Not sure. The old grey cells don't function too well these days but it does look a bit like Ernie Shepherd.

What a hell of a goal-scoring winger Ernie was. Always a pleasure to watch him in action. One of my favourite players in the day.

Well done Bushman with that 56/57 picture...Now thats a proper Kit!
I started watching the R's in 1957/58 and during the 1950's some clubs thought the Hoop shirt was old fashioned and sought change..QPR Doncaster Reading for example.
I was dead against the whim of Alec Stock who in 1959 brought about the return of an outdated hooped strip. We had a great "modern day" kit. There was no need for such a reactionary step backwards.
I should know who that is in the pic..shame on me!
PS NAVY BLUE shorts(or near as) 1953-59..and dont let anyone tell you any different!

Bushy, I think that latest pic might be George Petchey or Bobby Cameron ............................ think I'll go for Petchey but, as I have said previously - it's a long time ago.

All I can safely say is I do not have a clue. I will add, with BMan's time machine he could at least get colour pics so we can see the shorts.

Yes Bushman those 1950's R's players are not very clear in my memory banks and difficult for me to identify..so I reckon they were not "regular" first teamers circa 1957-59.
I'll go for Mike Powell centre half for the first 1956/57 pic...and a wild guess at Alec Dawson or Anderson/Pearson for the second

Bushy, as I have said before, you are doing my head in mate. I am not even going to try to answer this. As we are still going to the hospital for my missus to have her radiotherapy, I don't get many days at the moment when I don't have to drive so I have just had a skinful and not thinking straight. Now off to the armchair for a kip and I'll think about all this later.
