And another thing I want to get off my chest about Joey Barton; I think mistakes were / have been made in the way this player has been indulged, the way he is allowed to do all this ridiculous stuff in the media that detracts from his highly paid job as QPR Captain, I think mistakes have been made, that can still be rectified. I dont think I've ever seen a modern professional football player more indulged by the media, the club needs to make a stand at some point, how many publicists does a professional footballer need ?, are interviews about Morissey / The Smiths on Football Focus altogether necessary ? What I'd like to see is someone of intelligence & International business acumen / standing such as Amit Bhatia take Joey Barton out for dinner & explain to him in a friendly way about the way people conduct themselves & professionalism etc, if Joey Barton is as intelligent as he thinks he is, then surely he will take it on board. I havent written Joey Barton off yet. But Barton isn't intelligent. He's really just a moron who happens to have the ability to kick a football around a bit better than your average Joe. He thinks like a fan. But he forgets he's a £80k/week professional footballer with standards to maintain. Had Barton been some Joe Schmoe living in a council flat nobody would give his views the time of day. But Barton has convinced himself that being a Premier League footballer has given him a sense of entitlement to spout rubbish to anyone who cares to listen. Sadly, the media in its ever gratuitous pursuit for a story laps up his opinions as if they are gospel. This in turn further inflates Barton's pathetic little ego, which means he peddles even more garbage.

The whole issue has not been dealt with well by the club either, at the end of the day he is employed by the club, they have a responsibility here & they have a right to say / tell their captain how to behave, so far its been embarrassing, often humiliating for the club & moreso the fans. He took the P!ss out of Neil Warnock, I dont think there's too much doubt about that, I dont see that happening under Mark Hughes, but lets wait & see.
