QPR chairman Tony Fernandes confirmed on Twitter on Friday that the club will be changing its badge. The current design, introduced by former co-owner Flavio Briatore, has been unpopular among many fans. Fernandes said fans will be consulted and suggested the new logo would be largely based on a previous club badge. “I can confirm to all QPR fans that we will look at updating our badge for 2015 season,” Fernandes tweeted. “ Must be done by end of Feb. Feeling is it will be based on Old logo ams refresh. Will get all your views. I’m excited.” www.westlondonsport.com/features-comment/qpr-logo-to-be-changed-fernandes-wls-football

One thing is for sure, some fans will like it and some fans won't. Personally, I'm not too wedded to the old badge. I would like to see something that is contemporary but takes into account our past. No pressure Tony

I imagine Fernandes will be "swayed" by the fans he wants to be swayed by...and it will end up within the parameters of what he wants....

My guess is it will end up being an interlinked QPR in a custom font similar to the previous pre briatore lettering but without the extra detail something instantly recognisable but can be placed in any context or background and any change if colour won't impact on the design
I will put my house on there not being any horseshoes It will be more of a logo than a crest

I like the shield on the present badge, but without flavs hair all over it, don't like the hammersmith badge nor the one thats looks as if it was drawn by a pi$$ed 5 year old.

Sod the badge.
Sort out the new training ground and academy.
Launch the new badge with the new stadium. A old oak in a queens park will do.
Don't need cosmetic changes, need real ones!

Loved old badge as all I knew before the current came in but shield kind of grew on me without the silly feathers ...
Keep looking at this post to see the artful souls amongst us throw some ideas in image wise as I'm useless at that sort of thing .. Sort of when we looked at kits !

DESIGN WEEK - Tom Banks
QPR to engage fans in crest redesignThu, 2 Jan 2014 | Championship football club Queens Park Rangers is looking to redesign its club crest following calls by club chairman Tony Fernandes to engage fans in a process that will replace the current logo, which has been unpopular among many fans. The current logo was introduced by former QPR chairman Flavio Briatore at the end of the 2007/2008 season. Fernandes became chairman in August 2011 and has tweeted, ‘I can confirm to all QPR fans that we will look at updating our badge for 2015 season.’ He added, ‘Feeling is it will be based on old logo. Will get all your views.’ Fernandes says the new logo design will be in place by the end of February. The club has confirmed that this is accurate and that a redesign will take place following a period of engagement with fans but says a firm plan is not yet in place. The club’s marketing department will manage any design development and the club says it does not yet know whether it will design in-house or work with consultancies. In October last year Permier League club Everton chose a new crest after consulting with its fans following the redesign of this season’s badge, which had been designed in-house and met with criticism from some supporters. Last year fellow Premier League club Crystal Palace introduced a new crest that was both chosen and designed by fans. Please no committee badge. It will be the worst of each person's idea for compromise!

Somehow I get the feeling that by "old logo" Tony means the 90s one. Which is fine by me. But you never know with these "versions" and "based-ons", it can get ugly.
If the adjustment will be something like Everton's (eventually turned down by fans), with lots of insight put into it, it should be OK, but these words don't sound too assuring: "and the club says it does not yet know whether it will design in-house or work with consultancies."
They say it will be ready by February (this year?) and that they will consult the fans in the process, but if it is indeed set to be finished by February and the club still doesn't know who will actually design it - isn't there too little time for that - I mean, to consult the fans and to pick a design house?
If it will be done in-house, sounds like a very amateur approach. Even "working with consultancies" sounds a bit dodgy; they should hire a design agency with a team that has previously worked on sports logos.
Otherwise it's just as dilettante as the old Flavio's way - a crown on a football, some hoops, some feathers, bada bing bada boom - that should do.
