was Furlong. Plenty of time to sign that in March/April IF he has beeen playing regulary. If Perch has been preferred, it would be time to say goodbye. This may actually help to persuade Ollie that Darnell should be his first choice right back.

The full report on Ward 5 mil valuation from westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/rotherham-name-price-qpr-target-wardRotherham want £5m for striker WardBy Matt Barrett and David McIntyre 19/01/2017 Rotherham boss Paul Warne says his club want £5m for Danny Ward and that three clubs have made offers. QPR have had bids of £1.2m and £1.5m for the Millers forward rejected. There have been reports that Rotherham have received a bid of £2m from a Championship club. But Warne said: “I have been made aware of a few bids, but they are not as big as £2m. “If a £2m bid had come in, it’s nowhere near enough anyway. It would be rejected. “If anyone can tell me of a £2m striker I could get in who would play the way Danny does, they’re better at football than I am. “I spoke to Danny this morning. I’ve always been really honest with him. I think the world of him. “I said to his face: ‘If you can come back with anyone under £5m who you think is better than you, please do and I’ll sell you for the same figure.’ As of yet, he hasn’t been back to me. “I am aware that three clubs have put proper bids in and I’m aware that all three have been turned down.” Warne was speaking at a press conference after Ian Holloway had earlier suggested QPR are ready to end their pursuit of Ward and had not been given an indication of Rotherham’s asking price. “We’ve done what we needed to do,” said the R’s boss. “They haven’t given us an idea of the fee they want, so it’s a bit of a stalemate so we’re moving on.” Ward, 25, has scored 10 goals for Rotherham this season and a number of Championship clubs are showing an interest in signing him. Rangers have also been in talks with Bristol City over a potential deal to sign Luke Freeman. The club are hoping City will agree to sell given that the winger’s contract expires in the summer. “We’ve been targeting players who are out of contract, but unfortunately Danny Ward isn’t,” Holloway said. QPR are also interested in Manchester United midfielder Sean Goss.

A week since the deal was supposed to have been done and no news? Maybe Ollie should have given an update on this one as well as taking about Ward. All looks a bit sus to me. If it's been done then tell us. If not tell us what the hold up is! International clearance, what?!

From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/holloway-says-wants-three-playersHolloway says he wants up to three more playersBy West London Sport 20/01/2017 Ian Holloway says QPR are looking to sign up to three more players during this month’s transfer window. The Rangers boss has added to his squad by signing Kazenga LuaLua on loan and recalling Darnell Furlong and Michael Doughty from their season-long loans at Swindon. But with League clubs no longer to make loan signings outside of the transfer window, Holloway is keen to bring in reinforcements – particularly in attacking areas. “Because of the new rules that we can’t have emergency loans, we’d all like a full quota of full-fit players,” Holloway said. “I’m just concerned at the moment if we get one or two injuries – if I lose Jamie Mackie again, if I lose Sylla or Pawel – but things are ticking over quite nicely. “I’m trying to cover those eventualities and trying to bring in a couple of new faces. “Furlong and Doughty feel like new signings, plus LuaLua is a new signing, so that’s three already. “I don’t need that many more. But we’re working our socks off to bring in maybe one, maybe two, maybe even three more.”

Ryan Manning has signed a new contract, extending his deal to summer 2019

Manning - a couple of months ago he was unwanted and told he could leave. Then after 3 good games he is given an extended contract and wage increase. He has looked good but: Thoughts: 1. I thought transfer and squad decisions were taken by a consensus of manager/coaches/LF/Hoos etc. and expected that contract extensions would fall in the same category. We have a new manager yes but are we to believe that the rest in that consensus have admitted they were wrong or changed their minds so quickly or is it that the manager has more say than we are led to believe. 2. Appears to be a sudden change after just 3 games at this level, given that he did not play in the first team before. We have not seen what happens when the opposition sit on him and the going gets tough - today will be a big test up against Fulham's midfield especially if Cairney and Parker are on the pitch. I suppose the situation is no different to signing someone from a lower league and giving them a chance but he has been with us for some time and we should have had a better idea of his capabilities prior to now. I really hope it works out for him but if not we are stuck with him for 2 more years with egg on a few faces. 1. I imagine the manager would be in the best position to recommend to the others whether a player has a future at the club before they come to a census. Looks like JFH didn't see anything in Manning and he managed to convince the others. As I'm sure you know, a player can change greatly under a new manager and, no doubt, Ollie's seen what he can do and has obviously managed to persuade the others that he has a future at the club. 2. How sudden is that change? He may have only played in those 3 games but Ollie will have had him training with the 1st team before that. As for being with us for some time, it's not always about a player's ability, but often about how they're managed and motivated.

