Well that's a new approach - 2 goalkeepers named on the bench ! Maybe we can play 2 and keep the score down - or our injury situation is worse than we know.

Must admit that the lack of good communication has a negative impact on me. So we signed another keeper (Shepperd) on emergency short term loan - why? Clearly Walsh and Nardi are also in the squad. We put 2 keepers on the bench when Kolli is banished to score goals for the development squad - why? Fox and Dembelle presumably have failed fitness tests??? I don't understand why the supporters are not informed and Nourry loses support with this daft approach to communication. Or is Marti trying to make a point?

Why another keeper plus we just recalled the youth keeper sent out to get experience.? Maybe lining up a possible Walsh loan/sale if the new guy proves himself by the time the wind opens and we can use the cash to sign a striker.
My guess on the team would be Shepperd had just signed and was with the squad. Marti went for experience for Burnley and left the development players at home. Fox and Dembelli pick up a bug or knock too late to get in replacements so we use the keeper to make up the numbers - or maybe he is good with his head as a sub striker.
The silence is golden is getting to me as well. I was in favour on topics such as pending transfers but we seem to have gone too far - or just things happened today too late to advise in advance. I'll reserve judgement to post match press conferences.

Marti will be asked after the game, and we will be left to judge his answer. Was Shepperd the last man standing, or is Marti trying to make a point? Nourry got off to a good start but he is eroding any goodwill he may have had. Meanwhilw, Holloway losing with Grant Hall sent off after 9 minutes.

Well, that was a point I never saw us getting.
Would have bitten your hand off for that at the start of the day, so we’ll happy with a point away to Burnley.

I didn’t see it today but the stats tell a story.
They had 22 shots and 75% possession.
We had 2 shots.
Getting out of there with a point. Burnley must feel they were mugged.

In fairness, neither keeper was really troubled and both sides hit the woodwork. Very few teams will go to Burnley this season and get a point, let alone keep a clean sheet!.

Got back late from the game and at least 8 hours of driving was worth a point!
As the reports say an excellent defensive display typified by Cook in particular who was excellent. We blocked and headed cleared everything they could throw at us but Burnley did run out of ideas in the 2nd half.
Ashby struggled on the left and was very poor - I know right footed but why he never used his left foot I just won’t understand - all professionals should be comfortable with both feet, no excuses.
Initially in the first half Field and Varane did not track their runners into the box but then we had Cook or JCS to mop up and clear thankfully. Those short sharp bursts into our box by their midfielders tended to dry up in the 2nd half as Burnley offered little and we looked quite comfortable as defensive unit, much more like last season.
We offered zilch going forward other than Smyth’s shot in the first half but a good point and more importantly a first clean sheet.
If both teams were still playing now it would be goalless - one of those games.
We need to find a solution upfront while Frey is out injured as Celar continues to struggle. I would even prefer Dykes back and that’s saying something! Possibly needs to change shape to give Celar more support centrally around him as he looks unable to play the lone striker role at this level in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation.

It was a fairly local fixture for me but after the Pompey and Coventry games I simply could not pick up enough courage to attend.
Reports indicate that the ball was in our penalty area for long periods and we hardly crossed the halfway line. Never the less we defended well to hang on for an excellent unexpected and precious point.
If only we had shown the same defensive resolve in our previous four matches we would be a lot higher up the league than we are now
