And just to note there are individual board posters who post rumours, which for whatever reason, often turn out not to be fully valid; and then there are the individuals who reliably report. Dave McIntyre of course is in this second category.
Dave Mcintyre BBC 606 Rangers don’t need to rush the signing of a new keeper despite Lee Camp’s move to Nottingham Forest. Camp has departed on an initial three-month loan and Forest have the option of signing him for an agreed fee when the transfer window opens in January. But QPR also have an option to recall Camp should they need him before then, meaning a new signing isn’t urgent. Camp was made available for a loan move some time ago and more recently was told he could leave altogether if another club came in for him, so his exit has been on the cards. Rangers have been looking at a number of alternatives to both Camp and Radek Cerny. Sunderland’s Marton Fulop was targeted and Peterborough prospect Joe Lewis has also been watched, but the option to recall Camp gives Rangers some breathing space.
A striker remains their priority and a number of possible signings are being discussed. Caleb Folan is one of them, despite Hull’s refusal to part with him late last week, but Sunderland’s Michael Chopra remains the top target. After a mixed start to the season and some criticism of the owners for not spending even more money, cash has been made available for a forward. The task is to first convince a Premier League club to sell and then to convince a player to drop down a division.
