i could be wrong and hope i am but in the last week have heard from various papers etc.
diakite was not ill / injured for the last 3 matches but knew if he played one more game would then have been either stuck with us or legally would have had a problem getting out of a deal.
and now taiwo has apparently expressed his wish to join benfica.
it don't look good that we appear ( only saying appear mind you ) to being used.
if it is true about diakite and the above i find that truly appalling as it could have cost us our premiere league place as he was at the time our most important player .
You could argue what i am about to say and feel free to do so but i feel it is as bad if not worse as MR.Barton because at least joey could have cost us our position on the field instead of awaiting a call from other clubs and not doing a thing to help at a time most needed.
argue all you like but it is what it is.
when i work it is at times beyond the call of duty to make sure the company i work for are secure and also not to let my colleagues down because if my company gets in the crap then so do all those who work for it.
even when in the past i have changed jobs i have done my best right up to the last working minute to ensure i left on good terms.
to act in the way he has (if true and i state if true ) then that truly is appalling and this is the type of act that is far worse than kicking a player and getting banned for a dozen matches.
true Barton will be going and will be replaced with a better midfielder but at least he was on the pitch. maybe if the other one had been then barton may not have been there in the first place.

Maybe the club made up Diakite's 'virus' because they knew that if we went down we couldn't afford his wages??
Don't know what the deal with Taiwo is because there was that interview before the Spurs match where he said if we stay up he will sign as part of the loan agreement.

hi rory well i hope he keeps to his word .
i know there are other players out there but 2 guys both with obvious quality at a young age backed up with faurlin coming back etc would have made a good start for us with who we already have and aquire shortly.

tom, well done for starting this thread, ihave been saying this for the last few days. hope you get some good debate going on this thread. as if i had started this thread, it would have been hijacked by the usual knobs and the topic in question would not have been descussed.
we are defo being used as a shop window by the two loan signings. cant really blame diakite as i feel he is too good for us but taiwo is F***ing usless and i would not miss him in this lifetime

All the negativity starts from the Substanard.
It was debated last week.
Strange why they continue to push out anything that might put a negative or bad light on us???
I concede one individual gives them plenty of amunition.
Perhaps we could ask The Leveson Enquiry to look into it while they are wasting multi millions of tax payers money looking into what everyone already knows.

Not all threads have to stay strictly on topic so that was pointless

As one who always tries to use moderate language and also sees this board as being a "family" thing for sensible discussion, I have to put my hands up and say I take offence that I may be called a knob for merely disagreeing with somebody's point of view. It is unnecessary and uncalled for.

I wouldn't actually be overly bothered if we didn't sign Taiwo. I liked him a lot and thought he was really good for us plus his passion for the club and football was there for all to see but I think Traore is slightly better. Also Taiwo is 27 or 28 now whereas Traore is 22.
I am more bothered about Diakite, I can say I would be very gutted should he go elsewhere.

This is dissappointing news but not really surprising. Every year I see players moving to clubs, holding a shirt, kissing a badge and telling the press how they have fulfilled their lifelong ambition and desire to join QPR (Wigan, Sunderland, West Brom etc). If they are good enough then a bigger club sometimes comes calling and all their fine words are just some much hot air and we find out who their next lifelong supported club is. Staying with our club, how many do you think are genuinely pleased to play and stay with QPR, how many would walk if Man U etc crooked a finger? There are of course sub levels here. If you know you are not quite good enough to get into the team then I am sure you will display a little more 'loyalty' to the club as to be set free to be bought by other clubs who may not come calling would be a little frightening, so they stay. The test is really only there if they are good enough and still stay. Think back a short time to when PSG expressed an interest in Adel. He wasnt interested in QPR any more. I cant say I really blame him and I dont know if in the end it really matters in our pursuit of Prem entrenchment. It would be be a pleasant surprise to know that our players have our club at heart and not JUST their weekly pay.

I'd leave off worrying about these deals until we finally know what is actually happening.

Good. Good to see their Mods showing some responsibility too. Who knows, one day we may be able to reciprocate. I don't know why some people use the MB's the way they do but then barton and his Twitter use springs to mind so it is not restricted just to fans but players as well.

Back to the original thread, then. Remains to be confirmed but little doubt in my mind that we have been used purely as a 'stepping stone' to greater things. Hope I am wrong, though, especially as far as Diakité is concerned. I guess that if he and Taiwo both go, though, and we sign non-African replacements, we will have less weakening of the team in that pesky African Cup of Nations nonsense.

I wouldnt be too worried about Taiwo and Diakite just yet. This is the silly season, 99% of rumours or paper talk is a load of garbage.

Agree: If we have the manager, the board and the backing...the individual "chess pieces" are less important - at least to me.

Yeah: This time last year, they were laying the roots for out relegation struggles - as they left Warnock to "Twist Slowly, Slowly in the Wind"
