Luongo got no game time at Blackburn. May well be off then. If that happens I will not be happy to say the least! Absolute disgrace imo. Wouldn't blame him in the slightest

From Turkish Football. Now this is one that I find very to believe! www.turkish-football.com/turkish-champions-hold-talks-newcastle-southampton-target-charlie-austin/?Turkish champions hold talks Newcastle & Southampton target Charlie AustinPosted by Eren Sarigul January 13, 2016 Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray have held contract talks with QPR’s in-form striker Charlie Austin. The Turkish newspaper AMK states that the Lion’s have turned their attention towards Austin after failing to land Leandro Damiao and Ciro Immobile. The report goes onto state that Galatasaray have held talks with the powerful striker with the view of signing him in January for a cut price. Newcastle and Southampton are currently the front-runners in the race to sign Austin according to the Mirror. Galatasaray have been on the hunt for a new striker since the summer transfer window and have previously been linked with Lokomotiv Moscow’s Oumar Niasse and Newcastle’s Papis Cisse. The Lion’s first choice striker Burak Yilmaz has seven goals while his alternative Umut Bulut has only managed two goals in 16 games. Yilmaz has recently suffered a reoccurrence of a hamstring injury keeping him out until the end of January. Charlie Austin has one assist and nine goals in 16 appearances for QPR in the Championship this season.

From Sport Witness. Now who could the target be? sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/qpr-officials-last-night-return-to-france-on-transfer-missionQPR officials last night return to France on transfer missionPosted by SPORT WITNESS on January 13, 2016 at 14:26 in Sport Witness Football Queens Park Rangers sent officials to the game between Bordeaux and Lorient last night according to reports in France. The Championship side have already sent scouts to watch Bordeaux this season. Bordeaux’s official website have confirmed QPR were on the scouting list last night to watch the league cup game between the two Ligue 1 side, and they were joined by West Ham, Arsenal, Sunderland, Borussia Dortmund, Real Sociedad and Wolfsburg. There have been no reports to who the West London side were watching last night, but this is the third time scouts from the club have attended a Bordeaux game this season. Earlier in the season we covered reports that QPR attended the Europa League clash between the French club and Sion. They then followed this up by returning to France when Bordeaux took on Caen last month. Again there were no claims who they were watching, but there is a possibility they are monitoring a player from Bordeaux. Bordeaux have also been scouted by a number of other English sides this season including Manchester United, Man City, Arsenal, Everton, Swansea, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland.

....and it wouldn't be a transfer window without us being linked with Peter Crouch. So here it is. From the Evening Standard! www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/qpr-transfer-news-odds-tumble-on-peter-crouch-moving-to-loftus-road-a3155801.html?QPR transfer news: Odds tumble on Peter Crouch moving to Loftus RoadJAMES BENGE 58 minutes ago0 comments Peter Crouch could be set for a surprise return to Queens Park Rangers after the odds of a Loftus Road move were drastically slashed. The 34-year-old has found himself largely on the sidelines of the Stoke City squad in his fifth season at the club and last appeared in the Premier League in late October. His limited opportunities at the Britannia have seen the odds of the former England international leaving tumble, with QPR 4/5 favourites ahead of West Bromwich Albion (3/1) having previously been priced at 10/1 with Bet Victor. Crouch did make a goalscoring return to Mark Hughes' lineup on Saturday, netting the opener in a 2-1 FA Cup victory over Doncaster. Hughes has admitted that he cannot guarantee the player regular first-team football, though he said he would be loath to lose him. "I can understand that when people ask him straight after a game whether he is frustrated and of course he would be," he said on Tuesday. "We feel he can play more like he does and it wasn't long ago when we gave him a new contract. "It's not a case for us to let people go with the hectic period of games we've got. We'll only let people go if it's right for us as well as them." QPR could be set to lose star striker Charlie Austin, whose contract expires at the end of the season, in January, with several Premier League clubs reportedly keen on a striker who has not played in nearly a month. January transfer odds (BetVictor)Peter Crouch to QPR - 4/5 from 10/1Mile Jedinak to Norwich - 2/1 from 10/1 Andros Townsend to Newcastle - 2/1 from 4/1 Charlie Austin to Southampton - 5/2 from 4/1But even if the 26-year-old remains at Loftus Road Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink may need further attacking options if his side are to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle. Currently sat in 17th place in the Championship QPR are still without a win in Hasselbaink's eight games in charge, scoring just seven goals in the process. Crouch played for QPR during the 2000/01 season in the First Division, netting 12 goals in 47 appearances.

