Cardiff City boss Dave Jones was celebrating today after being named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for October.
Jones' side enjoyed a fantastic month in October with three wins and a draw from their four league fixtures.
The Bluebirds kicked off the month with a comprehensive four goal victory away at Watford, before securing a solid point against Crystal Palace. They continued their impressive run with three points against Coventry City, before rounding off a successful unbeaten month with a thrilling 4 - 3 win away to Sheffield United, leaving the team comfortably in the Coca-Cola Championship Play-Off places as they head into November.
Also short-listed for the October award were Nigel Pearson of Leicester City, Billy Davies of Nottingham Forest and Swansea City's Paulo Sousa.
Alan Curbishley, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Dave Jones' Cardiff City were unbeaten throughout October and he masterminded two great away wins during the month, at Watford and Sheffield United, with his team scoring 8 goals in the process".
Kenny Jackett of Millwall won the award in League 1 and John Sheridan of Chesterfield was given the League 2 accolade.
The decision to present the Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month award was made by the Coca-Cola Awards panel. Headed by Alan Curbishley the panel also includes former World Cup referee Jack Taylor, on behalf of The Football League, Olaf Dixon of the League Managers Association and Steve Watts, Marketing Assets Manager, Coca-Cola Great Britain.

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett was celebrating today after being named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for October.
Millwall enjoyed an excellent unbeaten month, winning four and drawing one of their five league fixtures.
They began October in outstanding goal-scoring form, recording comprehensive wins over both Tranmere Rovers and Stockport County. But, the Lions undoubted highlight was their victory over top-of-the-table Leeds United, a result which was followed by a further three points against high-flying Colchester United to ensure Jackett's men ended the month in the Play Off places in Coca-Cola League 1.
Also short-listed for the October award were Paul Ince of Milton Keynes Dons, Paul Lambert of Norwich City and Southampton's Alan Pardew.
Alan Curbishley, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Kenny Jackett had an unbeaten run in October and Millwall beat top of the table rivals Leeds United and Colchester United. Kenny has really put Millwall in the mix with the promotion hopefuls with his side's results this month."
