I see on the boards people denigrating Fulham...Saying QPR are the bigger club. I'm not at all sure about that. Anyway I've always have a semi-warm feeling about Fulham/Johnny Hayen & George Cohen. (After all any team that gives away Rodney Marsh AND Malcolm MacDonald within a handful of years, cant be all bad!)

West London Sport QPR back to prepare for Fulham clash 19/02/2012 by West London Sport The QPR squad have arrived back in England following a five-day visit to Portugal. Manager Mark Hughes was keen to take his players for a break in the sun ahead of the all-important run-in to the season. Rangers, who are two places above the relegation zone, face Hughes’ former club Fulham in a west London derby at Loftus Road on Saturday. Recent signing Samba Diakite, who met his new team-mates during the trip, is expected to make his R’s debut www.westlondonsport.com/west-london-sport/qpr-back-to-prepare-for-fulham-clash/

London War League , very impressive Mr B. Fulham defender fans the flames ahead of trip to QPR Monday, February 20, 2012 4:55 PM Stephen Kelly is targeting victory at Loftus Road Fulham defender Stephen Kelly is targeting a rare away win for the Whites when they take on QPR on Saturday at Loftus Road. Fulham have only won once on the road all season but did beat QPR 6-0 at Craven Cottage in October and Kelly is hoping for a repeat performance. “If it was like the last one (the 6-0 win) it will be amazing but I can’t imagine two of them happening in a season,” Kelly told Fulham’s official website.“I think they’ve changed things since so I don’t know if they will be as vulnerable as they were then. “Going to Loftus Road is a tough place to play. It’s a small, compact ground and QPR have invested a lot in the last transfer window and obviously Bobby (Zamora) has gone there. “They’re not going to make it easy for us but with the quality we have here I think we’re more than capable of going there to get a result.” Fulham sit in 12th, four places and seven points above 16th placed QPR. www.london24.com/sport/championship/qpr_2_5433/fulham_defender_fans_the_flames_ahead_of_trip_to_qpr_1_1214791

Along the lines of.... QPR Manager Mark Hughes Admittted he made a collossal mistake leaving Fulham last summer.... or Adel Taarabt promised to stay and watch the whole game, if he got substituted in the game against Fulham or QPR CHairman announced he was "sick and tired" of trying to be optimistic at this bunch of non-trying schmucks... or QPR Pressman Ian Taylor announced "I'm sick of being abused by some b...Let's see you try and do some of this spin that I've had to do for the past few years" or ...

Don't we know it and it has been very, very frustrating to say the least . I really hope MH has got them sorted at the back , also hope this "Diakite" is the answer to our defensive frailties .

Ham and High Hugo Rodallega in action against Newcastle. Photo: Jonathan Brady/PA Fulham star aiming to inflict more misery on QPR Tuesday, December 11, 2012 11:25 AM Hugo Rodallega is looking forward to Fulham’s trip to QPR on Saturday after scoring the winning goal in their 2-1 win over Newcastle last night. The former Wigan man headed home from Damien Duff’s free kick to give the Cottagers a much needed win and he is now aiming for another three points at Loftus Road. It promises to be a fiercely contested encounter, with struggling QPR desperate for a good result themselves having gone a record-breaking 16 games without a win this season. “It was good to get back to winning ways, but now we need to build on that,” Rodallega told Fulham’s official website. “We want three points against QPR this Saturday. It’s a big game, and as a derby it is one everyone wants to win. “We know that this is a game that means a lot to the fans, so hopefully we can make them happy with another victory. “QPR have had a difficult season so far, but we will take nothing for granted. “They will be hungry for the points, but we have to make sure that we want them even more. It will be a tough game, but we will be ready to take them on.” www.hamhigh.co.uk/sport/football/fulham_star_aiming_to_inflict_more_misery_on_qpr_1_1738006

It was nice to see the old FA Chief Ted Coker in that ITN report. His grandson Eric Dier plays for Portuguese club Sporting Clube de Portugal.

That's interesting - nice to put a name to one of them as the report doesn't have any captions. The successful anti-merger campaign was before my time (I would have been a one year old!) but always heard about it on the boards and through older fans I'm friends with. I think it's a really important part of our heritage and makes me feel proud of our fanbase.

I remember QPR playing Fulham the year before that - in our post-Marsh surge to (almost) promotion...and they held us to a 0-0 draw at Loftus Road...and they had brilliant forwards: Steve Earle, Les Barret and Jimmy Conway (and then a lot of drek!)