From Sky Sports www.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/10127324/crystal-palace-striker-dwight-gayle-allowed-to-leave-in-januaryCrystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle allowed to leave in JanuaryBy Mark Ashenden | Last Updated: 12/01/16 2:32pm Dwight Gayle can leave Crystal Palace but only on a permanent deal, according to Sky sources. Queens Park Rangers are understood to head the list of the 25-year-old's suitors with Norwich City also linked with the striker. Palace are confident of making a profit on the player they signed from Peterborough for £6m in the summer of 2013. Gayle has scored four goals this season but has only featured in seven Premier League games. He hasn't played in the first team since the 1-1 draw at Everton on December 7. Palace boss Alan Pardew said last weekend that it was unlikely any of his first-choice players would leave in the transfer window, although he admitted some may have to go. "There haven't really been too many rumours about our players going out and I hope it stays like that because sometimes it is fuelled by a player's agent," said the former Newcastle boss. "The fact of it is that we are pretty confident that we will keep all of our best players here. One or two players who are not playing may move on if the bid is right, for sure."

I see Burton have signed another goalkeeper (Bywater) - Maybe there's some truth in the rumour that JFH will raid his old club for their No 1 keeper and let Green go.

It's amazing how inept we look really.
We sign what look like halfway decent players, turn them into dross, and then can't offload them because even if we are willing to let them go on a free their wages are so high they refuse to go because the team that want them actually know what they're doing and refuse to pay them what we do.
Best we can do is bugger them off to the youth team and pretend they don't exist until we sack our manager again and they suddenly reappear in the first team a la Diakite against Hull.

Even better, we put an option in it to automatically trigger an extension to that deal if he played 30 games. All this despite knowing we had FFP to fight and so would need to stop paying high wages! Seriously, this takes being a f*ckwit to a whole new level altogether. Its truly staggering how many dumbass moves one club can make in a single generation.

MacCarthy had a get out clause which he chose to trigger. Sometimes in order to get a contract signed you need to put things in that the player wants that the club doesn't. Sometimes we win (eg Stirling) sometime we lose!
That's modern football for you. Suppose it's always been that way in professional football!

From getwestlondon www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qpr-tells-midfielder-wanted-glasgow-10732032?QPR tells midfielder wanted by Glasgow Rangers to fight for place and ditch ideas of loan move10:17, 14 JAN 2016 UPDATED 11:16, 14 JAN 2016 BY PAUL WARBURTON Rangers Australian international needs to buckle down and make his mark at Loftus Road rather than try his luck elsewhere either in Scotland or the Championship Massimo Luongo has been told he is going nowhere in the transfer window - despite interest from Glasgow Rangers and MK Dons. The shock Ballon d’or nominee has seen his £2 million move in the summer go sour with only 16 appearances for QPR - and just two since the end of October. Rs are understood to have rejected an approach from Dons, and will thwart any interest from former Brentford chief Mark Warburton, now at Ibrox with the Scottish giants. Luongo, 23, was given a starting place for last Saturday’s FA Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest, but since a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Brentford on October 30, the Australian was left out by Chris Ramsey, and has been all but absent under replacement boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Luongo was part of a double deal with Ben Gladwin from Swindon, who likewise met with limited QPR success necessitating a loan back to the club that sold him to Hoops in October and November.

