Apart from his part in our upturn in form, extending the contract makes him a sellable asset in Jan (Or this summer)

or if we are doing well by December a new contract - doubt he will break into the PL so the only reasons to eave would be money or lack of playing time or another relegation battle.
If he was thinking of going now he would not have signed a contract but held on for a larger signing on fee rather than the club getting a transfer fee

Question - Given we are not publishing. the length of player contracts does the Offie announcement that Dunne has extended "beyond the end of this season mean" we have just triggered the one year option or maybe for longer. I suspect just for the year as Marti will want to strengthen more in January or next summer if we are pushing the top.
