Some years ago, the word was that QPR would sell their star striker, Rodney Marsh, to Manchester City. “Over my dead body!” cried the Rangers manager, Gordon Jago. A day or two later the smoke cleared; Marsh had gone to Maine Road and Jago was still alive. So, emphatically, was Jim Gregory.
