Logically, how about the Championship?Telegraph/Henry Winter - Premier League consider extending transfer windowThe Premier League is considering extending the transfer window by 24 hours because Aug 31, the traditional deadline day, falls on a UK Bank Holiday. With so much money being wired between club accounts on Monday Aug 31, the Premier League fears problems if banks are not operating over the long weekend. Delaying the end of transfer dealings by 24 hours is hardly unprecedented - weekends have forced extensions in the past – but the Premier League would need clearance from Fifa, the world governing body as the transfer window applies globally. The Premier League, which was criticised last season when it allowed the paperwork of Andrei Arshavin’s move from Zenit St-Petersburg to Arsenal to be completed after the deadline, will now debate whether it is reasonable or practicable to put the deadline back to midnight of Sep 1. Managers not wishing to lose valuable players will hope there is no extension but those looking to strengthen their sides will appreciate any leeway the Premier League grant them www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/5967362/Premier-League-consider-extending-transfer-window.html
