....and from the Mirror www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/fulham-qpr-both-want-nigel-6793982?Fulham and QPR both want Nigel Pearson as their manager after sacking Kit Symons and Chris Ramsey22:30, 8 NOV 2015 BY DAVE KIDD Boss who masterminded of Leicester's promotion to the top flight then their great escape from relegation is the subject of a West London tug-of-war Fulham face a battle with West London rivals Queens Park Rangers to name Nigel Pearson as their new boss – after Kit Symons was sacked. Pearson and ex-Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert are both believed to be on Fulham’s wish list – but Championship rivals and neighours Rangers’ caretaker boss Neil Warnock has also advised their owner Tony Fernandes to go for the former Leicester gaffer. Symons became the fourth Cottagers manager to be fired by owner Shahid Khan in the past two years when he was axed after Saturday’s 5-2 home drubbing by Birmingham. As revealed by Mirror Sport, Khan and his board decided more than a fortnight ago that Symons was not the man to lead a promotion chase for Fulham – but the former Wales defender was given a stay of execution by two convincing wins over Reading and Bristol City. Yet back-to-back defeats by Burnley and Birmingham have left Fulham eight points off the play-off places, with Khan convinced that the Cottagers should be a top-six side after an overhaul of their squad. Pearson is keen to return to management after saving Leicester from Premier League relegation last season and Warnock, who took an advisory role at QPR before Chris Ramsey was sacked last week, believes the former Foxes boss is the right man to take over. Fulham also hope to convince Pearson to move to Craven Cottage. However, they know Lambert, who won promotion from the Championship with Norwich in 2011, is keen on the role – as is another former Villa boss, Alex McLeish. Maccabi Tel Aviv boss Slavisa Jovanovic, who led Watford to promotion into the top flight last season, is also a contender at Fulham – but with several out-of-work managers in the frame, they are unlikely to want to pay compensation. The Cottagers’ search for a new manager will be headed by their chief football officer Mike Rigg, who is a close friend of England Under-21 coach Gareth Southgate but is unlikely to persuade his former FA colleague to take over. Symons, 44, bossed Fulham for just over a year, saving them from a second successive relegation after inheriting German Felix Magath’s dysfunctional squad. Khan said: “No one can doubt the commitment Kit put into Fulham, not only as a first-team boss, but also as a player and a key figure in our academy’s success. “Kit came through for us last year at this time and helped stabilise our club on and off the pitch – and we’re very grateful. But it is now time to take Fulham to the higher level of success we expect, and that our fans deserve.”

Swansea surely not going to sack Gary Monk today, the world has gone crazy. Above the previous years League winners too.

Would Gary Monk be a good move for QPR? We he is realatively new into Management. But any manager that can have a win percent of 37 % in the Prem, almost winning as many as losing is doing pretty damn well in my books. Would Gary Monk be a good move for QPR? I dont have a good feeling about him David Moyes is going to be sacked in the next few hours. I think he is the sort of strong coach we need.

As for Monk...He took over a good team....Can he BUILD one at a lower level?

I think we're far below the Moyes level As for Monk...He took over a good team....Can he BUILD one at a lower level? Makes me laugh the he took over a good team scenario though. Yet some managers take over a bad team and we still dont want them Pulis took over a bad team twice and kept them up and made them better teams .... Yet hardly anyone wanted him last year when available. My target if NW doesnt want it to the end of the season would be Pearson, he took over an average Leicester team and made them a damn good team. Like you say Moyes like Brendan Rodgers wont be interested in our League. I think Lamberts a definite NO while Karsa is working at the club after there fall out.

Of course the other thing Mac is ...
Laudrup a Manager maybe TF or QPR fans like , was of course Manager before Monk. If the squad team was so good, how come Laudrup only had 24 pts after 24 games (6 wins out of 24) Even worse in his last ten games 1 win, 3 draws and 6 defeats was struggling with a good team ?
Monk did come in and get 5 wins for 14 . Or 18 points from 14 games 1.28 per game against Laudrups 1 point a game.
But results in his last 10 games were dire, worse than Ramseys. 6 points in his

Interesting statistics re Sherwood and Pearson (according to the internet so must be correct) Sherwood 50% win ratio Pearson 45% win ratio
Complicating factor is that Pearson has many more draws out of 'non win' percentage. They both would have scored 164 points from 100 games.
What would be preferable?

From getwestlondon www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qpr-job-ainsworth-flattered-not-10410355?QPR job: Ainsworth flattered but not interested - for now08:00, 9 NOV 2015 BY TIM STREET Gaz does nor rule out wanting the job on he future but is happy at Wycombe Gareth Ainsworth admits he's flattered to be linked with the QPR job and it's a job he would love one day – but perhaps not at the moment. The former Rs favourite, who spent seven years as a player at Loftus Road, including two spells as caretaker-manager, has been thrown in amongst the names being tipped to succeed Chris Ramsey as manager. Ainsworth has cut his full time managerial teeth with Wycombe Wanderers, where he finished his playing days, leading them to a great escape from Conference football on the final day of the 2013-14 season. This was followed by taking them to within the brink of promotion to League One last season – missing out on the final day of the season, and then losing the play-off final on penalties – and all on one of League Two's smallest budgets. Ainsworth said: “It's brilliant to be linked as it means I'm doing a good job here, and it's flattering, but I'm working very closely with Wycombe chairman Andrew Howard and I have got a job to do with him here. "If things take their natural course, we will cross that bridge when we come to it, but I'm very happy here.”

