Eleven a side FAI left red-faced over seating farceSeptember 4, 2009 Irish Player of the Year Kevin Doyle and Hull City defender Paul McShane were fuming after a mix-up over seat bookings forced several Irish players to travel to Cyprus in economy class on Thursday.Doyle has only recently recovered from a groin injury which delayed his debut for Wolves following a £6.5m move from Reading. McShane is also nursing a knee injury at present, having failed to feature for Sunderland or new club Hull this season. Both players are said to have expressed their upset at being asked to sit in economy class following a seating mix-up on the squad’s flight to Nicosia on Thursday, which saw just 22 business class seats reserved for the FAI party. Assistant manager Liam Brady and goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly offered to swap seats with the pair. However, McShane’s Hull teammate Stephen Hunt, Doyle’s fellow Wolves man Andy Keogh, Celtic’s Aiden McGeady, Reading’s Shane Long and former Sunderland and QPR midfielder Liam Miller all took their place in the cheaper seats. www.eleven-a-side.com/boysingreen/news.asp?n=37087
