Seeing as we are sending out a few on loan, cant we send JFH and Les out for a months loan, get Neil back and then we will have enough points to remain in this Division. Hey, what's wrong with League One??? Nothing Nomar, Jimmys well equipped for that League, might even win one of his first eight games in it for us and even play Luongo and Chery. In fact we could even hang onto Gobern possibly

....and from The Times which has Watford interested in Charlie! www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/article4666945.eceWatford eye Charlie Austin amid fears Odion Ighalo could be lured awayIghalo is expected to be wanted by bigger clubs after scoring 13 Premier League goals this season Paul Childs/Reuters Ighalo is expected to be wanted by bigger clubs after scoring 13 Premier League goals this season Paul Childs/Reuters Gary Jacob Last updated at 12:01AM, January 16 2016 Watford are considering an offer for Charlie Austin, the Queens Park Rangers striker, possibly in anticipation of Odion Ighalo leaving in the summer. Austin, 26, has scored ten times in the Sky Bet Championship this season. QPR wanted £14 million for him last summer but his valuation has fallen as he is out of contract this summer. Ighalo is expected to be wanted by bigger clubs after scoring 13 goals in the Barclays Premier League this season. Watford are in talks with Nordin Amrabat, the Malaga winger after activating the release clause in his contract.

2 Questions 1. Would he pass a medical with his hamstring giving up every couple of games - once they go that badly they nearly always re-occur; 2. Anyone at Southampton we would want in part exchange? Even if could Gayle from Palace as a replacement we would still need another striker or we would be back where we are now
Still Charlie says he is no going anywhere but a move south might tempt him I suppose - especially if pushed.

Watford interested in QPR’s PhillipsQPR are discussing a potential deal to sell Matt Phillips to Watford. West Brom, who had a bid for the winger rejected during the summer transfer window, have indicated that they are still interested, while Bournemouth are monitoring developments. Watford have now also shown an interest but favour a player exchange, whereas QPR want a straight cash deal. Phillips, 24, was signed from Blackpool in 2013 and attracted interest from a number of clubs with some excellent displays during the second half of last season. Rangers demanded £10m for him in the summer but his form this season has been less impressive. QPR are open to offers for a number of players and are especially keen to offload Sandro and goalkeeper Rob Green. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-wls-watford-interested-in-qpr-winger

Wonder what bullshit came out TF and Les's mouth when we signed Gladwin and Luongo in the summer.
Yes, of course we are going places, you will be regular starter in the the team , blah blah blah......
Luongo never plays and looking like Gladwin could well be reloaned out....
Meanwhile lets stick with the lazy brigade..... #lessonslearnt #cluelessclub #reapwhatyousow
17th in Championship, found our level with these clowns in charge.

With the news that Charlie seems to be on his way I think I will actually be glad if he does and I never thought I would say that. All we hear is Charlie is unfit Charlie is staying Charlie is whatever or Fer is going or Phillips is attracting interest.
It cannot be good for team morale for the players we have brought in so let Charlie and a few others go. Get in a couple of strikers and a couple of obvious weak links that need to be strengthened and go back to the square one we had at the start of the season. Then we may see the Luongo Cherry and Galdwins come into their own. We may struggle for th erest of he season but may surprise a few people and as long as we stay in the Championship we should have the foundation of a TEAM for next season;

Gladwin reportedly being loaned to Coventry... Not seen enough of him to judge properly but what I have seen he drifts out of the game for long periods. Maybe a good run in the team would change that.
To be fair though Ramsey didn't seem too keen, neither did Warnock and neither does JFH so maybe he is a good Division One player but not at the Championship level.

Reports of Austin to Southampton for 4 Million. Guess we'll see if true All the papers now reporting this. £4m is p*ss-poor, but better than zilch in the summer. Would be good to now get some of the arrogant, lazy overpaid wasters and rebuild properly. Seems Bamford might be on the radar to replace Charlie. Would be pleased with that for starters...

