QPR skipper Barton 'gutted' by Warnock sacking Jan 8 2012 By Jacob Murtagh
QPR captain Joey Barton admits he's 'gutted' by Neil Warnock's sacking.
The 63-year-old was axed by owner Tony Fernandes today after a dismal run of nine games without victory, with Mark Hughes the frontrunner to succeed him at Loftus Road.
But Barton, who was brought to the club by Warnock in the summer, says he's sad to see Warnock leave W12.
He said: “Gutted to hear about the manager losing his job. We have to stick together as a club at times like these and believe in those above.
“Mr Warnock's record at Championship level speaks for itself, no doubt he'll be kick starting another promotion dream before the season's out!
“I'd like to thank Neil, Keith and Mick personally for all they did whilst I was here and wish them all the best in the future.
"As a football club, we must look forward now and try our utmost to attain Premiership status for next season."

Nice one, turn his tweets into a news story and use them in quotes, jesus wept!!!!!
Barton, beat Wigan alone, you'll need to for a small portion of redemption.

Why wouldn't he be/say so? What has he done for you to think he's pleased with it?

Say all you like about Joey, but he is one of the few really class players we have. Now that he will be back for the Wigan game I for one am happy.
Also, being an overseas based fan, it is only because of Joey that QPR has any sort of profile. Tweet on Joey!!

Only about 4 months left for him to stop himself going down as one of the if not the worst QPR "Captains" of all time.
All mouth no trousers.

Just to clear this thread up, the buck stops with barton? Is that what you all mean? No one else to blame for 4 wins in 20 games, 1 at home out of 10 (against 9 men). Knocked out of the league cup by the mighty Rochdale at home, scraped a draw with the powerhouse of football that is MK mcdonalds. 19 goals in 20 league games. I could go on and on, but whats the point. Its all your fault Joey

when Hughes brings the best out of Barton ( which im sure he will) please remember who pulled the master stroke of bringing Joey to our club...........yep.......Neil Warnock.........
i see Joey and SWP as warnocks legacy ........so sorry the amazing warnock has gone cause i loved everything he did, tried to do for rangers......but now , lets see these guys perform for someone they hopefully want to perform for............and if we survive, then Warnock will have played a far far bigger part in survival than any of you can imagine............
in 2 years time..........Joey Barton.......QPR and England captain (ok doubtful )..........QPR a top 6 club ...Fortress Loftus Road.....new ground in the making........
I think Hughes (will) has inherited a far far more amazing prospect than Fulham or Blackburn

Pretty silly to blame one player for Warnock going! He's been sacked because of results & thats that!!!.........Barton is a pain in the backside but is also a gifted player & is playing with a fair bit of S##T around him!!! Its been said on here before & I'm going to mirror it!!! & I'm glad he's back for Wigan!!
