Remy would be a good buy. Only 25 so obviously 10 years too young for us! Are you sure he is only 25. The Remy I was just reading about, is an icon, in France, smooth neat, but complex and delicate. But a lot older than 25.

MLS defender of the year is a bit like being SPL defender of the year though. I imagine he'd be on a par with Cameron of Stoke, which would be about our level, so I don't think he would be an unrealistic target. Probably a bit less than SPL, I would imagine. He does well here in KC, but does have some room for growth as a player. He is NOT the solution that the hoops need right now to avoid relegation. Which is a good thing because he just re-upped his contract here in KC.

Lumpy as captain QPR BOSS HARRY REDKNAPP HOMES IN ON CHELSEA'S FRANK LAMPARD 15th December 2012 By Davod Woods FRANK LAMPARD is poised to accept Harry Redknapp’s offer of a two-and-a-half year deal if he is snubbed by Chelsea again tomorrow. Lampard would also be handed the captain’s armband if he agrees to join his uncle at QPR next month. He has not made a final decision about his future, although he has accepted he will not get a new contract from the Blues when his current deal expires in June. But the Redknapp offer to join in the January transfer window could look far more inviting tomorrow if Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez does not pick him in his starting XI for the Club World Cup Final against Corinthians. Lampard, 34, has become increasingly disillusioned by his treatment at Stamford Bridge, where he is in his 12th season. He was shocked to be left out of Thursday’s line-up for the semi-final win over Monterrey, with Benitez opting to play centre-back David Luiz in central midfield instead. Although Lampard has managed just one appearance as a sub – against Sunderland a week ago – following a thigh injury, he was prepared to start against the Mexican outfit. But he only came on in the 63rd minute. Benitez is understood to be ready to bring in Ramires for Luiz, who is expected to return to centre-half, and leave Lampard on the bench against the Brazilians. Lampard made it clear on Thursday he does not want to be a bit-part player. Letting him leave would save Chelsea around £3.5m in wages but anger fans. Yesterday Corinthians insisted Brazil ace Paulinho – a potential replacement for him – was not for sale. The Brazil club’s director of football, ex-Arsenal star Edu, said Paulinho did not want to leave and the club had no financial grounds for selling him.

Re Remy: I'm not a fan of getting in a striker who will take weeks to get acclimated to the Premier League if at all.
DJ, Keane or Bent (if not injured) or Anelka (I hate to say it) can all at least come in and hit the ground running. Whoever we get up front needs to already know their way around the Premier League and be able to contribute from day 1.
Recalling DJ seems to be the best option here. At least we know he will die for the cause. Him and Mackie up front will provide serious workrate up front for us.

By Jason Burt8:23AM GMT 16 Dec 2012Comment Arsenal are favourites to buy the 27-year-old Senegal player, who has a £7 million release clause, with Chelsea having expressed an interest if they fail to land their main targets of either Radamel Falcao or Gonzalo Higuaín. It is well known that Ba would not pass a medical, however, as he suffers from a chronic knee problem and is also demanding wages of around £70,000 a week, which is more than Arsenal want to pay. The player’s agents are also asking for fees of up to £2 million. Redknapp is desperate to add at least one proven striker to his squad. QPR are planning a move for Argentine Milton Caraglio, who plays for the Chilean club Rangers but Redknapp also wants a senior striker as there are hopes Djibril Cissé might be moved on

MAROUANE CHAMAKH IN QPR MOVE
ABOVE: Marouane Chamakh is set to leave Arsenal Wenger needs to get the dead wood out – the likes of Chamakh and Arshavin Former Arsenal player Ray Parlour 16th December 2012 By Carl Eldridge MISFIRING flop Marouane Chamakh could make a January move to QPR.
Morocco hitman Chamakh, 28, is not wanted at The Emirates and boss Arsene Wenger is willing to offload him – or consider a loan move to get his £65,000-a-week wages off the payroll.
Chamakh has not played a league game this season for Arsenal and could only make the bench in the Gunners’ shock Capital One Cup defeat to Bradford last week.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp knows he has to strengthen his squad if he is to steer the Loftus Road outfit clear of the Premier League drop zone.
Former Gunners ace Ray Parlour insists Wenger must show Chamakh the door – and ship out Russian outcast Andrey Arshavin, too.
He said: “Wenger needs to get the dead wood out – the likes of Chamakh and Arshavin.
“They have so many players on about £70,000 a week. Wenger has to look at his players and really up the quality because he has lost some unbelievable players in the last few years.”

I spoke with Sir Les on Saturday as he was sat two rows in front of me. I didn't ask him if he wanted a job coaching our strikers though, I just welcomed him home! Good to see him at Loftus Road and hopefully a sign that he's on his way back.