I love Sky Sports stating the obvious "RANGERS TO REPLACE AUSTIN In addition to the news Charlie Austin is on the verge of joining Southampton, Sky Sports News HQ also understands Queens Park Rangers hope to bring in a replacement for their striker in January" Rangers "hope" to replace him

Rangers do not appear to have learnt - is it worth £4 million to risk relegation - aren't Les and the finance manger (don't remember his name) employed by TF to avoid making these mistakes in the players contracts?

Many months ago I posted that this is a strange league where anyone can beat anyone. More importantly I said that the play off places are decided by the teams that have the best run over the last 10 games of the season. At the moment I would say any of the top 15 teams can still make the play offs. If we can build on today and be within 4 or 5 points of the playoffs with 10 gamea to go we could be in the mix. I do not think we have the team to be promoted and it would not be good if we were but just to get into the mix would be great to see and put us on the front foot for next year I think we have turned 2 corners today -one selling Charlie and getting back to be a team , the other breaking the winless streak. I will not be surprised if we end up near the playoffs but will not be disappointed if we do not. Deciding factors will be what happens now in the transfer window. Losing Charlie and say Green plus Charlie's fee will save us around 6 million over the rest of the season. Invest a bit of that wisely and who knows,

Time for Les to go. His dealings in the transfer market are an embarrassment that have cost the club heaps. Next up Crouch to make a return on 70k per year for four years.

I will be happy with 50-60 pts this year 12-15th place. As soon as we hired Ramsey in May thats where I thought we would finish anyway. Too any mistakes made this year, the wrong Manager by a million miles. Then when we got another Manager, he kept playing the wrong players and so on.
Mission 1 for this season stay up. Mission 2 build on where we finish, get rid of a few and go again next summer. Not convinced JFH was the right man for the Championship, keep us in this division and improve on it next year and I might start believing he was.

From the Mirror too www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/watford-join-transfer-battle-qpr-7191854Watford join transfer battle for QPR winger Matt Phillips with West Brom and Bournemouth22:30, 16 JAN 2016 BY DARREN WITCOOP The promoted Hornets have gone four league games without a win following their impressive start and want to sign two new wide-men this month Watford have joined the £8million Premier League scramble to sign QPR winger Matt Phillips. Quique Flores has sent his scouts to watch Phillips in recent weeks and is weighing up launching an offer for the 24-year-old. The Hornets want to sign two widemen, with Malaga’s £6.5m-rated flier Nordin Amrabat another target. West Brom and Bournemouth have already indicated they want to bring Phillips back to the top-flight this month. And Aylesbury-born Phillips wants to stay near his London home - making Watford an attractive option. Flores is keen to freshen up his jaded squad but is banking on players ending their mini-blip at Swansea on Monday night. Watford have gone four league games without a win, but the Spaniard said: “We’ve had a tough run of games since December. The teams we have played against have been strong. “I’ve been happy with how we’ve been playing besides against Southampton in our last game. That was an accident. “We are not worried about our results and we are in a good position in the league.”

If we can get 2 from Bamford, Crouch and Gayle then that should see off relegation this season. I would be happy with that, possibly Bamford as a permanent signing although I'd expect Chelsea would want more than £4m unless we negotiate a big sell-on clause like we did for Taarabt. Another winger and a RB, then this team should be enough to keep us up.

From the Sunday Telegraph www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/west-bromwich-albion/12103377/West-Brom-place-7-million-price-tag-on-Callum-McManaman.htmlWest Brom place £7 million price tag on Callum McManamanCallum McManaman set to leave West Brom this month, barely a year after signing from Wigan, and targeted by QPR, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth By John Percy 10:30PM GMT 16 Jan 2016 West Bromwich Albion are demanding £7 million for Callum McManaman after QPR and Middlesbrough became the latest clubs to register an interest. McManaman is set to leave West Brom this month, barely a year after signing from Wigan Athletic, and has also been targeted by Bournemouth. QPR and Middlesbrough both made enquiries this week and were told that any permanent deal would cost £7m, almost double the fee West Brom paid last January. The 24-year-old has been mainly used as an impact substitute by Tony Pulis this season and failed to start a Premier League game since September. But any deal for McManaman looks likely to be a loan move after the significant fee placed on the winger's head.
