I'm sure many have played with a broken nose. I'm sure it's mot pleasant, but if need me I expwect he will play. After all, Masterson managed 60 minutes with it broken yesterday. I assume Barbet's foot injury was from when he rescued Ball.
Timer will tell, but I don't think there is anychance that Ball & Cameron will both be starting at centre half.

I agree, Dickie would be rushed back if that was the case.

A number of players with broken noses have played with special protective masks in the past. Not sure if they're still allowed

Curious to see who is on the bench if Dickie, Cameron and Ball are on the field (one in a holding MF position).
Any candidates in the U 23s?

Have a bad feeling about tonights's game, especially with all the injuries mounting up... Good to see Thomas getting an hour's play in Tuesday's U21's game. Looking at that game's team sheet, we seem to have re-signed Remy - he got a full 90 minutes

Really encouraging if Thomas is match fit, even for 60 or as sub.
Midfielders must be somewhat knackered with these frequent games.

Really like the idea of 3-5-2 if Masterson and Barbet are a no go.
We are shelled at Brentford last few seasons, nothing to lose.

Yeah, on paper and form, that's pretty close to my preferred starting 11. Famous last words etc. as it's Brentford and on telly.
But yeah, I like that line up.

So Cameron has gone from starting at central defender to not anywhere any idea why? Late fitness tests, training injuries, Warbs trying to through Brentford off? Not sure.

Especially happy to see Ball in and together with Carroll in mid.

Yirrrrs 1-1. BOS teasing ball across the box, Dykes slams into the roof of the net.

Sorenson somehow allowed to push Dykes in the back as the last man and doesn't get a red card. Stunning.

The best I can remember us playing for quite a while.
Can we keep it going?

Was a great first half and how the brentord defender was not classed as last man a complete mystery.

Really stupid challenge and red card when we were still well in the game

Usual sloppy Red ends any chance of us picking up a point, when will we learn. Have we ever had a team that gets so many reds and sending offs. Very frustrating and no need for that challenge.

Strong first half, don't think we adapted quick enough in the second, lost the middle when Brentford changed shape I think. Didn't put a foot in the ball and slow things down when Brentford had their better spell.
Kane challenge was clumsy on a yellow, shouldn't have happened. Though of course, Brentford should have been down to 10 men from the first half. Pivotal moments too. Brentford score a wordlie against the run of play and its 1-1 at half time. Another day and another ref, it's 0-1 and they're down to 10 men. Disappointed but didn't embarrass ourselves.

As an aside, it's another game where I feel the extremes of our players in the middle of the park is a bit unbalanced. Either nimble but soft like Carroll or slow but hard like Cameron or Ball. Another game where you feel we miss a meaner all-rounder who can put a foot on the ball and settle stuff down and carry it so we can adapt, like a Woods or Pearson ya know?

Think we are really struggling at left back. The defending for the second goal was awful. Neither of our two left backs look good enough at present so we are always at risk of conceding there. Actually both are worse than Manning defensively but at least he offered an attacking threat.

The culture of the club and the building blocks are light years ahead of a couple of years ago.
Of the starters and subs at least 10-12 are new to us and some (Dieng, Dickie, Niko, BOS, Dykes, Willock to name a few) are really pleasant surprises.
More in the pipeline hopefully, but importantly the imprint for a style of play is firmly in place.

Friday night games, live on Sky, playing Brentford, in their shiny new stadium - sometimes the odds are just too great. But for me, setting aside the ref missing the Brentford red card, we did not do ourselves any favours, especially in the second half. Brentford kept their yellowed centre half Sorensen) on for the second half but made sure that Dykes did not get near him by sending on their captain (Jansson) to occupy and foul him. Then, by putting 5 across the middle they forced Bright back and he was pretty ineffective in the second half after frightening them in the first. Once Willock went off, Hamalainen looked much weaker and then at set piece we had Nico on the wrong side of their in form striker - sending the Sky commentators off on another Toney love in. I like Warburton but we do seem to be unable to counter when opponents start to nullify our earlier supremacy. I guess we are still learning and that we are still a tad naïve at times.

I thought that last night showed we are not too far off of Brentford as a team & if their player had been sent off we MAY have won.
What was good was to see a Championship match on Sky that was full of football being played & entertaining.
I'm not sure how I would mark the referee. The non sending off was a huge mistake, but otherwise I thought he was good.
