EXCLUSIVE: HEIDAR'S A HOOP

Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce the arrival of Bolton Wanderers' striker Heidar Helguson, on an emergency loan deal.

The 31 year-old has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of January and goes straight in to the R's squad for the Coca Cola Championship fixture against his former Club, Watford, on Saturday.

Helguson, who has made over 40 appearances for his native Iceland, scored the only goal of the game for his country against Malta last night (Wednesday).

Yes. I did use to focus a lot on his "Didn't fail a fitness test" 'dispute' (and the circumstances around his signing - but how QPR that was in those pre- Fernandes/Bhatia days!!
But past 18 months, he's been brilliant

And then despite all the questions...and injuries, etc...He finally slotted in...Made a valuable contribution to the club in our promotion season...and last season..And then just when it seemed would make a great backup in the 25 man squad...we got rid of him - and it couldnt have been for much money
