Antonio Caliendo, former Chairman of Queens Park Rangers FC, has instructed lawyers Donald Manasse, in Principality of Monaco, and Barrister Steven Gee, QC, of Stone Chambers in London, in his legal dispute with the QPR¡¯s Board Chairman Flavio Briatore.
¡°There are serious disputes¡± said Mr. Caliendo. ¡°It is unfortunate that I have had to take these steps against a club that I respect and that I worked so hard to protect during difficult economic times .¡±
Mr. Caliendo is the president of World Champions Club, the sports agency based in Monte Carlo, and of the international award ¡°Golden Foot¡±. He contracted to sell his QPR¡¯s shares to Mr. Briatore in 2007.
¡°I hope that there are no further transfer and sales of shares in QPR ownership,¡± said Mr. Caliendo, ¡°until all these questions are resolved
