This season has only ever been about survival! I think most fans with common sense would say at the start of this season if we finished 4th from bottom this season that would be a success! We may never fall lower than our league position we currently find ourselves in. the downside of being in this league is we have gained or regained a section of more unrealistic supporters who probably found it quite easy to slip into a coma for the previous 15 years but have now returned to vent their frustration loud and clear on message boards. We are in this league because of Neil Warnock who worked a minor miracle to take over a struggling Championship team and not only keep us in the Championship but one year later transform us to win it. I don't post often but i do read the boards often, the fan base has changed and not for the better, this is a rocky time but stability is the key, I feel the players have as individuals let Warnock down, We've signed Joey Barton Who's trying so hard not to be that Joey Barton, we've ended up with a diluted version of the Barton we all know more vocal off the pitch than on it. Back our Manager for gods sake Fellow R's!

As I pointed out in another thread, and has been pointed out here by many examples - QPR have made a habit of replacing very good coaches with some truly awful ones. With the exception of Sexton replacing Jago - virtually all our decent coaches since the 60's have been replaced by poor ones.
Even worse those appointments usually took us back a few steps - examples Mullery breaking up one of the greatest teams ever assembled, Francis' lack of man management almost killed the dressing room, Wilkins getting us relegated, Waddock almost getting us relegated.
I remember how many fans rejoiced when Holloway got the sack (well okay ... gardening leave) and was replaced by Waddock. 25 or so competitive games later the cheering had been replaced by groans - and it took another 11 appointments of either coaches or caretakers, and plenty of derision, before we got it right again.
We have also seen examples of Charlton and what happened to Sheff Utd when Warnock left them (and look what happened to Notts County and Plymouth as other good examples).
Sacking a coach is the easiest thing in the world - many chairman do that all the time. It's replacing him with the correct person that is the tricky part and QPR is not unique in getting it wrong far, far more often than not - most clubs make that same mistake, some with near fatal consequences.

So completely agrees Saphilip....
At QPR...At so very many clubs... For every Martin O'Neil - who we all KNEW would be a good choice - or at QPR where Venables was a no brainer, we have Les Allen, Alan Mullery, Ray Haford, Gary Waddock, Mick Harford....
So yes, of course a new manager could "save" us...But more often than not, club fans who are so eager to axe a manager, look back and say "Wish he was still with us. Look at now...."

That is all true, saphilip. But I, at least one reporter, Dave Kidd, (who clearly does have contacts within the dressing room) and many other fans believe that he has lost the dressing room. If that is the case then keeping hold of him does you no good at all now, does it? Once that happens, if that's happened, there's no way back until you get rid of the guy that the players don't want to play for anymore. If I and loads of other QPR fans can see the guy is technically inept at his level then don't you think a guy like Joey Barton can see it too? And if, as is now being reported in the national press this morning, senior players have already been making noises to TF about their greivances with Warnock then what conclusion do you think he's going to come to?

Wonder what Bhatia thinks re keeping/axing Warnock...He's a minority partner. But of course does have Mittal money...
He's got board experience/experience with seeing managers hired/fired...So knows pros and cons and process....
Are Bhatia and Fernandes of a one on this matter? Would Fernandes take this step (If he does) if Bhatia strongly opposes?

Nomar....you hit the nail on the head. Mark Hughes represents what the Rrrrs need. Strong leadership, ability to build and execute a plan and give us something attractive to watch. God help these loafers on the team who chose not to give blood in the cause. Send a bunch of them back to Div 2..... Hill, Connolly, Hall, Orr, Cerny, Smith....Taraabt to Saad Al or whatever, Boothroyd off to Glasgow ...these green b****ds deserve him. And Barton get your shit together, ditch the tweety bird and and start playing like a EPL player.

It's also interesting- not so much on this board, but elsewhere, how the very attributes that Warnock probably was displaying a few months - and last season - are now being criticized - even disparaged. With Warnock - as with every manager and his assistants - you get a package of pluses and minuses. Things that at one point are lauded, are at another time, when things not so well, are disparaged.
Not a defense (in this post) of Warnock so much as just noting the fickleness of fans.

Would Fernandes take this step (If he does) if Bhatia strongly opposes? Bhatia wants what's best for the club. He's also not in the habit of losing money. If QPR go down they stand to lose something like £80m. Faced with that alternative what do you think he will do? The truth is these guys may well do it with a heavy heart, but they feel no sentimentality at relieving Warnock of his duties if they consider the alternative is that they are going to lose a small fortune sticking by him.

Not a defense (in this post) of Warnock so much as just noting the fickleness of fans. Warnock has poor man management skills at this level. He's used to dealing with Championship players not top class Premier League ones. There's a big difference between the egos of Prem players and the egos of Championship players, many of whom are just happy to be getting a game every week. His tactical awareness is lacking at this level. Last season it was pretty much 'give it to Adel' and hope Taarabt beat teams for him, which most weeks of the season he did. This season he is being found out because he cannot just 'give it to Adel' and watch Taarbs put the team on his back and carry us over the line. Its not fans being fickle. Its fans realizing that what worked in the Championship doesn't work in the Premier League. You should be applauding them for realizing this and expressing their desire to have this situation changed whilst it's still not too late to save the season.

Look at yesterdays Independent, their chief sports news reporter had an article saying that Rooney was to be sold and that turned out to be crap.

In all your years of watching football, does what you've seen over the last 6 or 7 games tell you that this is the product of a team that has a dressing room that is united and full of players that are prepared to run through walls for the manager?

You could say the same about how Man Utd have played recently. We've had a bad month and a bad run and their has been a lot of bad reaction to this. Whenever a team has a bad run the players don't look confident, happens to every team. Look at Chelsea after we beat them.

Whilst the first part of your post is childish nonsense, I do agree with hitman34, that accusing him of supporting the blue scum is out of order and hardly reasoned debate. It will not make hitman34 change his mind and nor should he in order for him to post on here, so please knock it on the head and I can go back to ignoring him.

Oh I saw the one or two Chelsea references...But Hitman is implicitly impugning this site - as though we have a problem with views that may not be the view of a certain moderator. And that is not the case. That doesn't moderators can't express their own views as much as any other poster of course. I'd note that one of the first callers for Warnock Out, was moderator London.

Any way... I just hope that thigs change, I dont think I would look at NW the way I currently do if he would just take a few more risk and stop with all the dodge formations. 4-4-2 when thigs go wrong is what we need to go back to. BASICS!!

Im not sure if I am seeing a team that is no longer playing for the coach - it looks more like a team with no confidence with many palyers being found to be out of their depth.
