How it started and finishedQPR Official Site - June 27, 2008 EXCLUSIVE: ARGENTINEAN ACE JOINS Queens Park Rangers have swooped to clinch the signing of highly-rated Argentinean midfielder Emmanuel Jorge Ledesma. The 20 year-old attacker, who was born in Quilmes but has an Italian passport, has agreed a season-long loan deal with the R's and Rangers will have the option to buy the player for three million Euros at the end of his year-long stay in W12. The R's have beaten off stiff competition from a number of Serie A Club's for the youngster's signature, to the delight of First Team Coach Iain Dowie. "It's a very exciting signing," he told www.qpr.co.uk. "I went to watch him in Italy and although Genoa lost that particular fixture, he was the outstanding player on the pitch. "He's incredibly creative and has exceptional ability on the ball. He can play across the front line and has a great range of passing. "He's one for the future, but technically he's ready now. He'll need time to adapt to the style of the English game, and the Championship in particular, but I'm very excited about him." Dowie praised the contribution of Chairman Flavio Briatore in his efforts to bring the player to West London, commenting: "We're very fortunate in that Flavio has good contacts in the Italian game and that has helped us tremendously to pull off this signing. "I'm ever so grateful to him and he's as excited as I am about this." Flavio Briatore added: "I am extremely grateful to Mr Enrico Preziosi (the owner of Genoa) for giving QPR the opportunity to sign Emmanuel. "He is a great, young talent and we are looking forward to welcoming him to QPR." Subscribers to Queens Park Rangers' SMS Service were the first to receive official confirmation of this news.
