Could anyone be worse than Stewart Houston? Yes: Ray Harford! (Even though Harford came with a very strong coaching reputation)

ROBBED!
Chris Hughton wins. Congrats ( I Thought should have been Holloway)Sky - Hughton named manager of month Sky Blues striker Best is Championship's top playerLast updated: 3rd October 2009 Newcastle caretaker boss Chris Hughton has been named the Coca-Cola Championship manager of the month for September, while Coventry striker Leon Best scooped the player award. It is the second successive prize that Hughton has claimed having guided the Magpies to the summit of the Championship as they target an immediate return to the Premier League. Hughton stepped into the breach at St James' Park over the summer following Alan Shearer's brief tenure and has helped stabilise the club on the field despite continued uncertainty behind the scenes. And he insisted that his squad and backroom staff of Colin Calderwood and Paul Barron deserved as much of the credit for claiming the award. Team award Hughton told Sky Sports News: "It's very pleasing, but it's very much an award for this group of lads and the staff I've got working with me. It's very much a team award. "I'm certainly enjoying it at the moment. It's very difficult not to when you've got a group of lads performing as they are, and we're at the right end of the table. "But I know there are going to be difficult times ahead of us. There are times when we're going to be stretched and perhaps we're going to get the injuries that other teams have already had this season. "I've enjoyed the challenge, and it has been a real challenge at times, but there are certain aspects which have been made easier by the staff that we have and the group of players that we have." Best Sky Blues striker Best was named Coca-Cola Championship player of the month after netting five times through September. The Republic of Ireland international held off competition from Kevin Nolan, Matty Fryatt and Grant McCann to claim the prize. www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5604199,00.html

Toon Chief Takes Manager Prize! By Craig Hope
CHRIS Hughton has landed the Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month award for September to add to his August prize. The former Republic of Ireland international has continued to lead the Magpies in a caretaker capacity through September with his side cementing their place at the top of the Championship. But, as ever, Hughton was quick to deflect praise onto others. "I'm delighted to win back-to-back awards, but I must stress this is a team award," he told nufc.co.uk. "The players have been fantastic in their approach on the training field and that has showed with performances and results on the pitch - they have put us where we are at the top of the league. "But this is also for the staff because Colin Calderwood and Paul Barron have been magnificent through this period." www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1816524,00.html#

I'd have liked Magilton to win it. We don't REALLY believe in a curse... do we.... (Would have given him a little extra job security) Anyway the other Division winnersFootball League Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope was celebrating today after being named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for September. Trollope's side enjoyed a fantastic month in September with four wins and a draw from their five league fixtures. The Gas Heads kicked off the month with successive victories against Millwall, Oldham Athletic and Brentford before recording a solid point against Brighton & Hove Albion. They continued their impressive run with a further three points at Southampton to round off a successful unbeaten month which saw them climb four places to challenge for top spot in Coca-Cola League 1. Also short-listed for the September award were Aidy Boothroyd of Colchester United, Simon Grayson of Leeds United and Oldham Athletic's Dave Penney. www.football-league.co.uk/league1/news/trollope-named-manager-of-the-month-20091003_2248206_1816525Rochdale boss Keith Hill was celebrating today after being named Coca-Cola League 2 Manager of the Month for September. After a difficult opening to the season Keith Hill's side enjoyed an excellent September, winning four of their five league fixtures. They began the month with a high-scoring away draw at Morecambe before going on to record back to back wins over Torquay United and Northampton Town. Dale ended September with further victories over Hereford United and Darlington to remain unbeaten and move up to be among the early pacesetters in Coca-Cola League 2. Also short-listed for the September award were John Coleman of Accrington Stanley, Eddie Howe of Bournemouth and Shrewsbury Town's Paul Simpson www.football-league.co.uk/league2/news/hill-named-manager-of-the-month-20091003_2248208_1816534
