Nice memory! Brian Glanville/World Soccer - "Flavio Briatore, QPR chairman and financier, hardly the most blushing of violets, has been accused of leaning over the edge of the stand and shouting advice to his erstwhile acting manager, Gareth Ainsworth. There’s nothing new under the sun, however; not least at Shepherds Bush. - When Jim Gregory, the tough little West Londoner who bankrolled QPR successfully for so many years, was chairman, his word was inexorable law. Some years ago, the word was that QPR would sell their star striker, Rodney Marsh, to Manchester City. “Over my dead body!” cried the Rangers manager, Gordon Jago. A day or two later the smoke cleared; Marsh had gone to Maine Road and Jago was still alive. So, emphatically, was Jim Gregory.
