Folks, I don't work for QPR, but I had much better ideas than they did, so I was welcomed aboard. If I was employed by that rabble, I wouldn't give a S**t if I was sacked anyway!
So let 'em read it, I have very different 'BOSSES' anyway!!!
Well these were the ideas I put to them- Our iconic, 4 hooped, long sleeve, '60's ' Rodney Shirt'. The home shirt we won the league wearing in '67 (And should of worn at Wembley!), the shirt you see in more photos than any other, also worn by- Bowles, Francis, Venables, Clement.. etc, etc. This shirt has NEVER been available before, imagine how much they would make from that shirt? (It's bloody obvious to have that shirt to me, but not them!), The Admiral 70's shirt. (They wanted to make it without the collars, I argued 'What's the point of that'?, so they agreed to re-make the original), The '67 Wembley track top (With added 'Victory' printing), The 70's Track top (The blue one with the white V), The away 4 squared red & white 70's shirt, REAL silk quality version of the '82 Cup Final shirt (Not that bland cotton crap!), A complete Marsh signature series, from Track Tops to keyrings- Blue top with Hammersmith crest on left chest with Rodney's printed signature underneath and R.M.- 10 other side of chest, 10 on sleeve, Rodney Marsh and a big 10 on back, the 10 made up of a collage of Rod photos. A '67 version but white and R.M.-10-'67 instead, Rod's signature under Hammersmith Crest other side, '67 on sleeve and RODNEY MARSH- 10 on back made from photos of Rod at Wembley.
The' signature series' could also be made for Bowles, Francis & Ferdinand.
Track bottoms & 3/4 lengths with a row of our best emblems in a row on one leg, Q.P.R. on the other- sold separately on there own, so you don't have to buy a £60 Track Suit just to get the bottoms!!!
White '67 version Bottoms.
'67 tribute white shirt, ' QPR DOUBLE WINNERS '67' team photo with printed signatures, ' WEMBLEY WINNERS ' on back with '67 made from action shots of League Cup and key games and Mike Keen lifting cup rising from it. The players names underneath (Also in Track Top). Mike Keen tribute shirt ' CUP WINNING CAPTAIN' photo of Mike with Cup and birth & death dates underneath. 'CAPTAIN KEEN- NEVER FORGOTTEN'
on back. ROD-NEEEY- Shirt ' THE PERFECT HAT-RICK' photos of each goal, Rod's Signature on chest and MARSH -10 on back, the same but 'WEMBLEY WONDER GOAL '67' and photo of during and after goal baiting the WBA fans. ' STANLEY BOWLES- LORD OF LOFTUS ROAD' shirt, Stan's signature on chest, and a big 10 made up of Stan photos. 'STAN BOWLES' 10 on back, same shirt of ' GENERAL GERRY FRANCIS' (Different number!), and ' SIR LES OF LOFTUS ROAD' ferdy shirt, All in Track tops as well.
'DAVE 'CLASS' CLEMENT' shirt, photo of Dave and dates underneath. 'DAVE CLEMENT- CLASS NEVER DIES!' on back.
( BY the way, i'm sick of people asking me 'Why was Dave stabbed?',this comes from our great historian Gordon Macey. Dave was NOT stabbed, he broke his leg, fell into deep depression and killed himself by drinking weed killer! FACT!)
re- stock all the 'view from' shirts & shorts, re-stock Brooks Shirts & shorts, re-stock '50's White shirt, Tribute shirt to the 'HOLY' number 10, blue shirt, white writing - RODNEY MARSH, STANLEY BOWLES, TONY CURRIE, SIMON STAINROD, ROY WEGERLE, photo of each with printed signatures on front, 'THE HOLY QPR SHIRT', MARSH, BOWLES, CURRIE, STAINROD, WEGERLE, on back, a 10 made of photos of each. 'NON GENIUS NEED NOT APPLY' underneath (Also Track top), Tony Ingham tribute shirt, 50's line up shirt, Classic programme covers shirt, The shop walls should be covered with signed photos from all our legends hand signed ' To the greatest fans in the World!' not for sale, but to bring that warm feeling back we used to have, NOT that cold ' Buy something and P**s Off' feeling with 10 security guards in orange watching you and people asking what you think of the shop? and how can we improve it?
Pick your own 'QPR DREAM TEAM' shirt or poster, made of players photos, in formation, manager & Subs... and have it delivered in 5 days. Most things above can be made into posters.
THE SMALL SHOP!!!!
Why the Hell, have we got a smaller shop further down the road from a Mega-Store - selling EXACTLY the same crap???
