on fact to point out, this announcement was ment for tomorrow lunchtime but word got out this afternoon so the board hastly confirmed the departure this evening.
regarding this thread, the timing is probably to late. for myself, this dicison should have been made before the arsenal game. i hope to god that tf has a list of targets from the man he will install as manager this week so tf can get to work aquiring them before tuesdays announcement of our new manager.
more than ever, now is the time to back the players, club, and owner to the hilt.
we can survive!

Our defence aint crap , it might be crap without the right motivation and training but Luke Young, Ferdie and Traore could get in several Prem teams . Another Manager just might get more out of them now and play SWP in his right position ,. might get more out of Barton aswell.

Hitman - my thinking is that if someone like Hughes has been lined up then players like Onouha and Samba who already have a relationship with him are more/less likely to sign as a result. If, however we're going to appoint someone with little or no relationship with current Premiership footballer then who knows what will happen.
There aren't many who could a) attract the right players b) have a good understanding of the current squad c) are available and d) are prepared for a relegation scrap.

off topic, i took 4/1 on warnock this morning. thats a ton in the dusty.

Bad timing in my opinion but good luck for the rest of the season and a new manager. Shame the take over took so long and for the cash to be released. What NW did though, with his time there, was a great achievement that others were clearly unable to do. A shame. Good luck Colin and to you Hoops!

Was Warnock "hands off" in the coaching area, when at Palace, leaving most to his assistants?

He's the only man for me. He did brilliantly for Blackburn. He took City as far as he could at the time. Did well with Wales and was unlucky with Fulham (lots of injuries and OTT expectations after Hodgson success). With his United connections, his taking no prisoners attitude and his record he's the only candidate. Appoint anyone else and I'm worried.

Are fans seriously suggesting Holloway Yes he may be a Rangers legend but the very mention of him replacing Warnock is an insult to Neil Warnock. Holloways' only Premiership stint ended with (Relegation!) Seriously deluded section of fans Warnock will forever be a Rangers legend as is Holloway but is Warnock that got us to in this league, i truely don't believe Holloway would have got us promoted to the Premier League!

On SSN, some Rangers fan saying we should get Wilkins back. What an idiot.

Well if they always had it thier minds to sack NW then letting him go now would be the right timing, no point dragging it out and damaging our chances of staying up, but i think with some backing and the fixtures coming up then he may have turned it round, but were never know now.

jayh, warnock premier stints ended with relegation also. So what's your point? Are you advocating Holloway then? Ian Holloway's managerial record is nothing compared to Warnock, there's no comparison! Please don't tell me you made your comment in some form of defence to Holloway because there is no argument really. Holloway started our revival, he certainly wouldn't have been able to take Rangers any further then he did. Blackpool didn't win the league, they went up by a cup competition! Rangers finished second by the skin of our teeth in the old League 2 under Holloway. I will forever be greatfull to what Ian Holloway did for this club but this is a different time and Neil Warnock is a far superior manager to Ian Holloway and that is a fact! Holloway for manager is diluded! What next Gerry Francis ? Nostalgia really plays tricks on the mind! Holloway took over from Gerry Francis and we were relegated!

He's now said that one of our other targets is an ex England manager, either Sven or Glenn Its a tragedy that Glenn Hoddle is not working in English Football it really is, he's one of the few true "progressives" in English Football. Wouldnt be right for QPR right now, but saddens me to see him not working in English Football
