Why wouldn't you want him?? He's one of the top talents in the Prem. arguably better than Tarbs Rubbish Rory, take our Championship winning season, if you had swapped them two no way would Hoilett have had that impact . Taarabt's potential is massive, I can see him being one of the best players in the Prem next season. I'm just going by what both players have done in the Prem, not what they can possibly do in the future.

Eurobot: Okay the Bot was late because it was speaking to one of its human contacts - a contact that assures Junior Hoilett will sign for QPR today. That would be some coup, and testament to the appointment of Mark Hughes

It's impossible to say, Hoilett has been in the Premier League not the Championship. Think he would have done very well but Warnock wouldn't have built the team around him just to please him as his attitude isn't the same as Adel's back then. The whole team would have been different

Joey Barton: Sheffield Wednesday keen on QPR midfielder Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones has admitted he would be interested in signing Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton. The 29-year-old has been stripped of the QPR captaincy after being hit with a 12-match ban for his sending off at Manchester City last season. Jones told BBC Radio Sheffield: "If he became available then he would be a player we'd look at. "The deal would need to be right for the club and for Joey." He added: "He's got a reputation but then so have a number of players we've got at this club and it wouldn't be something that would put us off bringing a player of Joey's calibre to the club. "We wouldn't have him for 12 games and that would be something we'd have to consider." Barton joined the Loftus Road side last August on a four-year deal after being given a free transfer by Newcastle. He made 31 appearances for the R's as they retained their Premier League status but he struggled for form and the lengthy ban he received for his red card at the Etihad Stadium means his future at the club is uncertain. The former Manchester City man last played in the Championship in 2009-10, playing 15 times for the Magpies as they won instant promotion back to the Premier League. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18861086

His profile from Portugoal www.portugoal.net/index.php/player-profiles/119-players-a-c/69-player-profile-bruno-alvesPlayer Profile: Bruno Alves Full name: Bruno Eduardo Regufe Alves Position: Defender Date of Birth: 27 November 1981 Birthplace: Porto, Portugal Not too long ago Bruno Alves was in danger of seeing his career nosedive into a nondescript story of a promising defender who was let down by an inability to control his temperament. The potential of the tall and solidly built centre-half, a product of FC Porto’s youth system and son of a professional footballer was there for all to see. At 1.87m he is almost invincible in the air, and as well as a fearsome defender Alves is more than happy to add his considerable weight to the attack where he is a potent weapon at corners and set-pieces. However, the massive Alves achieved notoriety in his early years more for his often violent conduct on the pitch, with a series of red cards stunting his progress. He infamously head-butted Nuno Gomes in 2005/06 as FC Porto fell to a rare home defeat against bitter rivals Benfica. Curiosity Bruno Alves’ older brother, Geraldo, is also a high-quality centre-half, who played for AEK Athens among other teams, a club Bruno represented in 2004/05, while younger brother Júlio Alves is a promising holding midfielder currently playing for Besiktas. After being loaned out by the Dragons to Farense and Guimaraes in Portugal, then AEK Athens in Greece, Alves returned to Portugal a more mature player and gradually began to make his mark in a more positive manner. Turning point The arrival of Jesualdo Ferreira at the helm of FC Porto would signal the turning point in Alves’ career. He beat off the stiff competition for a starting berth in the team alongside Pepe and formed a rock solid partnership with the Brazilian. A superb season saw the player, now in his mid twenties, finally come of age. Alves was a virtual ever-present as Porto won another Portuguese Championship, and while the likes of Ricardo Quaresma, Anderson, Lucho Gonzalez and Pepe picked up most of the plaudits, Alves’ key role in the success did not go unnoticed. Luiz Filipe Scolari gave the defender his full Portugal debut in June 2007 against Kuwait, and over the summer rumours emerged that Premiership club Aston Villa were chasing his signature. But Alves was quick to pledge his loyalty to Porto, and following the sale of Pepe to Real Madrid the commanding centre-back became the undisputed boss of the Dragons’ defence. In fact, during the three seasons that followed, he led his team to numerous trophies and ended up claiming his spot on the Selecção alongside Ricardo Carvalho, Pepe or Rolando. In August 2010, Alves finally got his wish and moved abroad, to Zenit St. Petersburg. He immediately claimed a spot on the line-up, but manager Luciano Spalletti has played him less and less over the last months, fuelling the rumour that Alves will leave after the European Championships. by Tom Kundert and Vasco Mota Pereira (16/05/2012)