I liked he way we look in the last few games but will still need some more attacking options.
Despite having to tread carefully what with FFP to get anyone worth having we are going to have to roll the dice and gamble in the market. For instance I am not sure whether having lodged a 1.2 and then a 1.5m bid for Danny Ward we should just be walking away again? If we have to pay a bit more then so be it.
A couple of targets have already gone elsewhere if we don't cough up on one or two we will be left wanting on the 31st January.

He was on the bench for this afternoon's game. Came on for the last half hour but didn't score.
If you're bottom of the league why would you keep a 5 million quid striker on the bench?

From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/bit-sloth-holloway-says-qpr-slow-transfer-dealsQPR slow to pursue targets – HollowayBy David McIntyre 21/01/2017 Ian Holloway has suggested he wants QPR to move quicker to sign his transfer targets. The Rangers manager is keen to bring in a number of players, including Bristol City winger Luke Freeman, Rotherham forward Danny Ward and Manchester United midfielder Sean Goss. Speaking after Rangers’ 1-1 draw at home to Fulham, Holloway said: “If I get the three players I’m after, I’m going to be buzzing. So watch this space. “And I might have to watch it, because we’re not exactly a cheetah out of the blocks at the minute to go and get who we want. “We are a bit of a sloth. But we might get there. I think the tortoise won that race with the hare. So let’s see.” Holloway was full of praise for his current players, particularly youngsters Darnell Furlong and Ryan Manning, after the action-packed derby at Loftus Road. Irish midfielder Manning put Rangers ahead with his first goal for the club. Holloway said: “I don’t expect Ryan Manning to go out there and outplay someone like Tom Cairney. Not yet. Maybe in a couple of months time, but not now – it’s too early for him. “It’s been a terrific couple of weeks for him. He’s a great lad and I’m really pleased for him. “He’s helping our group start to believe and start to get over issues and get over problems.” Furlong, meanwhile, had another promising game at right-back. “He’s getting better all the time. I really like him,” Holloway said.

Manning excites me greatly as a player.
I think we've found a good un there and next season may well see him develop into one of the best players in the Championship. He already looks like a boss out there in midfield, so very happy with him signing an extension.

I have seen him play two games and thus far he has made more of a positive impression than some others in the first team. Is Sylla there for entertainment value or as a goal scorer because he certainly missed more than two definate goal scoring chances. Manning shows to me that you don't have to wait until a player turns 21 to give him a run in the team. Every game he plays he will gain experience from.

Holloway seems to back up my last post with his comments. We need to be acting more decisively and be quicker to get our targets over the line before others get alerted and they ebb away from us.
I totally get the fact that we can't be frivolous in our spending but the market has set a high bar for transfer fees and we can't just always expect to pick everyone on the cheap.

It would be nice, but is not always possible. Delays can be caused by the club we are trying to buy from or the player (or his agent) trying to get a better deal. We are totally correct to stick to our guns and not pay over the odds for transfer fee, wages, signing on fees, agent's fees etc. I've still not seen official notification that the Chery transfer has gone through. We may need that ratified before completing elsewhere.