I love Distin (he can play as a fullback), but we have Hill and Nelsen, and that move would be a bit pointless. A cover? Sure. But I doubt it.
Ben Haim? So not happening.
Sinclair? No way. He's too proud to look so dumb by this move; and he's too expensive, probably. But on loan? - maybe...
Keita is an attacking/passing midfielder, we have too many of those already.

Redknapp to meet QPR owner Fernandes over January transfer targets Anelka and Cole By SAMI MOKBEL PUBLISHED: 22:30, 17 December 2012 | UPDATED: 22:30, 17 December 2012 Comments (0) Share Harry Redknapp will meet Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes this week to discuss the club's transfer window plans. Redknapp will have £10million to spend in January but is expected to rely largely on loan deals. Liverpool's Joe Cole and former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka are targets. Anelka is also being targeted by east Londoners West Ham. Cole has struggled to force his way back into the Liverpool team since he returned from a season-long loan at French side Lille. The 31-year-old made 32 appearances for the Ligue 1 club and scored four goals. Should Cole choose to link up with Redknapp it would not be for the first time. The former England international played under Redknapp during his time at West Ham. The midfielder scored his first goal of the season against the Hammers last week, but doesn't appear to be in Brendan Rodgers' plans. Meanwhile, QPR are preparing an official approach for Tottenham coach Les Ferdinand. They are also keen on adding Clive Allen to their set-up. Mackie it happen: Fulham set to make surprise move for QPR striker
17 Dec 2012 22:29 Cottagers could get the hard running forward on the cheap if Harry brings in new faces in January
Hot Scot: Mackie has been a regular starter under Redknapp Fulham boss Martin Jol is ready to make a surprise move for QPR striker Jamie Mackie in a rare raid on his club’s local rivals.
Jol is keen to snap up the Scotland international forward to add fresh legs to his attack - and he is waiting to see if he becomes available.
Mackie has been a starter for Harry Redknapp so far but he may be squeezed out of the side if the new Rangers chief signs recruits.
It would be an unpopular deal because the two clubs do not get on, but Mackie may be willing to switch for a game and a bigger contract.
Mackie was a target for Blackburn Rovers in the last window and was rated at around £3 million at the time.
If Fulham can get him for that fee or less Jol will add the hard-running forward to his squad in the window.
Meanwhile, QPR are ready to offer Nicolas Anelka a short-term escape from China.

DEC 20 2012 Liverpool Star Set To Be Harry Redknapp's First QPR Signing
Out of favour Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is set to be Harry Redknapp's first signing as QPR manager when the January transfer window opens. The 31 year old has struggled to establish himself under Brendan Rodgers after he returned from a season long loan spell at Lille in the summer and now Redknapp hopes to take Cole to Loftus Road on loan for the rest of the season according to the Daily Express. The former England star is on a £90,000-a-week deal at Anfield and while QPR owner Tony Fernandes is prepared to cover most of that sum, he wants to come to a deal with Liverpool in which they pay a portion of it. Redknapp is today set to sit down with Fernandes with a list of his requirements for January, mainly loan deals. Apart from Cole, who was with him at West Ham, they include Nicolas Anelka, Peter Crouch and Kenwyne Jones.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp admits he would like to sign Nicolas Anelka Last Updated: December 21, 2012 3:36pm
Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp admits he would be delighted if the club can lure Nicolas Anelka back to the Premier League.
The 33-year-old striker left west London rivals Chelsea to join Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua almost a year ago.
But Anelka looks set to end his time in Far East following a pay dispute, and Redknapp has confirmed his interest in bringing him to Loftus Road.
"He is a player that is of interest to anybody," said Redknapp as he prepares for QPR's trip to Newcastle. "I think he is finishing in China so he is available.
"It is what you can do, whether you can afford these players, what they are looking for, whether they are reasonable, whether you can deal with them and most importantly whether you think they can do the job you want.
"He is a top player so he is a player we would be interested in, but whether we could afford to get anywhere near I him I am not sure.
"It depends, as I say, just how expensive the whole package comes to. If it is within reason, he is a player that could certainly improve your team. There is no doubt about it."

Demba snubs Q.P.Ba bid Exclusive By PAT SHEEHAN Published: 1 hr ago 0 DEMBA BA has snubbed an £80,000-a-week offer from QPR. The Toon striker turned down the Premier League strugglers — knowing Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs are queuing up to grab him in the January transfer window. They know Ba has a get-out clause in his contract that allows him to open negotiations with any club which bids £7.5million or more. Newcastle appear resigned to losing the 27-year-old, who is Newcastle’s top scorer this season with 11 goals. They are already hunting for a top-quality replacement. Talks have been going on with Ba for months but he has turned down all the Toon proposals. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has been looking at Marseille striker Loic Remy to fill Ba’s boots.
