Totally condemn the drinking/driving, but that's quite a penaltyColchester Gazette - Colchester United accept Steve Bradshaw's resignation 23rd December 2009 Emily Parsons » THE Chief Executive of Colchester United has resigned after being arrested for drink-driving. Steve Bradshaw, who took over the role just 12 months ago, was driving back to Clacton after a club Christmas party when he had a minor accident in Bradfield. Police were called and routinely breathalysed the 43-year-old on December 14, where they discovered he was over the legal limit. Mr Bradshaw has apologised for the “error of judgement” and immediately tendered his resignation. This was yesterday accepted by the chairman of the club, Robbie Cowling. www.gazette-news.co.uk/sport/colchesterunited/4817863.U_s_Chief_Executive_resigns_after_drink_drive_arrest/

Colchester Official Site Chairman Issues Statement Posted on: Tue 22 Dec 2009 Colchester United Football Club can confirm that Chief Executive Steve Bradshaw has resigned from his position with the U's. Steve, who joined the U's in December 2008 from the Colchester United Community Sports Trust, leaves his position with immediate effect. Steve was involved in a minor road accident last Monday. He subsequently failed a breathalyser test. "In light of the current investigation against me, I have chosen to resign from my position as Chief Executive of the Football Club," Steve said. "Furthermore, in light of the club's role in the community, I felt that my resignation was the appropriate measure at this time." U's chairman Robbie Cowling, who appointed Steve as Chief Executive twelve months ago, expressed his regret at Tuesday's news. He added: "I have regretfully accepted Steve's resignation. "He has been with us for just over a year and the club has made significant progress in our aims and ambitions in that time. "I wish him all the very best for the future." www.cu-fc.com/page/News/0,,10424~1912657,00.html

mike, you may want to delete my above dry humour if you think that the Italian one might get sensitive over it, especially once his nark informant tells him - he who must be obeyed.

Well put it this way: There is the person who professes to be "shocked. Just shocked" at certain posts. (Shocked/Disgusted/Appalled, etc) ..SO maybe with apologies, a slight tweak...
