Apparently were buying Harry Kane from spurs I am good with this, was impressed with him at Spurs last year. Also, why not go for some young Championship players? It's not like we don't know them after this season. I would love to get Will Hughes from Derby, despite the fact that I hate his father.

It's not like we don't know them after this season. I would love to get Will Hughes from Derby, despite the fact that I hate his father. Looked him up as the name 'Hughes' rang a bell re QPR ( I suppose that would be tolling a bell though ). He went to Repton school at over £10,000 per term. Used to be the capital of England at one time did Repton. Their training facilities are a whole lot better than QPR's. Who is his father then as I cant find him - or is that off record?

EXCLUSIVE: QPR eye Spurs duo Townsend and Dawson HARRY REDKNAPP is planning to bring Tottenham duo Andros Townsend and Michael Dawson to QPR next season. By: Tony BanksPublished: Thu, May 29, 2014 QPR, Tottenham, Harry Redknapp, Andros Townsend, Michael Dawson, Mauricio PochettinoEngland winger Andros Townsend suffered a stop-start season at Spurs[GETTY] Tottenham are set to have a clear out of players when new manager Mauricio Pochettino assumes control of their squad after being appointed on Tuesday. Redknapp wants to try to take Townsend on a season long loan if he can, with the England winger rated at about £8million by Spurs. But both Everton and Newcastle are also this summer interested in buying the 22 year old, who had a successful loan spell at QPR in 2013. Dawson is a player QPR have been chasing for more than a year and a £9m move for the centre-back collapsed in August 2012 after the clubs had agreed terms, when the player rejected the move. The QPR manager also fancies trying to capture Rio Ferdinand, released this summer by Manchester United, back down to London. Newcastle centre-back Steven Taylor is another on his radar. www.express.co.uk/sport/football/478819/EXCLUSIVE-QPR-eye-Spurs-duo-Townsend-and-Dawson

Rio Ferdinand ponders QPR move as Harry Redknapp turns on the charm to tempt former England man May 27, 2014 22:30 By John Cross The defender has a free agent after being released by Manchester United and Redknapp wants to bring his old pal to London Rio Ferdinand is weighing up the biggest decision of his career after being tempted by an offer from QPR. Harry Redknapp is hoping his close relationship with the former Manchester United defender will lure him to Loftus Road. QPR are also likely to go for Newcastle defender Steven Taylor and West Brom’s Jonas Olsson to bolster their back four. But it is Ferdinand who Redknapp really wants after the ex-England defender’s contract at Old Trafford expired. Redknapp would love Frank Lampard too, but Chelsea are hopeful he will re-sign for one more year at Stamford Bridge. It could be a bigger decision for Ferdinand as Redknapp will use all of his charm to try and tempt him. Ferdinand still played in United’s biggest games last season and it would be a clever signing for QPR on and off the pitch. There are likely to be big offers from the Premier League, Europe and also the MLS but moving to London could be a factor for Rio. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/rio-ferdinand-ponders-qpr-move-3615050#ixzz334N1dOFp Follow us: @dailymirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook

Pros and cons to this! West London Sport/Dave McIntyre
QPRRedknapp: I only want players I know29/05/2014 By David McIntyre Harry Redknapp will tell Tony Fernandes he is unwilling to change his transfer policy following QPR’s promotion to the Premier League. The pair are due to meet today and chairman Fernandes told West London Sport this week he would like a younger squad of players to be assembled but that it would be “Harry’s call” whether a new approach to signings is adopted. And manager Redknapp appears determined to continue largely putting his faith in players he knows, and in many cases has worked with previously. This season his signings included Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Niko Kranjcar and Tom Carroll, who played under him at Tottenham – in Kranjcar’s case at Portsmouth too – as well as experienced performers like Richard Dunne, Danny Simpson and Yossi Benayoun. Tony Fernandes, QPR chairman Fernandes is keen to make signings “We won’t sign anybody I don’t want, no way,” said Redknapp, referring to an expected deluge of offers of players both to him and the club’s hierarchy now Rangers are back in the top flight. He added: “I’ll only sign players I know. I like to sign players I know. The ones I’ve brought here I knew – you know what you’re going to get. “You can never be 100% sure about players but I’d rather take people I know who will come in and do a job for you.” Promotion via the play-offs means QPR have slightly less time to prepare for next season than Leicester and Burnley, who went up from the Championship automatically. Redknapp has admitted there is no time to lose as he prepares to face the country’s top teams once again. He said: “We’re going to have to look around quickly and see where we can find the right type of players. You don’t want to be taking gambles. “Being in the Premier League and going to places like Anfield is what it’s all about. But you need a team to do it. You don’t want a team that’s going to get smashed up every week.” www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/redknapp-i-only-want-players-i-know8322-html-wls-football

Absolutely right that we don't want a team that gets smashed up every week.
Also glad Harry is saying he isn't going to accept signing players that he isn't comfortable with. Got to trust in HR to add players who will play for the cause and make QPR better.

