This is bloody awful since we scored we have been at best pedestrian no threat at all up front nothing created from midfield WBA aren't the team from last season but are by far the better team

Our Defense and Defensive Midfield looked strong - on paper

Our defence did well back end of last year, rarely let in more than a goal a game. Today thought it was poor, sort of off the ball. Paal possibly has his head on a move ? But overall defence was bad.
We need those two signings this week and maybe Hayden back from Newcastle. I think if we get these three signings and Chair back in the team we will look a much stronger outfit. An important week to back Martí.
But won’t be panicking, we only had 8 points from our first 14 matches last year.

Ah well. By the end of next week we’ll be out of the Carabao cup and rock bottom 6 points adrift.
New season, same as last season.

Defensive errors the difference. Dune was consistently out fought. Paal work rate was lacking. WBA tried the same thing three times and it worked.
Lucas was lively and played more than his customary 45 minutes like he did last season. Kolli had moments gave the ball away too often but the kids gotta be given a chance to learn as long as he is a quick learner.

Varane looked very decent in his little cameo

Took nearly two hours to get there and another 2 to get home, and then we lost from a winning position. Poor goals conceded. Paal had a bad day. If we sign the two wingers, I think Smyth may be moved on. Kolli's cross for our goal the highlight, but then went off injured. But WBA four shots and 3 goals says it all. First half all square, second half WBA deserved their win. Work to do.

After a bright start we simply collapsed. You cannot afford slack play against the better Championship sides and expect to get away with it. We were duly punished.
Also on this evidence there is still a question mark over our ability to score enough goals.
Obviously early days but Sheffield United away looks to me like nil points and possibly nil goals
