Possibly Dicko now going to Hull for 3.5 Million, maybe gazumped. Here is an interesting read how much Harry paid for a loan deal for a Saints Striker with one goal. Over 40 k a week and 200 k agents fees lol. if i am being honest i wouldnt mind if he went to Hull ,rather have the Swede ,i cant see how someones value increases so much and hardly plays ,not exactly prolific goal scorer

Obviously, I've never seen him play & this may turn out to be a nothing transfer.
However, I'm happy about this. Just a gut feeling, but we have nothing to lose & all to gain from this move.
Welcome Paul. Look forward to seeing you play.

As part of the deal with the London club, 19 year old striker Brandon Adams will join Linfield on a season long loan deal. Paul Smyth made his Linfield debut as a late substitute in a 1-0 home win against Newington in the County Antrim Shield on 22nd September 2015. The exciting youngster scored his first Linfield goal in a 2–1 Boxing Day win at the Oval in 2015 and made a total of 76 appearances for the club scoring 17 goals. Paul is currently with the under 21 squad ahead of their games at home to Albania and away to Slovakia. He was an integral part of last season’s fantastic treble winning side and leaves Windsor Park with our very best wishes.

The wide man is believed to have been the subject of an approach from the Hoops in the last 24 hours. Wheeler, who can also play up front, has been with the Grecians for the last four seasons, playing more than 150 games in all competitions, scoring 39 goals. Last season, he scored 21 times, including a goal against Blackpool in the League Two play-off final. Wheeler started out at Brighton and Hove Albion's academy, before going into non-league with East Sussex side Lewes, impressing at The Dripping Pan Stadium, before moving to Staines Town. Having impressed further, notching 23 goals, he earned a move to the Football League to Paul Tisdale's side. He has been one of the standout performers for Exeter in League One and Two in recent years, and could now get a chance to shine in the Championship. QPR have missed out on Wolves striker Nouha Dicko, with the hitman set to join Hull City.

I wouldn't muck about with the striker market in this window. Prices are stupid. But, more importantly, there's nothing of value there thats better than what we already have, imo. Let Conor develop this season instead.

Putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, but...
On the assumption that we could afford him (which we probably couldn't...), think I'd quite like to see Gayle in the team...

I'm sure it can be managed, but with our luck and current injury situation it's a worry. Also, Yeni seems set to stay and I worry that we are again missing the mark in terms of the position. He's a winger and we need front men, goal scorers.

Fantastic player and Les Ferdinand rates him but this window, no cant see that with his price tag. Have you noticed although we allegedly are bidding 2 or 3 million on strikers, I get the impression its just media talk. We havnt paid more than about 300k for anyone yet.

I would be amazed if we dont see a defender and an out and out striker in by tomorrow, thats after Wheeler. My guess is probably loans though due to the amounts we seem to be spending.
Goss looks like going out on loan but there is sure to be a couple more, wonder if we will be surprised by others?

Could we have afforded one Gayle instead of LuaLua + Smyth + Goss + Wheeler. Probably but I'm sure he would blow the wage structure. Pity as he has the goal scoring record of the player we need up front. IMO our priority in the last 2 days of the window should be: 1 a defender, 2 a striker. I think it more likely though that we will see a couple of departures to trim the squad rather than new signings. Seems our backroom team have spent days trying to get the Wheeler and Smyth deals over the line which makes me wonder if those deals were a priority are we working on any other incoming deals at all. Lualua is a loan, the others cost buttons. Gayle is a proven Championship striker and they cost £10m+ so no, we couldn't have afforded him.

More than 10 Million + ?
Fulham just offered 15 Million for him, the days of 10 Million strikers in the Championship seems to have gone. Lots of Championship Clubs prepared to spend 10 - 20 or even nearly 30 Million this Summer to reach the Prem.
Certainly would give Fulham good chance of play offs again.

Foolham have just sold their striker Aluko for £7.5m to Reading - probably did so with an upgrade in mind. There's certainly a LOT of cash sloshing around the Championship this year - unbelievable and (surely?) unsustainable... It really sickens me that a phenomenally rich and corrupt state such as Qatar can affect club football at all levels - and around the world - by spending £200,000,000 on one player, just because it can? According to Sky, Neymar's 5 year contract at PSG has a basic salary of around £520,000-a-week - AFTER tax!!!. So, with bonuses, and pre-tax, it must cost PSG at least £1m a week? So total cost to PSG over 5 years is another £260,000,000 - over half a BILLION including the transfer fee! The trickle-down effect automatically ramps up every player's value on the planet. Who'd have thought last season that Leicester would be chasing Andros Townsend for nearly £30million!!! And how can a state even be allowed to own a club!? FFP is a f******g joke. Even Sky is now being outbid for TV sports contracts by Amazon - and more and more money is being poured into the game, only to be sucked out by every increasing transfer fees, wages - and agents fees (didn't Neymar's agent earn £23m recently from Barcelona for Neymar's 'loyalty' bonus?). It all makes me want to puke!!!! [rant over]

Probably pre deadline paper talk again - although at £750k he is closer to our price range. If it happened it could be a very good signing but it could also be a complete disaster.
No sign of us being linked with Peter Crouch again......yet
The other name that came to mind was Wells from Huddersfield but I see Burnley are close to a deal for him so he must be in the £20 million price range. Strange that no club, including Huddersfield, have thought Wells is good enough for the PL but Burnley seem willing to take the chance.
Isn't Wells injured at the moment and out for a spell?

Also saying could see couple more incomings depending if other deals move in the chain. Presume this doesnt include the Exeter player
