How do you think they will get on? i think they will struggle in the group stage and just about finish 2nd then go out in the first knockout game!

I'll be cheering for them which is what I usually do when there's no NZ or Australia involved in a major football tournament

Can't say I am interested or ever have been interested. I am strictly a club football man and never watch international or foreign football. For what it's worth, however, I think it will be an early exit.

Yep I think it will be another England performance that leaves you thinking "why bother".
And when the dust has settled on England's shambolic end in the Euros , we will be saying OVER-RATED and OVER-PAID .
So in a nut shell : we will be ourselves POOR!

being Scottish , i dont care what England do . But in football terms , i think England should be doing better than what they are at the moment . Just seen the highlights of Brazil v USA , the Brazilian Olympic squad , and cant see them being beaten . Is it a case of to many None English players in the top EPL teams .??

The good news is that Lampard and Barry wont play, and hopefully someone will break Terry`s leg in training. England are better off without the prima dona wonkers.

France will easily win the group, so it will be a toss up between 3 sh1te teams

England should qualify from that group.
The key for England will be their defence, which I would say is potentially one of the best in this tournament. Hart will keep them in the France game, though I can see a 0-0 or a 1-1 result there. Possibly a 1-0 win to France as I cannot see England beating them without Rooney.
As for Ukraine and Sweden, Ukraine are poor defensively so England should be able to beat them and Swede are also weak at the back.
In the knockout phase though, Germany, Italy, Spain and Netherlands really should have too much firepower for England to realistically handle.

I'm getting fed up with all this racist talk by the way, how many black players were in the team the last time England won something

Well as sven used to say, i think we will lose the first against France we never seem to beat them anymore, then win the next two, then who knows as its knockout football with the dreaded penalty shootout coming into things and we all know what England and penalty shootouts mean, but im not going to make predictions ever again when it comes to England cos im always wrong, all i ask of England is the same of QPR, 100% effort if they do that then whatever will be will be.

we are b***dy awful, can't get rid of the ball quick enough, sideways, backwards or hoof it. Anything resembling football would be a bonus

We will play the newly adopted "park the bus" format and win the thing being the most boring side to ever play in it.
Or something like that.
COME ON ENGLAND!!! ;D

Her's the thing; when last did Engalnd beat France and Sweden ina competive match - in fact when last did England beat France? I don't think they have beaten Sweden ina tournamnet and I think the last time they beat France was at the 1982 WC in Spain. Let's not forget that the support that will be with co-hosts Ukraine - who are by no means mugs in International football (let's put it this way I think they are miles better than co-hosts from the last Euro's Austria). In my view the odds were already against England from the star and got harder whne the draw was made. Now take into account the following other factors; The team will be based in Poland but play their games in the Ukraine - a lot of unecessary travel from base to matches in my view. Their record in the Euros is generally poor - only one semi-final and one other quarterfinal appearance, assuming they managed to qualify in the first place. They hired their coach on the eve of the tournament. Rooney is out for 2 games - which would have been a disadvantage if Rooney ever produces anything when he plays for the National Team (which he hardly ever does - at the WC in SA he was just plain pathetic), but I think RH is going to compound the problem by actually selecting him. Why? ? Too many prima donnas and couldn't care less attitudes in the team. Nope I wouldn't be surprised if they finish rock bottom in their group - and as much as I would like them to do well I can't see them getting into the knockout stage.

I feel sorry for Roy. A good manager, who is seen going to have the media against him because of an inevitable poor tournament but is it really his fault? Wilshere, Lampard, Bent, Rooney, Barry all out in some way or another. I really disagree with his selecting of Downing and Carroll but he's always had it against him.
I actually think getting to the quarters would be an achievement if you look at the team. We play Belgium today. Is the squad really that much better than Belgium?
