When we went down in 1995/96, never in wildest nightmare would I have believed all we've gone through in the past 13 seasons. Or that we wouldn't long since have returned to the Premiership.
Thought we were a great bet for instant promotion. If not that, then might 2 or 3 seasons more...
Just amazing all that's happened. And whether it's Wilkins fault or Thompson or Wright's or anyone, just been quite a period.
Obviously things are (sort of) looking up - compared to our relegation to the Third Division; and our Playoff Final loss; and the various off-the-field events, etc, etc. But what a time.

all our best players were sold off to keep Thompson flush . Goalkeeping mediocre. despite that Fergusons man with the whistle made sure that they played until they got the equalizer, game over. Cantona now a movie legend. Otherwise one more year. but it was inevitable. Look at all the teams with us in prem then. where are they now. Luton, Notts county Nottm Forest, sheffield United Leeds, Sheffield wednesday, Norwich city Southampton, coventry, more. All sank deeply into debt and none deeper than us.