I am very good with Olson and Taylor wouldn't be too bad. We definitely need younger, quicker central defenders. Dunne and Hill are too slow for the Premiership. But let's not get carried away with signings. Also I am nearly certain we get Townsend here again. Spuds benched him and he enjoyed playing here.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is lining up a reunion with Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe, [football] direct news understands. A source close to Loftus Road told FDN the London outfit hope to take the England international on loan from the MLS team for two months at the start of next year. The start of 2015 will give players in the American league a chance to embark on temporary moves to sides in Europe in an attempt to maintain their match fitness while they wait for competitive action to get back under way. The QPR insider said Redknapp’s close and long-term working relationship with the well-travelled forward makes his arrival at the club next season a distinct possibility. Defoe played under the veteran boss at Bournemouth, West Ham United, Portsmouth and Spurs and arguably played some of the best football of his career. He left White Hart Lane in February for a fee of around £6million after failing to establish himself in the first-team under two different head coaches in the 2013-14 season. From footballdirectnews.com www.footballdirectnews.com/premier-league-news/50628-mbia-favouring-sevilla-return-over-qpr.phpMbia favouring Sevilla return over QPR Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane Mbia has indicated he doesn’t envisage staying at the newly-promoted Premier League club next season. Mbia spent last season on-loan at Sevilla, helping them win the Europa League thanks in no small part to his decisive last minute goal in the second leg of their semi-final with Valencia. The former Marseille man is due back at QPR this summer and with Harry Redknapp’s men gaining a dramatic promotion, there looked a chance he would be keen to return. But the player appears focused on continuing at Sevilla, although hadn’t fully decided his future plans. “Sevilla are a big club and my family is fine here. They made me an offer of contract to stay, but now I'm focused on the World Cup. I think I will take some time to decide what to do in the future,” he revealed. Despite his Europa League heroics, Mbia wasn’t a regular for the Spaniards last term, starting only 18 La Liga games. In that time he did score three times and contribute four assists, which is a respectable total for a combative midfield player. Mbia is a divisive figure at QPR having been sent off in just his fourth game for the club and continuing that poor disciplinary record with nine yellow cards in just 29 games. He also sparked furore when he offered Joey Barton to switch clubs on Twitter, after the former Newcastle man had been part of the deal that took Mbia from Marseille to QPR.

The former England captain is without a club after Manchester United decided to release the defender following 12 years at Old Trafford. Ferdinand, who has also been linked with a move to the MLS, was one of West Ham's golden generation brought through by Redknapp and Hammers legend, Alvin, reckons a reunion is on the cards. "I think Rio will want to stay [in England]," he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. "Working with Harry again would be a big pull for him. Harry is made for Rio. The Spanish midfielder featured 27 times for Rangers following his big-money move from Real Madrid in 2012, but couldn’t stop the Rs getting relegated from the top-flight. Granero was shipped out on loan to Real Sociedad at the beginning of the season as Harry Redknapp looked to rebuild his squad for a Championship promotion push. However, the 26-year-old, who is back to fitness following a serious knee injury, is due to return to Loftus Road for pre-season training. “It wasn’t necessarily the case that players saying they wanted to leave to go out on loan,” said defender Nedum Onuoha. “It might have worked well for the club too. “I’m looking forward to Esteban Granero coming back in because I think he’s a quality player. “He’s outstanding and, having spoken to him, he really wants to come back. "He contacted me before the play-off final and said ‘please do it’ because he wants to be playing in the Premier League with QPR.”

He looks one hell of a unit Transfer news: Five Premier League clubs chasing French striker Bafetimbi Gomis By Pete O'Rourke - Follow me: @skysportspeteo | Last Updated: 30/05/14 3:37pm Bafetimbi Gomis: Talking to several Premier League clubs Sky Sports understands five Premier League clubs are battling it out to land former Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis. Gomis is one of the most sought-after free agents in the transfer market after seeing out his contract at Lyon. The 28-year-old is being chased by a number of clubs across Europe, having scored over 100 goals in Ligue 1 during his career. The likes of West Ham, Sunderland and Swansea are all thought to be admirers of Gomis and the player has been in England to talk to interested clubs this week. Gomis' representative, Willie McKay, has confirmed he has spoken to five clubs about the striker and that one club in particular are making a concerted effort to land the France international. "I am speaking to five Premier League clubs about Bafetimbi and it is no surprise there is a lot of interest in him as he is one of the best free agents out there," McKay told Sky Sports. "I am speaking to one very ambitious chairman of an ambitious club and they are very keen to sign him and Bafetimbi will go to a club who proves they really want him.
"The club who are really pushing for him have held a long-term interest in him and made a big bid for him before when he was under contract at Lyon." www1.skysports.com/football/news/11685/9331980/transfer-news-five-premier-league-clubs-chasing-french-striker-bafetimbi-gomis

