Thanks Finney. It makes absolutely no sense. He has repeatedly denigrated the club. Said no interest. No ambition.

Ecclestone's recent comments re QPR (and Hitler/Dictatorships ) - and can find quite a few similar quotes "...Does he have any enthusiasm for QPR? "Not at all. Of course I can pull out – but there are lots of things that could and should be done there. It's mainly commercial things and for me to see if we can get that working better. Once you get me involved that's it. I'm there." And QPR are top of the Championship. "Yeah, it's good. Super, super, super. We can only go down from here." qprreport.blogspot.com/2010/10/qpr-report-tuesday-bernie-ecclestone.html

Anyone else recall Berbie's vision of a London Grand Prix? Parts of existing road structure to be included and the plans had a football stadium in it. Pie in the sky? Who knows....
Bernie is attending games and has become more involved lately.

It's a land grab. IMO. Explains the Mallya retractions.....Interesting/stormy weather ahead I was feeling positive about this until I read Nodge's post! With the recent ground ownership issues this was a resolution I had envisaged that actually benefits us in that for a consolidated price Bernie gets the ground and the holding company and the holding company retains the ground and the club. Good news. Also Bernie has the financial and social political strength to move us to a location close to where we are now, Unigate being the one that makes sense infrastructure wise. He runs a very tight ship and doesn't suffer fools at all so some of the dead wood would go from the backroom. My only fear is the club moving away from the fanbase more as the high ticket prices, which will continue to rise under Bernie will further alienate our natural and traditional fan base in pursuit of profit at any cost. The man is ruthless in my estimation. Hopefully this is true and will end the loan situation for good so we can really move forward and enter the premiership on a firm and sound financial footing.

I'm going to say something contentious here. I quite like Bernie. ;D

I've always felt myself warming to old Bernie as well.
And for someone who hates Football so much, he always seems to be there when I've been there.
The more serious stuff that people are talking about I havent done my homework on, but on pure instinct, I like Bernie, especially compared to Briatore & Paladini whom I dont like ( or trust ) at all.
The other stuff that people are alluding to sounds worrying to say the least, but I am in the dark, I havent heard anything or done my homework on it.

With the best will in the world, Bernie is 80 odd years old. What are the long term plans here? Or short term gain?

Agree with Nodge: Even if you think Bernie's the Man (see how slip from Ecclestone to Bernie!) He is 80: What happens "after"
And if Ecclestone in, does that mean bye to Miittals - and all that might mean

Wonder if they were telling the exact truth when Briatore was replaced and the Mittal increase in share ownership was touted on the Official Site. Or at least were they trying to leave a certain impression...
I also wonder if any of the local media guys knew about this and if so, why didn't write about it. Or was it complete secret?

Is that what Dave Mac was alluding to then, in his cryptic "mythical Mittals" tweet?

Given that Finney went out on a line...And given that Pete confirms it (from a different perspective)...I think credence should be paid. But certainly we'll find out for sure.

But beyond messageboard personalities, is the real issue over ownership of QPR and Mittals and what the club has tried to leave us with impression of. And future of QPR etc. Some, for whatever reason, don't think it's a big deal. Some thing it's a good step. OThers don't But I WOULD say that I don't expect QPR Report/Macmoish would receive the QPR (Real) Board's "Favourite Poster" Award....I'll leave that award to someone else Recall the Edict: "Speak Truth to Power"