David McIntyre/West London Sport QPR hierarchy in Malaysia to discuss new head coach By David McIntyre 09/11/2015 qprles Les Ferdinand flew to Malaysia on Monday morning to discuss QPR’s search for a new head coach with the club’s owners. Several managers have been touted as possible contenders to replace the sacked Chris Ramsey, including Tim Sherwood and Nigel Pearson. Neither are currently being considered for the job but at this stage it is unclear how much of an input Neil Warnock, who favours Pearson, will have on the final decision. Former Rangers manager Warnock was placed in interim charge following Ramsey’s exit, is keen to influence the recruitment process and would like a role at Loftus Road similar to the one currently held by director of football Ferdinand. Pearson, a leading contender for the Fulham manager’s job, was sacked by Leicester City in June following a number of run-ins with the Midlands club’s owners, who are friends of QPR’s co-chairmen Ruben Gnanalingam and Tony Fernandes. Sherwood was lined up to replace Harry Redknapp at QPR last year but Fernandes later became reluctant to appoint him and instead pursued Paul Clement, who was then assistant boss at Real Madrid and is now Derby manager, before eventually installing Ramsey. Former Tottenham manager Sherwood is available, having recently been sacked by Aston Villa, but the Rangers hierarchy do not currently regard him as a candidate. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-wls-ferdinand-flies-to-malaysia-for-talks-with-qpr-owners

From the Express. www.express.co.uk/sport/football/618112/Brendan-Rodgers-latest-spotted-in-London-ahead-of-management-returnEx Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers spotted in London to talk roles at Chelsea, Fulham or QPR?BRENDAN RODGERS has been spotted in London potentially ahead of talks of a return to football. By BRUCE ARCHER PUBLISHED: 14:17, Mon, Nov 9, 2015 | UPDATED: 14:27, Mon, Nov 9, 2015 Rodgers was sacked by Liverpool on October 4 and replaced by former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp. The Ulsterman spent three and a half years at Anfield guiding Liverpool to second place and back into the Champions League. However last season the Reds finished seventh and had started the season poorly. After his dismissal, Rodgers said: "I am, of course, incredibly disappointed to be leaving Liverpool Football Club. It has been both an honour and a privilege to manage one of the game’s great clubs for the last three years. “I have worked every day to represent the club to the best of my ability, to develop both individual players and a team that the club’s magnificent fans can be proud of. "There have been some very memorable moments during my time at Liverpool and I would like to thank all of the players for their hard work and commitment. "The current squad is one in transition, but they have some real talent and are showing a strong sense of togetherness. "I expect to see them continue to grow and develop over the coming weeks and I wish them and my successor well for the rest of the season." Rodgers was linked with a return to management when Aston Villa sacked Tim Sherwood, but last week they appointed Remi Garde. He has been named as a potential caretaker at Chelsea with Jose Mourinho's future in doubt, while there are also openings at Fulham and QPR.

From London 24 Fiery manager cut to evens to be QPR’s Chris Ramsey replacement 14:56 09 November 2015 Pete Evans Nigel Pearson is as short as evens to be QPR’s next manager, ahead of former Chelsea favourite Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Pearson has been out of work since his departure from Leicester in the summer and has been linked with a string of roles including the vacant post at Rangers’ Championship rivals Fulham. But as of Monday afternoon the 52-year-old former Hull boss, whose temper made the headlines last season, is evens with Ladbrokes to take charge at Loftus Road. The bookies currently have Hasselbaink, who led Burton into League One last season, as the second favourite ahead of the likes of current caretaker boss Neil Warnock, Alex McLeish, Tim Sherwood and David Moyes. The likes of Stuart McCall, former boss Ian Holloway and Alan Stubbs also make the bookies’ list of likely appointments. Sherwood’s link with QPR director of football Les Ferdinand means he is seen by many as a possible candidate but with Rangers in 13th place in the Championship he may be setting his sights a little higher. ....and from the Daily Mail Neil Warnock keen to bring in former QPR midfielder Shaun Derry as his assistant at Loftus RoadInterim boss Neil Warnock considering move to bring in Shaun Derry Warnock understood to want former QPR midfielder as part of his team Director of football Les Ferdinand is leading hunt for a permanent boss Paul Lambert and Nigel Pearson shortlisted to replace Chris Ramsey By LAURIE WHITWELL FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 02:55 EST, 10 November 2015 | UPDATED: 02:55 EST, 10 November 2015 Neil Warnock is considering a move to bring in Shaun Derry as his assistant at Queens Park Rangers. The interim manager is understood to want the former club stalwart – a key member of his promotion-winning team from 2011 – by his side during his stay in charge at Loftus Road. Director of football Les Ferdinand is leading the hunt for a permanent replacement for sacked Chris Ramsey with Nigel Pearson and Paul Lambert under consideration. A shortlist will be formed in the coming days. Warnock, who arrived in an advisory role to advice Ramsey last month, could yet take over until the end of the season but at the age of 66 is believed to ultimately prefer a position in the club hierarchy. Derry, who steered Notts County to League One safety when appointed manager in November 2013 before being sacked in March this year, is also among the bookies favourites to take the Cambridge United vacancy. Blind guides leading each other. No doubt this will be another rushed decision with little proper planning or consideration of what this club really needs.

I thought i had read somewhere that Pearson has history with our owners / board. Wasnt Hoo's the one who put him in at leicester and then they had a falling out? Probably the best man for the job but his stats in his first 20 or so games at LCFC were appaling. He'd never mke it to then end of the season with our fans if he repeats that. Nopt sure what the answer is but one thing is for certain. i have ZERO confidence that the board will get it right 4th time around. d love to be proved wrong though. Surely out of pure luck they may get 1 right?
