SOUSA'S GLOWING REFERENCE Posted on: Fri 21 Nov 2008 Flavio Briatore sought the advice of Fabio Capello, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Jose Mourinho amongst others, before appointing Paulo Sousa as the R's new First Team Coach. As Sousa prepares his troops for the R's crucial Championship clash against Watford on Saturday, the QPR Holdings Ltd Chairman revealed how he got his man. "I spoke to them (Capello, Scolari and Mourinho) all about who would be the best guy for our future," he told www.qpr.co.uk. "They gave Paulo a good reference and he is the right choice for QPR. "He's young, ambitious and serious about our project. "He has a great personality and is young, so he understands our players." Flanked by (Sporting Director) Gianni Paladini and (Managing Director) Alejandro Agag, Briatore was on hand to introduce the squad to their new gaffer on Thursday morning, and added: "We're complete now. "The people are what matter most and we needed someone like Paulo here. "He has the commitment and the knowledge to take us to where we want to be. "This new chapter starts now - against Watford on Saturday."

Of course CHELSEA's Scolari could be acting on instructions from his boss: "QPR Are a Threat to Us...Get them to Appoint someone who will damage them" But overall, definitely sounds promising. But when the declarations end, the proof will be on the field: How we play; and how we do. And reminder to Briatore - and Paladini: This was a one time only introductory deal: Don't come back anywhere near the players.
