Bushman has got the only positive, one point , and Swansea , Wigan , Fulham losing made it a tad better , but then Bolton and Norwich win .
No skirting round the edges , needed to win that game today , if you look at Wigan , Bolton , Newcastle and Villa , before the season started , at home would 3 points against those be good enough , doubtful but then we have 6 away points so balances out . After Chelsea , Man C , Spurs , Stoke, Norwich , may not have 1 point a game ratio , need minimum of 5 points from these 5 games. 14 points after 13 games would be ok. Had some bad luck with injuries true , but i want to see Tarbs start every game unless he wasnt fit of course.

Only thing i can think off is mackie getting a run out and putting in a shift shame barton once again failed to live up to the hype though. so i'd have to agree more negatives than positives again today. But i guess a point when the opponents keeper had nothing to do could be looked at as a bonus but you'd really be pushing it

Fitz hall wont be in it once Gabbys back , i think the system needs a tweak or too. If we havnt got 20 points come first Jan we are in serious trouble . but we have the get out clause of games 20 - 30 these ones can still make or break our season but will the 2/3 new additions be able to turn it on straight away?

Will try to find a few moments tomorrow to tell you about my day and my views of the game. Just got home (9.45pm) and I am knackered! Nice to get back to good old LR again though - and I got to shake hands with Tony Fernandes too! Quite an eventful day - will tell more tomorrow.

i couldnt see gramps, i did look. sorry i missed him.
rovers were playing the long ball game and it worked, hall lost every aerial battle with samba, our backs resigned themselves in trying to play the same as blackburn, the midfield was a utter shambles

We learnt today that we also need another midfield player as well as a defender and striker come January.Derry cant hack it at this level.

Agree, poor old Derry, his legs are gone. Once his opponent gets past him, it is a case of the tortoise and the hare. I shudder to think, how he is going to cope against the calibre, of players in the coming three games.

I wouldn't hit the panic button yet, and crap as our end of season run-in is, there are no cut and dry must-win games in October. I do find it concerning how much respect we are given at home by other teams, or in other words, the lack of ambition other teams around us show. From 1-1 onwards, it was not infrequent to see 10 Blackburn players behind the ball. I suppose it is somewhat positive that they barely got a sniff of goal in the second half (and when they did, Paddy pulled off a decent stop). That's another positive, like others have said. It's a sign of a good keeper who can sit and do nothing for 40 minutes then pull a reaction stop out of the bag when he's needed.
Weird atmosphere today though, very edgy and expectant.

All round very poor today, cant single out any one player, all of them were well below par. today, we needed a performance to show solidarity and inity after last weeks drubbing, i did not see that. The midfield in particular was very poor, not just Derry, in fact Joey was very poor indeed.
I don;t understand why Buz wasn't introduced, i also don't understand why with 10 minutes remaining why Bothroyd wasn't brought on to play alongside HH to push for the three points. The upcoming games are hard, and we will need some points from those.
Something isn't right within the squad/

Well I think we recovered well from that 6-0 drubbing and if you are not going to beat a likely fellow relegation candidate then at the very leasts make sure you don't lose - so at least on that score we achieved that.
My main concern is our inability to win at home and with no disrespect to the teams who have visisted LR I would have thought we would have achieved that win by now.
The lack of height was also a concern and we needd to start scoring goals.
I don't think it was as bad a game as has been made out - although it was nowhere near a classic. Neither side had a player who stood out - possibly Mackie & SWP for QPR and Samba for Blackburn - and I ot the feeling that neither team wanted to lose this game as opposed to winning it (esp. in the 2nd half).
My honest view of the game though? I think we have just seen a battle between 2 teams who are likley to be battling for survival come April / May.

Traore didn't get sent off is a positive. Not for anything today but I hope he doesn't become a player that we got to worry about getting carded everytime he makes a challenge. Can't think of other positives that haven't been mentioned. Main thing is we didn't lose, expectations were higher, though.

