Chris Sutton Appointed New Manager
The Board of Directors are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Sutton as the Club's new manager.
Former England international Sutton will bring Ian Pearce with him to the Club as his assistant and they will start their roles with the Club on Wednesday. First Team Coach Simon Clark will be in charge of first team duties for Tuesday night's match against Notts County at Sincil Bank Stadium.
We received over 70 applicants for the vacant manager's post and although this double appointment could be seen as a calculated gamble, the Board have every confidence in Chris and Ian and are looking forward to working with them.
Both Chris and Ian impressed every member of the Board with their enthusiasm, ambition and preparation and the decision to appoint them was a unanimous one.
The new management team will be introduced to the media at a news conference this afternoon.@
