And coversely, perhaps the More Warnock says.... West London Sport
Leeds manager reveals text to former bossIt was all smiles to begin with. 23/05/2012 by West London Sport Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he sent a text message to QPR chairman Tony Fernandes after Rangers narrowly escaped relegation. Warnock was sacked as R’s boss in January, with the club above the drop zone and having picked up victories at Everton, Wolves and Stoke. They struggled under his predecessor Mark Hughes and did not win another away match, staying up on the final day of the season because Bolton could only draw at Stoke. Warnock told The Sun: “I’m not bitter, but I texted Tony and said: ‘My three away wins don’t look so bad now, do they?’” www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/leeds-manager-reveals-text-to-former-boss/

Neil’s a text pestNEIL WARNOCK texted Tony Fernandes after QPR’s last-gasp escape to say: My away wins don’t look too shabby now! Hoops owner Fernandes axed boss Warnock in January and replaced him with Mark Hughes. The club was not in the drop zone at the time — having picked up victories at Everton, Wolves and Stoke — and only stayed up on the last day of the season. Warnock, now at Leeds, said: “I’m not bitter — but I texted Tony and said: ‘My three away wins don’t look so bad now, do they?’” www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4332804/Neil-Warnock-sends-Tony-Fernandes-cheeky-text.html

What a stupid comment Neil , what about our home form that was taking us down ! Would have been better just to say well done and leave it at that !

Even since he was sacked he has seemed so bitter.
During the 10/11 promotion season he was really relaxed and everyone loved him but when last season started he turned right back into the Warnock of old (Colin).
He was interviewed on SSN last week and he just seemed angry about everything,

Neil is a legend, but seriously needs to move on, whether its him, Olly, Francis or Hughes, they all have a move on by date

I wonder what message he might have sent if we had not survived or what TF might have sent too NW . Maybe something along the lines of "tactical genius".
P.S I love Neil but he was found wanting at times , square pegs in round-holes.

I'm glad in a way that he's returned to being his 'old self', because it justifies some of the earlier criticism some fans (including myself) had for him around the time of his sacking...in other words, I don't have to eat humble pie again!!
But, all that aside, I can't understand the mentality of the man. He thinks that, because he got us 3 away wins (including one against the leagues punch bag, Wolves) but got thumped at home on a regular basis, that he should still be at QPR? If I was TF I'd have replied
"Yeah we appreciate that, thanks Neil...shame about losing 4-0 to Bolton and 6-0 to Fulham, getting beaten by Norwich twice, Rochdale in the cup and losing our best midfielder for the rest of the season by playing him on a mudbowl of a pitch against MK Dons though isn't it? We (the board) were REEEEEALLY pleased about that!!"
Also, if I was a Leeds fan, I'd be a little concerned that my new manager was far too involved in his previous club, and expect a little more devotion to his current position! After all, he's hardly made a dream start there. They were on for a play off spot when Grayson got the boot. Warnock, imo, wasn't at all focused on the Leeds job. I could be wrong, but he did a far better job with us when he started, and our squad at the time was no great shakes - with the exception of Taarabt.
Oh yeah...actually, he built the team around Taarabt didn't he? A player who was already at the club on loan...where as Leeds lost Howson who was one of their better players maybe?
Sorry, I'm working nights, I'm rambling. So yes, Neil, thanks for the memories, but please just get over it and move on because you're just embarrassing yourself now.

Alqpr81, telling it like it is.
Words of truth, my friend, words of truth. I knew at some point Warnock would revert to type. Leopard and spots springs readily to mind.

Already expressed my view above. The Warnock we all (apart from you) loved from two seasons ago was and always will be a QPR legend. He was a different NW when he was here, not his usual self. Since he was sacked he has gone back to that. Will always love him for what he did here but what he does after I don't really care about, especially now he is at Leeds.

Exactly Rory He saved us from Relegation to Division 3 He guided us to the Premiership He won us the Championship Title And Hitman can disparage as much as he wants (And Warnock can mouthed off as much as he wants!) Nothing will change that

Dont understand all this snideyness towards Warnock ? The guy is a bonafide QPR legend & deserves the according respect! Oh come on...he earned respect for getting us where we are, but by sheer bloodymindedness has subsequently lost that respect by his words and actions. You don't retain respect and admiration for someone after they go out of their way to be a complete arse. Words and actions define an individuals status in the eyes of others, you don't just blindly say "oh well they did something awesome once, so it doesn't matter about everything after that". It's on-going, and unfortunately for Mr Warnock, he's gone down the wrong path in that regard. Not to mention, we're still waiting to find out whether or not he signs that plank El Hadji Diouf. Would you still respect him then??

Sad but true me old mucker...it really is a shame to be honest. He could have continued the embers of his career with dignity and retained the status he had with us, but I'm afraid that would include recognising his laundry list of management flaws during his Premiership tenure with us. Unfortunately it would appear that Neil is not the kind of person to admit when he's wrong. About anything. ...and then he went to Leeds. Oh dear.

I guess the point is that Hitman at no point that I recall ever paid respect even for what Warnock did in his first 15 months. And regardless of what you think of Warnock before he came to QPR or in the last year or the last few months - Warnock deserves respect/gratitude for that

nw as i like to still refer to him still is only trying is luck at getting some credit for us staying up, without him we would be playing stevenage and the mighty bees, even though he needs to put all his energys into leeds(i hate to say it but i hope he fails f**k leeds) but we really have as a club got under his skin, and if something gets under your skin its hard to let go, so to you knockers of nw cut the man some slack.