I suggested, this should be the 'QPR MUSEUM/ HALL OF FAME'
All sorts of memorabilia on show and the history behind it. The hall of fame, will start with auto selections- Mike Keen, Rodney Marsh, Roger Morgan, Mark Lazarus, Gerry Francis, Stan Bowles, Les Ferdinand & Tony Ingham. After that, annual inductees will be chosen via FANS votes. The winner (If possible or a relative), will unveil a gold plaque next to a big photo of them in action on the wall and presented with a 'Thank You' engraved medal on behalf of the Club & Fans.
Also, in here a rare & retro only gift shop. Tons of programmes inc, every QPR testimonial, tickets & posters.Signed books, genuine hand written signed photos, signed shirts, legends signed & framed montages (Including unsung idols- Les Allen, Ron Hunt, Tony Hazell, Roger Morgan, Dave Thomas, Don Masson, Terry Mancini, Brian Bedford, Kenny Sansom, Ron Springett, Paul Parker, Tommy Langley. etc, etc, not just the usual Stan, Rod, Gerry & Ferdy stuff.
All retro clothing, Match worn shirts, pennants, flags, badges, old books- signed & unsigned (like 'Shooting to the top' Rod's first autobiography was published in 1969!!) and books like 'The road to glory'.
If a player is still around & you can't find a signature for them, The Club should have contact with them, and be able to order it.
There should also be a small range of rare items for the visiting team.
You should be met and greeted here by an ex or current QPR player. Entrance fee should be £10-£15, the Museum & shop will be changing every couple of months, the player- every couple of weeks. This way, you are paying for something you WANT to see, rather than just raising prices!
THE SPRINGBOK
A season's calender should be arranged for ' An AUDIENCE WITH' a former well known player/players, staged every two months and printed in the match programme. The player will sign a contract to assure they turn up! (STANLEY!!!!!) This will be £20 entry, once all tickets are all sold.. that's it!
This will cover the cost of the player and GENUINE SECURITY with SIA badges. A big screen will be set up, showing the player in action, he will then talk about his career followed by Q & A. Merchandise will be sold to be signed, and everyone who wants one will have a photo. The Show will last about 2 hours.Just book which players nights you want to see, from the list in the programme. I personally, can get a few of the '67, '76' & '82 lads together for special nights!
So, you can watch a great match (Maybe?), at our Club, then over the road for time with a legend- Current players will be encouraged to attend. Sounds like a good afternoon to me, and it won't cost the Club a penny... EVERYTHING I have mentioned will make them money.
I used to put on boxing shows & packed London's Hammersmith Palais 4 times. One thing we always did, which was SOOOOO easy was record the whole night, after 10 minutes of the evening finishing you could buy the whole night on DVD- or order it.
Imagine doing the same at QPR!
After the game, go round to the shop and buy the whole match you have watched for £5
?
If just 2000 did this out of 20, 000 every home game, I think the Club would make a hell of a lot more money than one season review per year!! (Which we will probably buy as well.)
I have done all this stuff, it's not dreaming, it's been done!!!!
Except, there is already 20,000 odd customers next door, so no paying a fortune on printing to sell the show!
Everything here gives US something & makes the Club more money, than merely charging dream land prices to working class people who can't buy a £60 track suit, that's actually worth £5 !!!!
As a proud working class bloke from the poor part of West London (Which they don't understand is where our Club is & what our fans are. White City, The Bush, Acton etc.... is NOT bloody Mayfair, and Daddy never bought us a Porsche on our 18th!!!! we just wanted enough dosh to go out & get completely wrecked, to take our minds off our crap 2 bob job!!!!!!... That's the difference between me & them, I know that a lot of loyal fans can't even afford a programme with their ticket(They should come with the ticket in my opinion!!!)
£90 to attend a team re-union, is taking the P**s!!
The Player of the year (Who should be selected by US who pay to watch them!) night, should be mostly a competition winning prize staged every home game... NOT £90 entry ... FINAL!
And if you have thought about entering for Supporter of the year..... Don't bother!
They choose the winner long before the night, and it's usually the same set of people!
I have attached a couple of files Francis Atkinson sent me for approval, proof that they were MY ideas!!!
The first thing I was told upon their acceptance of these items was " We don't have it in the budget to pay you!"
I didn't do it for that reason, but it shows what their first priority is... RIP PEOPLE OFF!!!
I know that Francis will also take all the credit (Their is NO mention of me on the framed photo web site, which was my idea completely, but NOT those prices!
I have also told them about 5 times that you won't sell any, the photos have no watermark or anti down load system. They didn't listen, so everyone is just dragging the photos off, printing them out & putting them in their frames... costing nothing!!!!)
Ok, that's the ideas I suggested, and they were over the moon!
Take a little time & let me know what you think of the ideas.......... and I will be back very soon to tell you what happened next!!!
Love 'ya all- up the HOOPS!!!
Tel Currie
Bloody hell, give us a chance!