RE Brandom Adams Four Four Two Young QPR striker needs to prove himself to play, says Perlis coach image: images.cdn.fourfourtwo.com/sites/fourfourtwo.com/files/styles/image_landscape/public/brandon_adams_qpr_0.jpg?itok=y1PlvXEUPerlis coach Razip Ismail concedes he knows virtually nothing about his club’s new loan signing from Queens Park Rangers (QPR), teenage England striker Brandon Adams, expressing only his “hope he is a good player”. by Hardeep S. Published 1 hour ago On Sunday, the 19-year-old signed a new one-year contract with QPR and also agreed on a season-long loan move to Malaysia Premier League outfit Perlis. Frankly, I do not know anything about Adams. I tried searching for his videos on YouTube but could not find any - Razip Ismail The deal was made possible following the good relationship between Malaysia's Tony Fernandes, who is chairman of QPR, and the Football Association of Perlis (FAP). Adams has arrived in Kuala Lumpur and is expected to report to Razip in Pasir Gudang on Thursday, where Perlis are due to face Johor Darul Ta’zim II (JDT II). The striker had a stint with Ryman League club Staines Town early this season in England and will need to prove himself before being given an opportunity with the Northern Lions. “Frankly, I do not know anything about Adams. I have never seen him in action. I tried searching for his videos on YouTube but could not find any,” Razip told FourFourTwo. “I hope he is a good player as we are short of quality strikers in the team. Not every foreign player can adapt with the football in Malaysia. image: images.cdn.fourfourtwo.com/sites/fourfourtwo.com/files/styles/inline-image/public/brandon_adams_perlis_qpr.jpg?itok=ouZtVgYzAdams signed a contract extension with QPR on the weekend “The weather is an issue for most of them, but I hope Adams will be able to adapt with our game style and also the conditions here.” Razip added that he won’t rush Adams immediately into the Perlis starting line-up. Adams needs to prove himself as I will not hesitate to drop him if he does not fit my plans “I need to get to know him first before I can take the next step and groom him for matches. Basically, I need him to settle down in all aspects. I believe he is still inexperienced and will need time. “I believe Adams is part of QPR’s project to develop players for the future and that they will be monitoring his progress at Perlis. “I thank Fernandes and QPR for loaning us a striker. However, Adams needs to prove himself as I will not hesitate to drop him if he does not fit my plans.” Adams had unsuccessful trials with Tottenham Hotspur and Norwich City earlier in his career before being offered an opportunity by QPR. Perlis’ other foreign signings are Jamaican defender Damion Stewart and South Korean midfielders Park Yoon Joon and Oh Kyu Bin. In their opening MPL match last week, Perlis were held 1-1 by Armed Forces in Kangar. From westlondonsport. Looks like Goss is on his way to Loftus Rd www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-offer-man-utd-midfielder-acceptedQPR have offer for Man Utd midfielder accepted
By David McIntyre 23/01/2017 QPR have had an offer for midfielder Sean Goss accepted by Manchester United. Goss is set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms ahead of a proposed permanent move to Loftus Road. The Germany-born 21-year-old, who can also play at left-back, joined United from Exeter City in 2012. He is yet to make his senior debut but has been an unused substitute for United and was last month invited to train with the first-team squad by boss Jose Mourinho. A number of Championship clubs have expressed an interest in Goss, who spent much of last year sidelined by a back problem.

A number of clubs are reportedly interested in the 26-year-old, who has scored 19 goals for League One side Rovers this season. Holloway believes Taylor is capable of scoring goals at a higher level but he does not fit the bill for Rangers, who are looking for an experienced target man. Holloway said: “He’s a very good player who belongs to Bristol Rovers and I shouldn’t talk about anybody else’s players. “There are a lot of players who step up a level and can score. But it’s about the balance I need – the pace and power to move the ball from back to front sometimes if Idrissa Sylla’s injured. “Have I got anyone who can do that? I’m not so sure I have, and Matty Taylor isn’t really that sort of player.”

It still feels like to me it's pretty much sorted and we're just being very cautious. Far rather be late in the announcement than risk having to do an embarassing retraction. Normally I'd say it would purely be down to form and attitude - if he's training well, wants to play and fits into Ollie's tactical plan then he'd play. But Ollie feels like someone who'd hold a grudge if he perceives Chery to have had a bad attitude in terms of wanting to leave.

QPR will listen to offers for Ariel Borysiuk ahead of this month’s transfer deadline.
The Polish midfielder, signed from Legia Warsaw last summer, has failed to impress Ian Holloway.
Rangers will consider a loan or permanent move for Borysiuk, who has featured only once for them this month.
Borysiuk, 25, has made 12 appearances for the club since his arrival in west London.
Rangers manager Holloway is keen to revamp his midfield.
An offer for Manchester United’s Sean Goss, 21, has been accepted and Michael Doughty was recently recalled from a season-long loan at Swindon.
Borysiuk has become surplus to requirements along with Karl Henry, who has been told find a new club following a fall-out with Holloway.

Nothing bad about him but we dont really wanting skulking in the background until June, even if he is playing with youngsters. Do we know he is skulking in the background?. He knows he is getting on in age and his playing days are numbered. If he has had a sensible conversation with the club he might be doing a job passing on knowledge and experience to the younger players and maybe getting himself ready to take on coaching somewhere.
I have said recently that I did not think he should be in the first team anymore as we have better options. But he has given us decent service for a few years now and has always given 100% effort within the boundaries of his skill - far more than many others have. So to suddenly portray him as the bad guy and wanting to kick him out completely is wrong imo and does nothing to demonstrate club loyalty to the other players. Once again it is a two way street.
Well he tried passing on his knowledge of the game to Ollie about what formation to play. Been a good servant to QPR, hope we can move him on now for the interest of both parties. If you read my post I actually said there is NOTHING bad about him. Things start festering sometimes, thats all.