Here's a couple of new names. Enough to make Greece required viewing in the World Cup?! As for the forward mentioned, let's hope not. I dunno about you guys but I have enough trouble remembering the words to the Charlie Austin song. God only knows how we could serenade him! World Cup Christian Crowther 30 May 2014 World Cup Watch: QPR must court Cameroon striker, not ageing stars Cameroon’s Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored 10 times in the Bundesliga this season A return to the promised land of the Premier League has unsurprisingly led to QPR being linked with all sorts of big-name transfer targets ahead of the World Cup, including Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand. However, Rangers must surely learn from their mistakes in terms of transfer policy and instead of going for aging stars and big names looking for a payday, Harry Redknapp must look for younger, hungry players with reasonable wage demands. The World Cup is sure to shine the spotlight on some more under-the-radar figures Redknapp could bolster his freshly promoted squad with, although firstly he’ll need to hire a log splitter in order to get rid of all the dead wood at Loftus Road. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting – Cameroon – ForwardAlthough the shirt printers at QPR will have their work cut out to fit his name on the back, the Bundesliga-based forward would offer a smashing alternative for the over-relied upon Charlie Austin. Plying his trade for Mainz, the German-born 25-year-old’s 10 league goals helped this mid-table club to a seventh-place finish this season. At 6ft 2ins, Choupo-Moting is great in the air and capable of handling the Premier League’s hurly burly, while he takes penalties and is quick enough to get in behind defences also. Given he was Cameroon’s joint top scorer in World Cup qualifying, Choupo-Moting is additionally worth considering at 5/1 to score more than his teammates in Brazil. Kostas Manolas – Greece – DefenderWith the likes of Richard Dunne and Clint Hill looking into suitable nursing homes this summer, Redknapp must inject some youth into central defence. Manolas was very close to joining Everton having caught the eye at AEK Athens, but instead chose a move to Olympiakos for the start of the 2012/13 campaign, where the 22-year-old has since impressed for the Greek champions. The young centre-back has since attracted interest from the likes of Tottenham, but QPR can steal a march. Niko Kranjcar – Croatia – Midfielder Of course the silky Croatian midfielder is no stranger to the Loftus Road faithful having spent this season there on loan from parent club Dynamo Kiev. At 29, the former Portsmouth player still has a lot to offer and with proven Premier League experience in his locker, Redknapp should make the necessary arrangements to sign him permanently. This is a deal which should be sewn up before the World Cup. news.ladbrokes.com/en-gb/football/world-cup/world-cup-watch-qpr-court-cameroon-striker-aging-stars_198337.html

Yes yes yes to Manolas!! Best centre back by far the last two seasons in Greece and on par with Sokratis for Dortmund. Caulkeresque type player. Strong, fast and an aerially dominant in defence and attack. You can have my word gents he would be one to build a solid centre back partnership with Onuoha for the future.

From skysports www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9333058/transfer-news-qpr-chairman-distances-club-from-move-for-joleon-lescott?Transfer news: QPR chairman distances club from move for Joleon Lescott Last Updated: 31/05/14 3:13pm Chairman Tony Fernandes has distanced Queens Park Rangers from a move for Joleon Lescott. The Manchester City defender, who is out of contract of next month, has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, with Rangers chief among them. QPR, who clinched promotion after a dramatic play-off final victory over Derby County, were heavily criticised during their previous stay in the top-flight for having splashed out on big names that did not produce. Manager Harry Redknapp recently ruled out moves for further out-of-contract stars Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard, and Fernandes told Sky Sports that the club will go for a different approach this time. "I think these are all fantastic players being mentioned but we have brought in players who've been at big clubs before and we got our fingers burned," he said. "We have a different philosophy from this time two years ago. We know what we want, we have a list of targets that we think are the right sort and will add tremendous value to the club. "You need a balance of youth and experience but you need to get the right experience - people who are ready to come down and battle. People who have come from places like Manchester City, having won titles and been in the Champions League, might not have the right energy you want." Fernandes, who bought the majority sharehold in 2011, held a meeting with chief executive Philip Beard, Redknapp and other officials at the club in order to discuss potential transfer targets on Friday. "We had a fantastic day talking about our targets and what we want to do. We need maybe four or five new players and we are a much better prepared club than we were two years ago," he said. "We saw at Wembley a new type of QPR culture and it made me proud. We want to keep the spirit together and get the right dressing room. It's amazing what you can do with that. "We said we'd learn and come back stronger and next season we will see. No one can guarantee anything. It's so unpredictable. But we will give it a bloody good fight to stay up."
