In light of all what has transpired did Don flavio do the same game picking or other issues that someone may know other than homesickness and grief. that he talked about. Why not an LOA. Or who did he cross and why if they did want that they wanted him out. All supposition conjecture but perhaps he wouldnt play Flavs choices?!?

Don't think there were actually any real "Flavs choices" at the club then.
I believe what LDC himself said, on camera, in Italy before one of the live games.
Why would he lie?

He explained that he had no problems with the owners, he enjoyed his time and loved the fans. With the loss of his father and the fact that his family had stayed in Italy rather than join him, the loneliness was too much. He said he would not rule out a return in the future as he enjoyed the club so much, especially the fans and the singing of his name almost immediately. Very nice bloke! Hope he does return at some point. Still get the interview recorded actually, his gaff looked lovely and I know where I would rather be!

Well I had been thinking how much better things migh have been if he were still here. Did not see that piece but it does clear things up and maybe he will return some time. cheers and thanks for feedback.

my understanding of it was that he was homesick.maybe the directorship did ask him to play certain players but because dicanio was such a good coach he was able to fuse those players into his team, but the overiding problem was he missed italy so much the only time he ever ventured out of his bed sit he got mugged