Whilst Derry had a bad game, Faurlin kept his composure and turned in a decent performance, showing that he can pick up the slack and make that position his own. Off the back of that, I'd like to see Barton play in Derry's position with another striker up top and Shaun on the bench. Barton's strength is his ability to pick out the striker or winger with a long pass and at the moment is playing too far up the pitch, where he is not really effective as he can be.
Traore, defensively was much better than previous. His positional play has improved greatly and he showed great discipline in not bombing forward knowing we have a weakened defence and therefore lack of cover. He was a massive positive, defensively and showed a maturity I wasn't to sure he had, up until yesterday.
At the end of the day, we have come a long way in a short space of time and taking into account the way we were only able to buy players in the last two weeks of the window, it will take time to find our pattern of play that works best, unfortunately with the next two fixtures, we need to find it by Wednesday so we can work on it for 3 days!
The fact that we played Blackburn in the Premiership and not some team in the Championship yesterday is still a massive positive and achievement for Warnock and the rest of the backroom. Finding our feet in the Premiership and surviving this season whilst we build a solid foundation to keep us up and hopefully challenging for a top ten spot regularly within a few more years is the plan and whilst we are going thru a transitional period with all the new signings now that the euphoria has worn off is still the challenge.
On that score we're moving along nicely and rather than pick at the negatives, for me, now is the time to support the manager and the team with patience and loyalty, without trying to undermine the manager from afar.

OK, I'll tell you my view of this rubbish game and then in a separate thread about the day as it was for me, going back to LR after a lot of years.
First, and this is burning me up with anger and frustration! Never in a million years should SWP have been booked. I can say with absolute confidence that I had the best view in the stadium of that incident. I was in the front row of the Ellerslie Road stand and the incident happened only six feet in front of me. Put simply, SWP and the defender both went to kick the ballon opposite sides. Their feet connected with it strongly at the identical moment. There was absolutely no body contact whatsoever, the defender was probably the more off-balance of the two and went down. What is more important is that the linesman was nowhere near the incident and the referee could not possibly have seen exactly what happened from where he was standing - it was totally inaccurate guesswork on his part.
The game? Frustrating - and on this sort of form I can see Rangers conceding 15 goals in the next three or four games. The midfield was all over the place. Positives? Young and Traore are the goods but they can't do it all. Joey had an innocuous match; I love Shaun Derry as a committed player but have to agree that his legs have gone although at no time did he give up trying. Anton was passable I guess but have seen him play better. Ali Faurlin did his darndest and kept working, showing his usual nice touches but even he seemed at times to be affected by the lack-lustre of others. "One size" was very ordinary and should never have been beaten in the corner that led to the Blackburn goal - not a prem quality player. SWP was ordinary. HH was....................well, he was HH! Not, I am afraid, a Premier League striker in my opinion. OK, he got a goal but I felt it was more speculative than intentional. Jamie Mackie did his best and showed nice touches but he is simply not match fit. Paddy didn't have a great deal to do (neither goalkeeper did, in fact). As for the subs, to be fair to Tommy Smith he got stuck in as soon as he came on but didn't get a chance to show much in ten minutes. AT just looked as though he couldn't care less, had a badly miscued shot and another attempt at goal where he really should have passed to a better placed player. Some of you guys can shout at me and jump to his protection as much as you like but I believe we will be better off without him - a waste of space. An interesting point is that when he came on as substitute there was very little response from the crowd. SWP and Jamie went off to cheers and Tommy was cheered when he came on. Tell you something? No doubt in my mind that unless something very positive happens in the next transfer window and a few others get their act together, we are going to be playing championship football again next season.
I had hoped for a better game and more positive result from my first visit in years but for all that enjoyed my day out.
Now for another thread about the more personal aspects of my day out.

I really think we need to look at this playing of only 1 real striker. Two might be the better option. one is just having to do too much and with 4 defenders, they are up against it. Well done Helguson for his mishit goal.

Keep Taarabt, Barton, Traore, Ferdinand, Young & Faurlin! The rest are either past it, or were knee-jerk acquisitions!

Thanks Gramps , Derry did have another bad game for sure. My biggest worry yesterday was Boothroyd should have come on and if Tarbs was fit should have played the whole game.
For me there's 15/18 points we need to get from home games against Wigan ,Wolves, Blackburn , Swansea, Norwich , Fulham Bolton , WBA ,Sunderland. We so far have picked up 1 point from two of them .

Positives - Mackie getting 63 minutes and had a good game, caused the Blackburn defence some problems. Ali Faurlin for trying his hardest to keep the midfield together. One point closer to safety.
Negatives - Hall, useless. Derry, seemed subdued. Barton, did nothing. SWP, same as Barton. Young, had a bad game. More poinys dropped at home.

T-shirt order, bathed in sunshine, was a positive. The last 2 games is relegation form, but maybe with the pressure off in games they're expected to lose, we might get a performance. A win on Sunday will be a bit of a positive eh!
