Millwall Keeper dies aged 26 & Kevin Campbell aged 54

Shocking stuff. 
Millwall goalkeeper Matija Sarkic has died at the age of 26.

Sarkic, a Montenegro international, joined the Championship club from Wolves in August 2023 and made 33 appearances last season.

He last played for his country in a 2-0 friendly defeat by Belgium on 5 June.

The Montenegro Football Association (FSCG) said Sarkic died suddenly on Saturday morning, with local media reporting he collapsed at his apartment in Budva.

Sarkic was man of the match against Belgium and 10 days later he is gone. Truly shocking and puts football into perspective.

With all the modern day medical staff working and testing players at this level of the game it is difficult to understand how some underlying problems are not found but it seems there are an increasing number of incidents of this type on and off the pitch.  Are players being pushed too far physically and mentally with the ridiculous schedules they now face.  Strange why he was man of the natch on June 5th but not included in the match squad against Georgia on June 10th so maybe something was known.