From Football Italia www.football-italia.net/78363/motta-%E2%80%98defining-qpr-contract%E2%80%99?Motta: ‘Defining QPR contract’By Football Italia staff Former Juventus full-back Marco Motta is “defining my contract” with Queens Park Rangers. The 29-year-old spent the second half of last season with Watford, having been released by the Bianconeri, and is looking to remain in English football. “A trial at QPR? It wasn’t exactly a trial,” Motta explained to TuttoJuve. “QPR wanted to judge my physical condition, because I’ve been out of action for a few months. I’m currently in England, I’m happy to be here, and I’m defining my contract, I haven’t signed. “Right now, what’s important for me is the project on the pitch and that’s why I decided to wait a bit of time. That’s what counts for me, and I’m enthusiastically ready for this new adventure. “Last year I played at Watford and achieved, against all odds, promotion to the Premier League. “From there, I fell in love with English football, which I’d known since I played for Juve and Roma against Manchester City and Arsenal.” Motta’s time in Turin was not successful, with the right-back heavily criticised in his first season, then sent out on numerous loans. “There’s no doubt that when there are a lot of changes it takes everyone time to adapt, as Milan have shown in recent years. “Injuries didn’t help, I’m thinking about [Fabio] Quagliarella who did his knee, or my back injury. That forced the Coach [Gigi Del Neri] to change his team every Sunday, and you saw the results of that on the pitch. “There were definitely extenuating circumstances, because it was a Juventus which was coming from seventh-place and has undergone a huge number of changes. “We needed time, but nobody in Italy knows how to wait. We won almost every game against the big teams, the defeats came against the smaller sides. “That was basically the problem. It was a particular period. “Certainly when Juventus finish seventh then everyone is to blame, from the technical staff to us players. Just like when you win, the blame has to be shared. “I learned so much from the experience though, it was a pleasure and I’m happy with the choice I made.”

Too high maintenance a player for a Championship club under an FFP cloud. We could have picked up plenty decent keepers for a fraction of what we pay Green. You could also argue that Palace may have been less inclined to go for AMac if he was a regular starter and not some unhappy kid rotting away on our bench. He was easy pickings for Palace in his position.

Here's the story about West Ham paying 12 mil for Charlie. From the Brentwood Gazette West Ham transfer news: Hammers set to make move for QPR striker Austin after latest Carroll injuryBy Brentwood Gazette | Posted: January 14, 2016 West Ham United are set to spend £12 million on QPR striker Charlie Austin following the latest in a catalogue of injuries to Andy Carroll. The 26-year-old went off with a knock against Bournemouth last night during a 3-1 win on the south coast and the Hammers are now looking for a new frontman. Charlie Austin is thought to be keen to stay at QPR until the end of the season but a number of clubs are chasing the former Swindon man's signature including Newcastle and Southampton. The Saints have moved into pole position following a number of bets but the Hammers are hopeful of striking a deal, despite Enner Valencia's brilliant brace against the Cherries. Carroll had been linked with a Tyneside or Wearside switch with both Newcastle and Sunderland weighing up £15 million moves, but the target man's latest injury has cast any move into doubt. From the Evening Standard www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/qpr-transfer-news-bournemouth-eye-rob-green-with-rangers-hoping-to-shift-40kaweek-goalkeeper-a3157156.html?QPR transfer news: Bournemouth eye Rob Green with Rangers hoping to shift £40k-a-week goalkeeperSIMON JOHNSON 9 hours ago Bournemouth are considering coming to Rob Green's rescue and signing him from QPR this month. Eddie Howe's side are believed to be looking at the England international as a potential replacement for their current keepers Artur Boruc and Adam Federici, who have failed to impress in the Premier League. As Standard Sport revealed last week, Green has been told to find another club by the end of this month or spend the rest of the season watching from the sidelines. Due to a clause in his contract, the 35-year-old will automatically get an extension with the Championship side if he plays 30 matches this term. The former West Ham star, who is on around £40,000-a-week at Loftus Road, has already played 25 times. Significantly he has not been in the squad for the last two matches, with 20-year-old Joe Lumley starting in goal against Nottingham Forest and Blackburn instead. QPR are so desperate to get him off the wage bill they are willing to waive any transfer fee, as long as someone else agrees to pay his salary in full for the last five months of his current deal. Bournemouth are discussing whether they should do just that as they feel Green's experience could help them in their bid to survive relegation.
