Beck denies Histon rift rumours Histon first-team coach John Beck has insisted that his future at the club is not in doubt. Beck did not travel to Saturday's game at Chester, with boss Steve Fallon revealing it was his decision not to have his assistant at the game. The Stutes lost the match 2-0 and are currently 18th in the table. Beck told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I am very happy with Histon and I have been out scouting to try and strengthen the squad." The former Cambridge and Preston boss has played a vital role in club's recent success working alongside Fallon. He has been linked with joining Gareth Ainsworth at Lincoln City should the former QPR man be appointed as successor to Peter Jackson, but denies this is the case. Meanwhile, Histon have allowed striker Kieran Leabon to join Bury Town on a month's loan. Leabon only signed a one-year deal with the Stutes over the summer, but has struggled on settle at the Glass World. news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/h/histon/8241814.stm

Cambridge News - Beck - I'm not quitting HistonJOHN Beck yesterday denied he is on the brink of leaving Histon. The coach was missing from the dugout in Saturday's 2-0 Blue Square Premier defeat at Chester after being told not to travel with the squad by manager Steve Fallon. But he insists he was out searching for potential new signings and has also quashed rumours linking him with a move to Lincoln City. The Imps are searching for a new manager after sacking Peter Jackson. QPR midfielde r Gareth Ainsworth, who worked with Beck at Cambridge United and Preston in the 1990s, is one of the candidates to take over.
Beck said: "I was out scouting on Saturday and there is no truth in that rumour (about him moving to Lincoln)." Boss Fallon will talk to Beck before tonight's trip to Crawley to discuss whether he wants the coach to attend the match.... www.cambridge-news.co.uk/cn_sport_histon/displayarticle.asp?id=447050
