Birmingham City season ticket holders get free tickets for Wolves Cup game
BLUES have taken the unprecedented step of offering free admission to all season ticket holders for the FA Cup third-round tie against Wolves at St Andrews in January.
It launches their New Year . . . New Start campaign in 2009, aimed at rewarding fans loyalty and wooing back the missing thousands.
The board will unveil a 10-point pledge in January, which includes free entry to under-8s accompanied by an adult in the family stand for 2009-10, guaranteeing a big screen for the same campaign and interest free direct debit for season ticket payments, regardless of division.
Season ticket holders will also be given a s10 voucher to be used in the club shop in 2009 and a free ticket for one of the following home games for a friend or family member Cardiff City (January 17), Derby County (January 27) or Nottingham Forest (February 14).
And this Saturdays visit of Watford to St Andrews has been designated kids-for-a-quid.
In a statement, released by the clubs head of marketing and communications Alexa Stockham, Blues thanked fans for their support so far this season and said we look forward to working together to make this a better club in 2009.
The New Year . . . New Start campaign is the boards chance to inform all supporters about our 10-point pledge on how we are going to improve our fans matchday experience, reward them for their loyalty and make football at St Andrews enjoyable and affordable in 2009, the statement read. So its a real chance for the board and the supporters to enter the New Year with a fresh approach.
The 10-point pledge will be sent out in the post to all supporters, plus full season ticket holders will also receive their free match ticket voucher and free s10 voucher to spend in the shop.
In light of the current 2.5 per cent VAT reduction, the club have decided to offer all current season ticket holders these three offers as this would benefit our supporters more than just the 2.5 per cent off VAT, the statement added.
No date or kick-off time has yet been arranged for the FA Cup visit of Wolves.
