Adriano has a few injury problems. That said he is still useful, even if he made me have a "wish i hadnt said that moment". Came on as sub to a greeting of "what the f will HE do" only to produce a last minute cracker www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkykyp8O7MIHave to agree with CPR on the subject of loans. Its a bit of a gamble.

Smith breaks silence Alan Smith is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of opportunities at Newcastle and would be interested in moving to a club like Queens Park Rangers if he is not given a chance to play. Having been linked with a return to Leeds last summer, the midfielder is out contract at the end of the current campaign and has made only two substitute appearances so far which have totalled just more than five minutes on the field. Smith joined Newcastle in 2007 in a £6million transfer from Manchester United which was designed to get his career back on track after the sickening broken leg he suffered in 2006. The now 31-year-old played regularly under former boss Chris Hughton, but seemingly does not feature in the new, youthful plans of Alan Pardew and has only been offered coded messages about his future. "Whenever I've knocked on the boss' door to ask why I'm not playing he says, 'I think you understand football enough to know why'." Alan Smith Quotes of the week
Breaking a five-month silence, Smith said in The Sun: "Whenever I've knocked on the boss' door to ask why I'm not playing he says, 'I think you understand football enough to know why'. "People can draw their own conclusions on what he means by that. I'm not injured and I'm fitter and hungrier to play than ever. Respect
"I've never been told directly Newcastle want rid of me. I could have gone out on loan, but the manager didn't want me to. "If he said he wanted me to go I'd respect that, but he hasn't. It's weird. "He says he wants me around and even offered me a coaching role if I pack in playing, but I'm too young for that. "I have total respect for Alan Pardew and I know he has the same for me. But I just want to play." Smith's days at Newcastle do appear to be over, if not in January then at the end of the season, and a move to a club such as Neil Warnock's QPR would appeal. The former England international said in the Chronicle: "If I'm not staying at Newcastle, I want to find a club where I can make a difference, like a QPR where I could give them a bit of a push forward. "I can still do a good job in the Premier League or the Championship. I just need that chance."

Didnt Blackburn had to pull their Andy Johnson offer due to financial constraints? If thats so then they may accept a lower bid - although not a silly one.

I think our bigger issue would be they'd rather he went to a bigger club than blackburns main rivals in terms of staying in the league! but who knows stranger things may have happened at some point, some where...

Could we not make a bid for Yakubu while we are at it? Certainly mentioned him possibly being on his way out. Im undecided on yak, he has great games but then has games where he is a total waste of oxygen all too often too! i guess if macheda fills in those gaps we should be looking good! what id give to get 1 or 2 signings in today, if they could play tomorrow, what a happy weekend that would be (hopefully lol)....theres me saying i was going to try and be patient now too but im so looking forward to some players coming in!

Wayne Bridge is just cover for our talented Traore. So if a loan deal was agreed with the aforementioned then it would not impact heavily should Wayne adopt that "who cares" attitude. That is unless Armand were to unfortunately get himself injured whilst in Africa. But Traore will be absent for 5 matches - 5 matches which could define our season. I'd rather have someone who is both match fit and interested in QPR survival rather than someone who would feature because of his past reputation. Bridge is no different to SWP and would disappoint.

Bridge could be interested in playing for QPR. Got to be better than Man City reserves

Bridge could be interested in playing for QPR. Got to be better than Man City reserves Wasn't interested when playing for WHU last season and didn't look interested when he actually played for Citeh hence being dropped from the squad altogether. The fact that Mancini has brought in the likes of Kolarov and Clichy as well as having Boateng last season suggests that he never thought Bridge was good enough. Compare the level that Bridge was playing at and the level that Barry plays at and most people would say that the two weren't dissimilar in quality. The difference is that one is still at City regular and the other doesn't get a look in. Why? If Bridge is interested in playing he would drop his wage demands and sign for a club like Arsenal who supposedly want a full back on loan.

i think the bid for samba is to force spurs into an improved offer so they sign him and it frees up bassong.
tactical bidding from the R's

I would think Samba would wait to see if they did come in for him before looking to us.
If Yakubu has the relegation release clause couldnt we bid around 3m and recoup some by selling on Bothroyd to Celtic (if that rumour is for real) Surely Venkys would prefer 3m now to 1.5m in May.

Adriano has the most "wins" of the Bidone d'Oro award, given to the worst player of the year in the Italian Serie A.
Yep, sounds about right for us.

4 appearances and 1 goal last year - albeit an important goal. Now he is injured yet again and wont be fit (?) until March. Sigh.
Sounds more like a Ray Wilkins signing!
