But by loaning him, we get nothing as the other team pays off his wages that we were supposed to. Selling him, we get 60% (if true), so 3 million out of 5 don't seem that shabby. He still has another year after the loan expires, so we can sell him after the loan. If it was the end of his contract I could understand disappointment. But if he does well on loan he will sell for more than he would right now, his value is at a low point. I see your point. Potentially - yes. How much worse it can get for Adel? Well, a fight with Berbatov always seems likely...

05/08/2013 By Lyall Thomas and David McIntyre Fulham manager Martin Jol has confirmed that Adel Taarabt will undergo a medical on Tuesday ahead of a season-loan move from QPR. Taarabt, 24, is keen to leave Loftus Road following Rangers’ relegation from the Premier League and West London Sport revealed last month that he had been sent home from a pre-season trip to Devon. Jol was Tottenham manager when they signed him as a teenager from French club Lens in 2007. Taarabt joined the R’s on loan in 2009 and was sold to them the following year by the then Spurs boss Harry Redknapp. Taarabt quickly fell out of favour following Redknapp’s arrival at QPR last term and his departure this summer has been on the cards for some time. The Moroccan was a star of Rangers’ promotion campaign in 2011 but his questionable attitude on and off the pitch led to numerous behind-the-scenes problems – particularly during his initial loan spells. “I hope to get the best out of him. I’m confident and he’s confident,” said Jol. “I like his creativity. I will try and find a way for him to gel with the others because I think he can do hell of job for us. “We have agreed a deal with the club to take him on loan. The only thing left to do is for him to have a medical, which he is doing. “If that is good he will sign for us. I expect everything to be completed tomorrow.” www.westlondonsport.com/fulham/jol-confirms-taarabt-is-heading-to-fulham?

I think Faurlin is one of the best natural footballers to pull the great hoops over his neck and many would disagree (so be it) but my my opinion of Taarabt is get what we can as think we carry him too much in the team and makes us too one dimensional ....
He's demanding a trf or just taking the piss as when he was sent back from Exeter! Knowone wants him else he'd be sold ... Happy to see him go now as worse than Barton has ever been but he's qpr's favourite child and sacrilege to say hope he JOGS ON!

From Tribalfootball www.tribalfootball.com/articles/qprs-taarabt-excited-fulham-switch-3973075?utm_source=main_feed#.UgDfM6NhiSN QPR'S TAARABT EXCITED BY FULHAM SWITCH Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Tue, 08/06/2013 - 10:14 QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt is delighted to be moving to Fulham. Taarabt is joining on a season-long loan. He told L'Equipe: "I will have my medical. I am glad to find Martin Jol here, who bought me from Lens to Tottenham and who tired to recruit me when he was on the bench for Ajax and Hamburg. "I am also very happy to have found a solution to stay in London where I lived for seven years. "Even if I have to move from the north of the city to near Chelsea."

One of the criticisms of the England Team/Manager in the 1970s was their ability to fit brilliance into the team so that Marsh and Osgood, Hudson and George, Bowles and Worthington and on, played so few games for England.
Obviously if Taaarabt is completely disruptive, has to go...But if a "Mercurial" talent requires a firm hand AND a warm hug, and can contribute to the team...Should make that effort.
And I think Redknapp came to QPR predisposed against Taarabt

Obviously if Taaarabt is completely disruptive, has to go...But if a "Mercurial" talent requires a firm hand AND a warm hug, and can contribute to the team...Should make that effort. And I think Redknapp came to QPR predisposed against Taarabt I think your right that Redknapp already had a strong opinion about Taarabt when he came to QPR but to be fair Taarabt hasn't done anything to change that opinion. The manager and coaching staff see these players every day in training and can judge their attitude where as we can only guess what goes on at Harlington or listen to rumours. I'm quite happy to see the back of him as I've said before I feel he has been a big problem in the dressing room and was willing to sit on the bench or not and sulk until he got his own way and Redknapp was never going to give into him. And for him to be willing to move to our nearest neighbours proves to me he has no feelings for our club and is just interested in Adel Taarabt so for me I hope he starts playing up there and doesn't have a great season and Fulham pay his wages and have all the hassle of dealing with him. And to those who then say if that happens we won't get any team to buy him from us for a reasonable fee. I say "we can't at the moment so nothing lost". One last thing about Adel Taarabt. Do you all remember when Joey Barton came to the club and had a run in with Taarabt in the first week he was there and nearly everyone on here including myself slaughtered Barton because he had a go at the Golden Child. Well just makes me feel did we misjudge what happened then and was Barton right to have a go at Taarabt as he could see how disruptive Taarabt was being at the club? I know the Barton haters are going to come back and say "he's a thug" and maybe he is but just makes you think!!!!!!

My views of Joey Barton are based not just on him being a cigar-wielding thug...But also how he's has acted and what he has said and tweeted in the almost two years since he joined QPR.
No one denies Taaarabt is temperamental...or acts like a child. And I'm not certain he could have been retained. But nor am I certain that in part, this is not Redknapp...
I would remind you that it's just a year since, with much fanfare, we had the club Announcing: "Adel Stays...and gets number 10"
And I'd also remind, that Stan Bowles was no perfect or easy person to handle...
Yes Team comes first. I'm just not convinced that there was no alternative.

The only thing that Redknapp is predisposed to is a desire to be successful if he can. If he thought Taarabt could have contributed more to the chance of success than he does to our chance of failure then he would be staying.
HR does not cut off his nose to spite his face and in my opinion one example of this has been the decision to pick Barton when most of us thought he would rotting in the reserves or gone elsewhere by now.

Mac I can't argue with your opinion of Joey Barton as I feel mine are the same and I haven't forgotten his tweets and the way he acted about QPR but just feel that there was more to the row between the two in training than we know and that's why I put it out there for discussion. Agreed that Stan Bowles was not a easy character to deal with but also IMO Taarabt is no Stan Bowles!!!! There is always an alternative in every situation but it's whether both parties want to accept it!!!!

Was it Redknapp who warned Warnock about signing Taarabt, telling him that Adel would get him sacked? If it was. The countdown to Adel leaving started the second Harry walked through the door.

After the last couple of years if he lets his temperament get the better of him at Fulham I don't think he will get many more chances. He's one of those players for me where I will look out for news of him. I hope he does well.

From the BBC www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23577399 Adel Taarabt: Fulham sign QPR midfielder on loan Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt has signed for Fulham on a season-long loan. The Morocco international, 24, told QPR he wanted to remain in the Premier League after the club's relegation. Taarabt said: "This was a difficult decision for me, but at this stage of my career I feel I need to be playing at the top level. "I hope the fans understand my decision and I really hope to return to Loftus Road one day." QPR said a loan deal "suited both parties". Fulham manager Martin Jol was Tottenham manager when Spurs signed Taarabt as a teenager from French side Lens in 2007. Taarabt made 150 league appearances for the Loftus Road club after joining them, initially on loan, in March 2009. The move was made permanent in August 2010 and he was named as the Championship's player of the year in 2010-11 on the way to helping Rangers win promotion to the top flight. He played 31 times in the Premier League last season, scoring five goals, as QPR finished bottom of the table.

I doubt he has any real desire to return to Loftus Rd.
Unless its in the visitors dressing room.
I doubt he'll ever play for us again. So, its thanks for the memories and now we move on.