Fitz Hall is in talks with Watford ahead of a possible move to Vicarage Road. The injury-plagued defender is available on a Bosman free transfer, having been released by QPR when his contract recently expired. Leicester and Sheffield Wednesday have also shown some interest in him, but he is keen to stay in the south and is close to agreeing terms with the Hornets. Hall, 31, made only 67 league starts for Rangers, who signed him from Wigan in January 2008. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/defender-hall-close6-to72-watford-move?

Hoilett Set For QPR Say Reports By Andy Updated Tuesday, 17th July 2012 Blackburn Rovers RSS Feed
Reports coming out of London say that Rovers winger Junior Hoilett is very close to making a move to Loftus Road. It seems that they have beaten off competition from Newcastle United and Sunderland who were the other English clubs interested in getting his signature on a deal. German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach were to hold talks with the player over the weekend, but word is that Hoilett prefers a move to the capital. Rangers will have to pay Blackburn compensation for Hoilett as he is under 24.

QPR have launched a surprise bid to sign Portugal defender Bruno Alves, according to reports in Italy. Italian newspaper Tuttosport claims Rangers have offered Alves’ club Zenit St Petersburg £10.9m for the 30-year-old, who appeared in all five of Portugal’s matches at Euro 2012 earlier this summer. Landing a defender of Alves’ quality would represent a huge coup for the Loftus Road side, with Juventus and AC Milan also thought to be keen on the former Porto man. However, Milan remain favourites to secure Alves’ services as they hunt for a replacement for Brazil international Thiago Silva, who joined French club PSG earlier this week. You have to look at this way. He had a very, very difficult decision to make. He could sign for a club that will take part in next season's Champions League in front of a packed 52,000 seater stadium in a country his brother lives in or he could sign for us; even though we have a much smaller stadium, worse facilities (for now) and only just stayed up we play in what most think is the best league in the world, we have huge ambitions for the future and can pay him more. Not only that but he has always wanted to play for England, something he couldn't achieve if he moved to Germany. That is an incredibly tough choice for a 22 year old to make, do you not think?? Why do you keep saying he can't play for England if he plays in Germany? Stop saying it, it's toilet. lol

Portuguezers: Blackburn boss Steve Kean eyes two more Portuguese players as he plots Prem return The Rovers manager is handing a trial to Paulo Jorge and wants Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva Steve's Kean on Paulo Jorge: Blackburn boss wants to sign the Porto youngster Getty Steve Kean could sign a third Portuguese player after handing a trial to Porto starlet Paulo Jorge. The 18-year-old midfielder is a member of Portugal's Under-19 side and Kean will run the rule over him this week. He will train with Blackburn and play in a practice match against Macclesfield tomorrow. Kean has already signed Portuguese players Nuno Gomes and Fabio Nunes and has good contacts in the country from his time there as a player. Kean may even sign a fourth Portuguese and he remains keen on Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva. It emerged late last week that Joey Barton could be set to drop down to the Championship with Blackburn this season. Rovers target: Joey Barton is also on Steve Kean's shopping list Relegated Rovers boss Kean is trying to put together a squad that he hopes will seal an immediate return to the Premier League and is in talks with Queens Park Rangers about taking ex-Hoops skipper Barton on a season-long loan.
The former Newcastle midfielder has been banned for the first 12 games of next season for his final-day meltdown at the Etihad Stadium when he was sent off after clashing with Manchester City's Samir Nasri.
QPR conducted their own investigation into the incident and then stripped him of the captaincy and fined him six weeks' wages.
Although he is banned for 12 games, Blackburn's Championship season is 46 games long and with League Cup and FA Cup ties as well, he will serve his ban in a shorter space of time than he would in the Premier League with QPR.
Blackburn cannot afford his £80,000-a-week wages, but MirrorFootball understands QPR are willing to subsidise the move and pay a large percentage of his salary.www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/blackburn-boss-steve-kean-eyes-1145734
