Swans complete Lopez signing
Posted on: Mon 20 Jul 2009
Swansea City have secured the signature of Uefa Cup winner Jordi López on a two-year deal.
New Swans boss Paulo Sousa saw the midfielder complete a medical this afternoon and put pen to paper tonight to become his first signing since taking over in the managerial hot-seat.
Although the deal is still subject to Football League approval, Lopez will meet his new teammates tomorrow morning as they set off for their seven-day tour of Spain.
López has been at the top of Paulo's shopping list since taking over at the Liberty Stadium helm last month.

The former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla midfielder played under Paulo at QPR on a three-month contract last season after parting company with Real Mallorca.
López, who made no secret of the fact that he would love to team up with the Portuguese legend again, began his career in the successful Barcelona and Real Madrid B squads.
After featuring twice for Madrid's first team in the 2003/04 campaign, he moved to Sevilla where he won the UEFA Cup.
In total, López made 37 starts for Sevilla, before moving to Real Mallorca in 2006. He went on to make 24 appearances for Mallorca before being loaned out to Racing Santander.
During his time at the Estadio El Sardinero, López helped the Racinguistas achieve their first-ever UEFA Cup qualification.
He teamed up with Sousa at the end of last season at QPR where he made 10 appearances and scored one goal in a short but impressive spell.
We'll bring you the full reaction to the signing on Tuesday as we join Lopez and the Swans squad on the official tour party to Spain.
